A wonderful work of fiction about a rich lady who lived her glamorous life and eventually came up with an irrevocable decision in her life. The story was given great feedback from bibliophiles all over the world. No wonder it was one of the best sellers in the entire series. By just reading the first few chapters, I could easily understand what is the author trying to convey.
Though a bit predictable, every banters were undeniably witty and entertaining. Speaking of lines and narratives, I could not help getting moved by the slow-burn effect it caused the readers. Most of the characters were flawed which made them more relatable and human. Especially with the way Kats’s character developed across the story progression.
The chapters always begin with a quotable quote that I find profound which made the reader’s understanding of the novel a bit deeper. Penny gave enough justice to the entire 7th book. I was actually enticed, touched, and above all in love. In short, I got mixed emotions like a roller-coaster ride. She put a different flavor in the arranged marriage trope. A contemporary touch that I enjoyed. And I could say that Penny is one of my favorite authors since I read Marriage ofInconvenience.

Part 1: Marriage of Inconvenience Phenomenal Highlights and Characters
Kathleen Tanner is a beautiful, outgoing, smart lady from a reputable family who runs a multi-billion Pharmaceutical Company. With that, she was the one and only heiress of the said asset. Yet, even with her overflowing wealth, her life is not as happy as it seems. She did not experience having a complete family to support her all her life.
Not because her parents were busy doing business, but because they were both suffering from illness. Her mother was diagnosed with catatonic schizophrenia and was staying in a mental institution for years.
While her father had Alzheimer’s disease and was also confined in the hospital for three years already. During her younger years, she did not much enjoy her childhood and was sent to boarding schools. For she was suspected of having the same symptoms that her mom had back then.
And because she was labeled the wrong way by the people around her, she turned into a rebellious and stubborn teenager. And later on, her attitude became rough, thinking that she was never been loved by anyone, especially because her dad was controlling her so much. She usually lived her life in the clubs, partying, and hooking up with anyone she wanted. Most of the time she was drunk and even did recreational drugs. Her life was wasted but things changed and realized that she had to put herself back on track.
Knowing that their company was being run by her malevolent cousin, Caleb. He was the CEO and wanted to be Kats’s guardian because he was accusing her of being mentally unfit.
However, she was against that scheming tactic, she could not let Caleb rule over their properties and riches. So, her best friend Steven advised her to talk to Dan O’Malley, the security man. She wanted to propose marriage to him to get the assets under her name.
Prior to that proposal, she and Dan had a moment in Las Vegas and it was magical, tender, and memorable.
Part 2: Marriage of Inconvenience A Cozy Read
Kat believed that Dan would not refuse her offer. She knew that it would be beneficial for the man. Little did she know, he also had something for her. They had a mutual attraction between each other which was not known to them. Kat had a secret crush on him. Although it was a play pretend, the sparkling chemistry between them was palpable.
An exceptional dreamy tension was built, and the entire development of their relationship was cute yet hot. There was something with the way they touch, their kisses, and their intimate scenes. All-in-all, it was swoon-worthy. Plus, the handsome serious man whom I could not get enough of. Kat and Dan were really a great match.
In the later chapters of Marriage of Inconvenience, Kat experienced various challenges which were hard for her. The bitterness of her past and family issues made her life more complicated. But Dan was always there for her and never dared to leave her alone. Albeit the fact that Kat was having a hard time being hundred percent intimate with Dan.
Lucky for her, he was willing to support her every step of the way, loving her as if he was her husband for real. Caleb tried to block her way but evil never wins. Kat learned to let go of her burden and finally give in to the greatest love of her life. The marriage was not dissolved, and they lived as a couple with zero pretensions.
The entire reading experience was indeed overwhelming. It was not a plain romantic comedy novel but also sprinkled with marvelous action-packed scenes.
Part 3: Marriage of Inconvenience: For Better Or For Worse Review
And it’s a wrap! Marriage ofInconvenience is a remarkably compelling work of fiction. I had to commend Penny Reid for creating beautifully imperfect characters. The concept made me think of falling in love all over again as if it was my first time.
Marriage is indeed not an easy thing to keep, and I had to say that in real life, Kat and Dan would make a strong relationship. Everything was effortlessly nice, the humor, the conflicts, and the ending.
