“Marry me. I”ll make you the happiest woman in the world!”
This line from the blurb got me. Honestly, I Want A Lifetime With You sounds like a melodrama to me, but looking at the story premise, I think this novel has got its appeal, especially to female readers. Of course, who doesn’t want a man whose head over heels in love with a woman? And that’s what I Want A Lifetime With You gives the readers.
To make I Want A Lifetime With You even more appealing, I guess it adds to its charm that this story is a kind of love after-marriage troupe. Love After Marriage books are popular nowadays, such as I Want A Lifetime With You because it takes us to a new level of love story.
The common plot in romance stories is protagonists falling in love first before marriage, but stories, like I Want A Lifetime With You, are uncommon, yet it is sweeping the readers’ hearts. I Want A Lifetime With You tells the story of Shi Nuan who was betrayed by her fiance and her sister, and exactly at her lowest moment, a savior guy came to her rescue saving her pride, and perhaps her heart. So, the premise of I Want A Lifetime With You is no doubt romantic for me, yet check out this review and let’s see if this is worth following until the end.

Part 1: Plot Summary of I Want A Lifetime With You
In I Want A Lifetime With You, Shi Nuan was engaged to Fu Xicheng, she thinks they have the best relationship, only to get shocked one day when she returned from her trip finding out that her fiance is getting married to her sister.
What was even worse was when Shi Nuan tried to stop the wedding, her parents got furious at her, and she even gained a bad public reputation, yet, just when she was about to ruin herself, a man came to her rescue – Fu Chenyuan.
That’s all she knows. She just knows his name but the guy knows a lot about her, and what’s strange is that he offered her to marry him, and promised to make her happy. After their marriage, Chenyuan keeps his word.
Using his money and his influence, he made all those who messed up with her suffer, including her sister, her ex-fiance, and even her parents. Eventually, Shi Nuan gets a husband who’s willing to give the world to her.
Part 2: Main Protagonists of I Want A Lifetime With You
Shi Nuan
She’s the female lead of I Want A Lifetime With You. What I liked about Shi Nuan’s character was that she’s just right for the novel’s plot and genre. She’s not a damsel in distress, yet she’s not the strong female type. Just enough.
I like how she was shown here, it evokes a charm in her character. Unlike other Chinese novels that had been adapted to English, I usually find it hard to connect with the female lead due to the translation, but it was different here in I Want A Lifetime With You. I want to see more development of Shi Nuan’s character.
Fu Chenyuan
He’s obviously the male lead of I Want A Lifetime With You. Okay, so we got a male lead here who’s I think crazy in love with the female lead, and I like that concept so much. It’s thrilling and it’s romantic because we rarely see a romance novel that has a male lead like this.
And I think the real hook here, the charm of I Want A Lifetime With You, is Fu Chenyuan’s character. He’s mysterious. He’s rich. He’s handsome. He’s powerful.
And he’s crazy in love with Shi Nuan yet he doesn’t have the guts to admit it. Fu Chenyuan’s character here in I Want A Lifetime With You is so pretty and romantic. He’s the kind that readers would easily fall in love with.
Part 3: Plot Review of I Want A Lifetime With You
As I mentioned a while ago, I Want A Lifetime With You has an uncommon plot, following the theme of love after marriage. But after knowing the character’s background, it makes me doubt if Fu Chenyuan had fallen in love with Shi Nuan after they got married. Anyway, whichever it is, it’s still exciting.
I must admit that the plot premise of this story is attractive, and what makes it more interesting was the character building of Fu Chenyuan. He is actually the interesting aspect of this story. He is the charm of I Want A Lifetime With You.
What just intrigues me is the thought of if Chenyuan purposely approaches Nuan, and why does he know her all along? Will Shi Nuan love him back in the way that Chenyuan loves her? So, those kinds of cliffhangers in the plot were effective to sustain the reader’s attention, and I say that was effective.
Part 4: Similar Book To I Want A Lifetime With You
“When I love you, you are my everything. But you treat me as a toy.
Now that I don’t love you anymore, please just let me go.”
If you like love after-marriage books such as I Want A Lifetime With You, I bet you will love Resisting My Billionaire Husband too. This is similar to I Want A Lifetime With You for the falling in love stage of the protagonists here happened during the marriage, even at times when the relationship was rocky. I love this book for painfully romantic reasons.
Here in Resisting My Billionaire Husband, it was the girl who was so in love at first that she gave her everything to the point that she lost herself, and he owns worth and happiness, but then the billionaire male lead was so stiff of loving her back until she decided to divorce him, but then things turn in ways she did not expect.
Resisting My Billionaire Husband is a story of Lance and Andrea. This is a story of how a husband gets back his wife.
