Poppy loses her engagement ring and everything that follows can only be described as humorous and chaotic. It wasn’t just an ordinary engagement ring, it has been in Magnus’ family for three generations and due to Poppy’s negligence, it appears that it is gone forever.

Poppy Wyatt’s fiance, Magnus’ parents are nothing less than the definition of wealthy and sophisticated individuals who expects the best for themselves and their son. Unfortunately, Poppy is anything but the perfectionist that they are looking for.

They always disdained their relationship but now when the news of engagement reaches them, they are petrified and are on their way to confront them.

Everything seems to be falling apart in Poppy’s life and when all hope seemed lost, a stranger’s phone helps her get back on track. Along with a ring, Poppy also lost her phone and all hope that evening but then she finds a phone abandoned in a trash can. Poppy picks it up but unbeknownst to her at that time, this phone was going to change the trajectory of her life. This phone belongs to Sam Roxton, a businessman who never expected his phone to end up in Poppy’s possession but it did nevertheless.

Their fates collide when Poppy helps Sam in securing a deal for his company and consequently Sam lets Poppy keep the phone. From there starts the series of text messages and moments that make two strangers friends even if they have never met in real life.

With Magnus’ parents not ready to accept her and Poppy already having doubts about her engagement, she may end up choosing an entirely different path, one that might include Sam Roxton.

Sophie Kinsella’s, I Got Your Number builds a strange yet intoxicating relationship between two strangers who are complete opposites. During the journey of I got your number, Magnus’ parents’ behavior proves to be the main reason why Poppy distances herself from Magnus and learns that she is much more than everyone else expects her to be.

Before Poppy used to be timid and easily swayed by others but after she met Sam, she realizes that her path in life may be different than what she always envisioned. I’ve Got Your Number builds Poppy’s character in such a beautiful manner that you cannot help but cheer for her.

She is engaged to Magnus who belongs to a wealthy family. His parents who are strict and perfectionists at what they do disapproves of Poppy, but she is determined to prove them wrong.

Unfortunately for Poppy, all her plans of stunning her Fianc”s parents go into mud, when she loses her engagement ring. It isn’t just an ordinary ring. It has been in Magnus’s family for three generations. What follows can only be described as humorous and awkward but still warm and wholesome as Poppy learns more about herself.

I’ve Got Your Number portrays Poppy as a smart, resourceful, and optimistic character yet somehow Magnus’ parents still manage to find flaws in her. Those mistakes in reality make her human and one of the reasons which made me fall in love with her.

You cannot help but relate to her as she interacts with Sam Roxton. In the start, their moments are filled with awkward handshakes and confrontations but all that changes when Poppy goes through personal growth and becomes more confident.

Throughout the I’ve Got Your Number book, Poppy learns to stand up for herself and by the end of the book, even the reader finds comfort and satisfaction.

In Sophie Kinsella’s I Got Your Number, Sam Roxton is another main character who is the complete opposite of Poppy Wyatt. He is a successful business owner of a consulting firm. Sam’s phone is the one that Poppy picks up from the trash can.

Initially, he is frustrated as his phone is the only way he can contact clients but with time, he realizes that it may be the best coincidence of his life.

At the start of the I’ve Got Your Number, Sam is a strict and work-orientated character. He only cares about his work and no distractions are allowed around him but throughout the book, we learn more about his softer side.

He is a private person and never showed his emotions to anyone but when Poppy comes into his life, he cannot help but feel vulnerable in front of her. Through Poppy, we learn more about his difficult relationship with his father and what he does to resolve them.

Just like poppy, along the way, Sam also goes through major character development. In the start, he was more like a boss who doesn’t care much about other people but Poppy is the one who makes him realize that life is too short to dwell on the past. She shows him that it is never too late to take risks and make amends with the people you love before it’s too late.
