Part 1: Plot Summary of The Devils Love For The Heiress
The story follows Kate who finds herself pining for her former best friend. She realized too late that her feelings were more than what she had of friendship. She didn’t see him when he was right beside her, she didn’t notice him when he stood in front of her, didn’t acknowledge what was inevitably growing between them. Then, he left. He went off to pursue his dreams. These are the same dreams which he put aside every time, for her sake. Who knew it was the one thing he had to do in order to catch her attention? Now, with him gone, she could only hear about him, and see him on the television screen, because he had embarked on a journey she couldn’t follow him on.
Nine years later, she mustered up the courage to go and see him, hoping to work things out with him. But, when she gets there, the last thing she expected was to see him sharing a kiss with another woman. What can Kate do? Nothing.
Someone else had realized what a treasure he is, and Kate was too late to stop it. However, when he suddenly stands in front of her surrounded by many strange circumstances, Kate can’t be sure anymore. Chapter Six
Kate is nervous. After the first man walks into the room, Kate waited for the second. As that familiar man emerged, Kate could hardly gather enough air into her lungs. Finally, Carlos was in front of her. Kate can’t deny that the man is breathtaking. After a long time staring at his figure, the man meets her eyes. Kate is introduced to Carlos, and they both greeted each other like they were meeting for the first time.
When all the welcome talks were over, Carlos invites everyone to another gathering, a team dinner. No one objected. And, when he wanted somewhere private, someone suggested the First Diamond Hotel, which belonged to Kate’s family. There is an awkward moment, and then Carlos makes sure to tell them that no one was to be exempted.
Kate can feel his eyes on her when he gets to that point. Eventually, Kate is brought into the conversation and assures them that the table will be perfect.
However, just as everyone prepared to leave, Hailey McKenzie shows up out of the blue. It gives Kate more substantial proof that she is Carlos’s girlfriend. When they step out to talk, Kate excuses herself from the dinner, not waiting for any objections.
She leaves but drives around aimlessly for some time before going home. However, the man she was trying to avoid had come to look for her and was speaking with her father in the study.
Kate dashes away to prepare herself to meet Carlos and moments later, she was standing before him.
