Male lead books like Mason give readers a safe space to explore their fantasy, and besides the greatest hook with male lead romance novels, like here in Mason is that readers are more invested and connected when they see a woman, a female lead whose personality is exact opposite of the male lead, and she’s able to soften him. Readers are thrilled to witness how a devil-like man is being tamed by a woman, and that’s the kind of premise most of male lead romance novels have. As in this story, Mason was presented as a cold hearted, heartless character until she hired the female lead, and the rest is history.

Getting a job with Mason and his companies isn’t that easy, and that makes Lauren wonder why she was offered the job. She didn’t refuse it for she was in tight financial need to support her sick father. Working with Mason, or being his personal secretary was something Lauren didn’t think she could survive. Being with him everyday is just toxic except for his greek god like body and handsome face, but the rest it’s either Mason will insult her or control her, or give her loads of work. Part 3: Characterization In The Novel Mason
Mason Campbell and Lauren Hart
Mason and Lauren’s character build up are just fitting for each other. They compliment one’s personality. The other was cold hearted while the other was an empath. At some point, Lauren was shown like she’s someone Mason could easily control for she’s a secretary her job was to follow his orders, and there are some cases where she’s even hesitant to voice out her dislikes. With Mason’s character building and with the way he treated Lauren makes the readers guess how he would fall in love with Lauren?
The author was good in showing Mason as a heartless character, and somehow though his traits could be toxic in real life, yet, here in this novel, Mason was entertaining to read. It’s a thrill how he was bossy and demanding, and it would surely thrilled readers even more when Mason will soften. Mason’s character still has a lot to show to the readers. Mason is emotionless, even likened to a devil now we wonder what could be his achilles heel? That’s exciting to witness.
Part 4: Plot Review Of Mason
Mason is an urban romance story. Most of its scenes took place in the office, or in England where Mason lived as the most rich and influential. The setting of the story gives a different vibe to the plot. It transports readers to the splendid, busy and rich world of Mason. The novel Mason has a clear plot line. It is well intended and solid at first that the romantic tension was already felt by the readers despite Mason’s prickly character.
The strength of its plot is in its romantic exposition which the author had pulled off greatly despite introducing Mason as someone who’s not sweet and indeed heartless. It’s like the plot has taken on a beauty and the beast type of plot where the male lead was of stone heart and only the female lead could tame him. Using that kind of concept hooks the reader’s interest. And with that kind of plot, plus with the characterization, Mason gives its readers a good reading experience.
