The Imperial family of the Hadellamid was in ruins indeed. The greedy and selfish emperor of Hadellamid created a horrible system called the Homunculus system, and it was one that saw the end of the Imperial family. If only the emperor knew that his greed will swallow him whole.

The Homunculus system was one that saw the emperor using forbidden alchemy to hold on to power and absolute monarchy. How greedy, like I said earlier. Maybe the emperor and all that went down with him deserved what they got as a result of the Homunculus system.

The Princess Imprints A Traitor Manga defines Homunculus as beings with extraordinary abilities who were created via magic and alchemy. This was what the emperor did, he created these beings with extraordinary abilities so that he would control and use them to do his bidding in the Hadellamid empire.

The emperor deceived them, stating that they were fighting for the good of the people of Hadellamid to bring peace to the empire, unknown to them that they were nothing but puppets in the hands of the emperor.

Part 1: Main Story of The Princess Imprints A Traitor

The Princess Imprints A Traitor Manga

The Princess Imprints A Traitor Manger narrates that they were brainwashed. However, there were levels to this Homunculus beings. There were some that had more special abilities than others, and these ones have bestowed the title of Trusted Imperial Knight. They were generally treated better than the ordinary Homunculus. But, they were all just slaves, the bottom line of it all.

The Homunculus soon grew to hate the Imperial family, and instead of the emperor at the time doing something about this pending doom, he turned a blind eye to it, and so did his daughter, Princess Bridget, the crown princess after him. In fact, Princess Bridget was worse than her father while handling the Homunculus.

As a result, the hatred that the Homunculus had for the Imperial family only grew worse. Some Homunculus that had been sent on dangerous expeditions died because Princess Bridget neglected them, while the ones that were Knights were abused by her as she indulged most of them in her Harem, thus staining the purity of their sacred Knighthood.

While all this was happening, the lead female of the story, Eve, who was the seventh princess of the Hadellamid Imperial family had been given out by her sister, Princess Bridget for marriage in order to form an alliance.

But, before it could happen, the Homunculus had started to rebel against the Imperial family, spearheaded by Michaelis Agnito. Michaelis somehow managed to cancel the brainwashing that had been instilled in the Imperial Knights, and he became the Emperor of Hadellamid after killing the emperor, Eves’s father.

Mikhael is would have totally wiped out the entire Imperial family, but apart from Eve who was an illegitimate child of the former emperor after all, Mikhaelis left Rosentine, the eighth princess of the Imperial family alive because he needed the bloodline of royalty if he intended to make use of the

Philosophers Stone, an important ornament that could only work with the bloodline of an Imperial member. That was the reason why Mikhaelis allowed Rosentine to live, but she thought that he loved her so much and that was why he did it.

On the contrary, the person that Mikhaelis loved was Eve, the seventh princess of the imperial family. Michaelis, who had been a prisoner during the reign of the former emperor, had observed Eve closely and saw that she did not partake in the gruesome practice that her father and the rest of her family members were involved in. As a result, she was even more despised by her family. Michaelis saw all this.

Every Imperial family member was leveraged to select a knight that would be their personal guard, and Mikhaelis hoped that Eve would choose him, but Eve refused to choose any. Michaelis intended to use that medium to confess his love for her and make her his empress but she didn’t choose him as her Knight, so he remained distant. Read, The Princess Imprints A Traitor Manga.

In The Princess Imprints A Traitor Book, Rosentine chose Mikhaelis quickly and one fateful day, she came to Eve, tricking her into drinking poison, claiming that she was going to be executed by the new emperor and that in order to make her death less painful than slicing her neck in public, she should drink poison and die solemnly. Eve fell for it.

Already, she was a rejected princess, and so she never imagined that things could ever be better for her, unknown to her that the emperor was in love with her. Rosentine tricked Eve to do this so that she would be the only one for Mikhaelis and there would be no contest for her to become the empress. Eve died, and when Mikhaelis found out, he was very upset.

He arrested Rosentine and then called a sage to bring Eve back to life. The only way Eve could come back to life was by her going back in time.

The sage told Mikhaelis that when Eve wakes up, he, Mikhaelis would not recall the present moment and the fact that he was in love with her, but that she, Eve, would remember everything that had happened up to the moment of her going back to the past. She would have to meet Mikhaelis by herself this time around, as he would not know her.

Michaelis agreed, and so the sage brought Eve back to life. Eve woke up eight years back in time, remembering everything that had happened in her recent past life, and was determined to correct every wrong that had seen the death of the Imperial family.
