“Mine!” – How many times we have read this part on male werewolf characters in werewolf romance stories? True to the novel’s name, Mine by Ksdm1985 tells us a story about Caydence Adams, a 17-year-old she-wolf from the Red River pack who studies in a small school in the remote part of Julian, California.
Caydence’s father is a Beta, which means she inherits the Beta bloodline which makes her a perfect match for Alpha werewolves. The unfortunate news we know from the Mine novel is that Caydence’s father has set her up with Adam Price, the future Alpha of her pack who doesn’t take no for an answer and has a womanizer reputation.
Adam of Mine novel is so scary that Caydence attempts to run away from her pack to a place called North Bend once she turns 18.
Caydence successfully gets a steady job in her new place and everybody refers to her by her pen name, and she also gets to know her wolf. As soon as Caydence a.k.a Cadi has returned to her work, she and her wolf witness another male werewolf who screams “Mine!” to her quietly somewhere.
So, the questions for the Mine novel are, will this one male werewolf be a kind-hearted significant other to Caydence a.k.a Cadi? How will their relationships unfold?
Part 1: Meet The Characters Of Mine
Caydence “Cadi” Adams
Caydence Adams (nickname: Cadi) is the main female character of the Mine novel. She is 17 years old when the prologue starts, and she turns 18 as soon as we have the womanizer future Alpha, Adam Price’s, first brief appearance in the same chapter.
Caydence herself is a daughter of the Beta of the Red River pack, and as such, she possesses the Beta bloodline that lets her be close to Alpha werewolves. Such abilities are true despite her smells that are more humane than most she-wolves.
Genevieve is the name of Caydence’s wolf in the Mine book, and Caydence’s wolf (and her other closest ones) calls her “Cadi”. At work in her new place, people around her (including her employer) refer to her as Hayden.
Dante Rivers
Dante Rivers, the main male character of the Mine novel, is the Alpha of the New Moon pack who has been looking for his mate in his lifetime. Dante of the Mine novel isn’t alone in trying to accomplish his goal; instead, his Beta and Gamma are accompanying him the ways most other Beta and Gamma would do to their pack’s Alpha.
Even though Dante of the Mine novel is an Alpha werewolf, he’s a kind and considerate male character. He knows a doctor who relates to his pack, yet, he uses his power and connection to help Cadi recover from her physical illnesses and traumas of her pack. As I read through the novel, I just hope that Dante’s presence in the Mine book will lead Cadi to find a new family.
Part 2: Story Of Mine
My stories of Mine are focused around a she-wolf named Caydence Adams (a.k.a “Cadi”). At first, Caydence a.k.a Cadi of Mine appears like any other 17-year-old high school girl with her tomboyish appearance and a menacing height of 5’10”. Caydence is a she-wolf from the Red River pack, and she is the daughter of the current Beta there.
Unfortunately, her pack members (including her father) in the Mine book choose to preserve the tradition by letting the (future) Alpha chooses his Luna. Her pack also knows a future Alpha named Adam Price.
Unfortunately, Adam is a womanizer who never takes no for an answer, tends to get away despite his continuous wrongdoings to other women, and Caydence knows he is not her mate.
So, on Caydence’s 18th birthday, she decides to flee to another place called North Bend. She doesn’t care if her pack is going to look for her, including the desperate-minded Adam. She just wishes for a life that is free of threatening male werewolves.
In North Bend, Caydence rents a motel for a while before she gets a new job under a fake identity named Hayden and contacts her wolf, Genevieve, for the first time in her life.
Just as she has settled for everything in North Bend, she and Genevieve smell werewolves coming to the place where Cadi works. Later on in the Mine book, we know one of the werewolves is the kind-hearted Dante Rivers, the 21-year-old Alpha of the New Moon pack, who helps Cadi recover from her traumatic pack-related past.
Part 3: The Author Of Mine
Ksdm1985 is the pseudonym of the author of the Mine novel. As I read the pen name of the author, I start thinking that 1985 is the author’s year of birth, and “Ksdm” is like an acronym for something. When I opened up the author’s bio on the Dreame platform, I know the author is a female.
After all, Ksdm1985 states in her bio that she’s a “working mother”. She also describes her two sons as “beautiful young boys”. Like any other Dreame author, Ksdm1985 has loved writing since she was a teenager. Now, this one’s an interesting informational piece from the author: Ksdm1985 has recently re-found her love for writing.
Not stopping there, Ksdm1985 also has a Facebook account where she promotes her books and interacts with her readers. When we look back at her Dreame profile, we know that Ksdm1985 currently has more than 1,000K followers who adore her amazing ways of telling the stories in her novel.
As for the novel itself, it appears to be the first novel that Ksdm1985 has written on the Dreame platform. Even though the novel only has 29 chapters in total, it has got 87,313K reads, which appears to be one of the most read novels from Ksdm1985.
Ksdm1985 herself specializes in writing all about bad boys. In Mine, we know Adam Price as the bad boy despite his brief mentions in the prologue part. Then, again, werewolves are not the only genres that Ksdm1985 has written; she has also written human-related novels, yet, all of them always involve bad boys.
