Part 1: The Main Plot Of “I Want A Divorce, Please Stop Obsessing Over Me!” Novel
“I Want A Divorce, Please Stop Obsessing Over Me!” novel’s plot has a central theme of “a female MC’s life inside a novel”. Here, we enter the story of Edelis Brill, Earl Brill’s only daughter, who is the same Edelis Brill inside the novel she “reads”.
Lehan, a tyrant emperor, kills Edelis while making her run out of gold coins to save her life and forcing her to be his Empress. So, when the reincarnated Edelis gains consciousness seven years later, she feels traumatized upon hearing the word “Empress”.
However, this time, Edelis doesn’t remember Lehan. That’s why she initially accepts Lehan’s loving gesture until, at some points in her new life, Edelis slowly regains her memories. Such a scene in this novel marks the beginning of Edelis’ rebellion against Lehan. From this point onward, she starts to have the “I Want A Divorce, Please Stop Obsessing Over Me!” thought.
Yet, Lehan doesn’t only lose his composure when meeting Edelis. He also enjoys Edelis’ freaked-out reactions. He even lets his lustful desire consummate him, to the point Lehan forces Edelis to be his wife.
We will see many steamy and physically forceful scenes in the “I Want A Divorce, Please Stop Obsessing Over Me!” novel. Now that Edelis sees both the emperor’s loving and harsh parts of his personality, will she give up on Lehan because he is too much to handle? Or, will she forget her wishes to divorce him?

Part 2: The Characterizations (And The Elements) Of “I Want A Divorce, Please Stop Obsessing Over Me!” Novel
Edelis Brill is the innocent-minded female MC of the “I Want A Divorce, Please Stop Obsessing Over Me!” novel. When I read this novel, I get an impression of emphasizing Edelis’ status as the Earl’s only daughter. Everybody around her refers to her as “Young Lady”. This nickname emphasizes her hopeless romantic side.
All female MCs tend to hold dear to the ideal definition of love, and Edelis is no exception. She loves it when other people are showering her with kindness, to the point she has her time forgetting what the other “kind-hearted” people are doing to her. Her struggles in dealing with her past and receiving acts of kindness are evident throughout this novel’s story.
Meanwhile, we also have Lehan, the emperor who killed Edelis in her previous life, as the male MC of this novel. Lehan’s tyrant personality is not overt. In other words, he doesn’t commit any direct physically or emotionally violent acts apart from killing Edelis (thus, it causes her trauma in thinking about the word “Empress”).
Still, in “I Want A Divorce, Please Stop Obsessing Over Me!”, we see Lehan’s obsessiveness toward Edelis as one of his horrible traits. Lehan’s chivalrous and honorable characteristics might be his positive characteristics. Yet, the two positive characters support Lehan’s tyrannical and power-hungry tendency.
Lehan is forever the emperor, no matter how loudly Edelis screams, “I Want A Divorce, Please Stop Obsessing Over Me!”, and no matter if there would be other equally or more powerful and influential “candidates” in some later chapters of the novel. Even the Earl of Brill can’t replace him or beat him in a physical fight.
We will see many scenes inside a castle when we read “I Want A Divorce, Please Stop Obsessing Over Me!” book. After all, this novel’s setting revolves around a European-like kingdom, with Earl, Duke, Marquis, and others, as the characters’ nicknames inside the castle.
Part 3: Some Analysis On “I Want A Divorce, Please Stop Obsessing Over Me!” Novel
A divorce is a quick-fix solution when one of the married parties no longer feels the romantic sparks in the relationship. In “I Want A Divorce, Please Stop Obsessing Over Me!” book, Edelis Brill feels odd about herself when she figures out the Lehan guy in front of her is the murderer in her previous life.
Anyway, who wants to marry a murderer? In a reincarnated life, all Edelis wishes to do is to become a better version of herself while redeeming her past. So, pursuing a divorce from her murderer is a justified thing for her. If Edelis can’t do it, at least she wants to see Lehan as himself instead of the cruel emperor who murdered her, even though the two men are the same person.
However, the power gaps here feel “stabbing” right on the readers’ faces. “I Want A Divorce, Please Stop Obsessing Over Me!” presents a covert power gap between Edelis and Lehan, especially in the first few chapters.
Lehan’s chivalrous nature might seem to conflict with the obsessive part of his personality. However, that’s what makes Lehan’s charm almost impossible to resist.
Lehan’s smug yet drop-dead gorgeous face is more evident in the book’s cover. You will see most of his facial expressions in this novel’s manhwa form. At that point, I am sure you will treasure Lehan’s smirks and overall body gestures when he meets Edelis in person. In other words, you will find Lehan irresistible that Edelis’ “I Want A Divorce, Please Stop Obsessing Over Me!” becomes useless.
Part 4: A Novel Similar To “I Want A Divorce, Please Stop Obsessing Over Me!”
The kingdom settings are evident throughout the chapters of, “I Want A Divorce, Please Stop Obsessing Over Me!” As you read more portions of this novel’s chapters, you will feel some touches of political scenes. Lehan’s conflicting personalities are not the only mystery in this novel, you will also notice some other mysteries in this novel that readers can only wait for the next few chapters.
“The Emperor’s Killer Bride” on the Dreame platform is the novel that comes to my mind when thinking about a similar novel to “I Want A Divorce, Please Stop Obsessing Over Me!”. This novel is about Regina Serban Connox, a young woman who wants to avenge her sister’s death by killing the emperor.
Regina only knows killing throughout her life. Nothing is impossible for her, including marrying the emperor as a part of her plan to kill him. Alas, the emperor’s irresistible charisma makes Regina forget her plan. This time, she is torn between her budding feelings for the emperor and her motive to kill him slowly.
So, Regina asks herself if revenge and killing people are parts of her identity or just her defense mechanisms. When you read The Emperor’s Killer Bride on Dreame, you will enjoy much darker and steamier scenes than in “I Want A Divorce, Please Stop Obsessing Over Me!”
