I Woke My Vegetative Husband Up at Our Wedding Night tells the story of Fu Sinian and Shi Qian’s arranged marriage set-up. Shi Qian was forced to accept her stepmother’s offer to marry a vegetative man for money.
Her mother needed money for surgery. She tried to ask for help from her father but she was blatantly rejected. Her stepmother said she would give her money if she were to marry the Fu family’s son. The stepmother was unaware that the Fu family is a powerful family from the capital so she detested the idea of an arranged marriage with her own daughter.
Shi Qian immediately married Fu Sinian. Her mother was transferred to a better hospital. However, this marriage has a natural consequence. She is to bear a child with a vegetative man within three months. Although she did not like the idea, she had no choice because of her mother’s condition.
On the night of the wedding, Shi Qian stayed and slept beside Fu Sinian. The next day, unbeknownst to the Fu family and Shi Qian, Fu Sinian woke up but he cannot use his legs. He needed time to heal and sort out things.

Part 3: Exciting Scene of I Woke My Vegetative Husband Up at Our Wedding Night
We usually see the hero chase their wife to prevent divorce but this time, we see the husband fleeing just to avoid the mention of divorce!
Following the agreement between Grandpa Fu and the married couple, Fu Sinian and Shi Qian stayed at the old mansion. They needed to live together for three months to cultivate feelings and if they still don’t develop, then Grandpa Fu would agree for them to divorce.
These three months weren’t fully consumed yet Fu Sinian already fell in love with Shi Qian. When Shi Qian got into an accident, she tried to talk with Grandpa Fu about the divorce. Granpa Fu agreed. Now, it’s between the couple to sign the divorce papers.
Fu Sinian learned of this that’s why every time Shi Qian tried to talk to him, he will immediately divert the topic. One breakfast, Shi Qian tried to tell the good news but Fu Sinian pretended that he received an urgent phone call from work. He even deliberately arranged work for himself just to stay away from Shi Qian and avoid the topic of divorce.

I Woke My Vegetative Husband at Our Wedding Night is a slow-paced romantic comedy that features arranged marriage as its trope. Its comedic undertone blends well with its romantic aspect making it lighter and funnier to read. The novel also gave an interesting twist to the heroine’s job in this story.
Despite the fact that it was an arranged marriage, Fu Sinian still treated the heroine with respect. He is also self-aware that no one would agree without forcing or giving them a reward for marrying a vegetative person, so he proposed a divorce to Shi Qian.
One admirable thing about the hero is his patience with Shi Qian’s career. She is a public figure and disclosing her married identity might not do good to her career. In this regard, Fu Sinian still chooses not to disclose their relationship.
Another regard that this novel should pay attention to is the research on how psychiatric conditions are treated. Su Ruoqing, the antagonist of this story was only mentioned as a psychology undergraduate. However, Fu Sinian was undergoing psychotherapy with her. This matter should be clear to avoid confusion.
