The Man’s Decree starts with Jared getting out of prison. He had served a total of three years there and had no interaction with his parents, therein he wondered what they were up to. During his time in prison, he was friends with a person named Draco who was borderline insane for everyone but Jared. Draco claimed that he was the leader of the Dragon Sect and knew all kinds of things about medicine, geography, and cultivation. He sets Jared on the path to learn the Focus Technique and gives him a ring with a dragon symbol on it, which was to be shone on Nameless Island in July for opportunities.
Though that opportunity was still months away. Jared recalled how he had gotten to jail while he took steps towards his house to meet his parents. Three years ago, he was walking home with Sandy Gibson, his girlfriend of two years, and they were discussing marriage. Both of them were friends at university and progressed from there.
While strolling, they came across a drunk Leyton Scott, who was rich and spoiled enough to make physical advances on Sandy without considering Jared’s presence. Jared, in response, smashed his head with a brick, and Leyton being as powerful as he was, called the police and had Jared arrested.
Knocking on the door of his house, he was greeted with the presence of an old lady with white hair and blind eyes. Not knowing how his mother got to this state, he informed her that it was her son Jared. She cried in response and gave Jared an explanation as to what happened. Even after jailing Jared, the Scott family was not satisfied with just that and demanded one million in damages from his family.
Jared’s father was driven to a street cleaning job and his mother was blind from her daily tears. The Gibson family had no intention of helping despite their honor being defended. Jared knew he had to do something.

Part 1: Jared’s Journey in The Man’s Decree
Jared, being the justice-driven man that he is, had no intention of staying idle and letting his honor be thrown onto the sidewalk. He found out, in an emotionally enticing scene, that his former girlfriend had wedded the man that he defended her from. This was an act that was sinful beyond treachery and displayed the weight of Jared’s betrayal.
With his skill in martial arts and cultivation, Jared sets out on a journey to exact his revenge and defend his honor instead of someone else’s. On his journey, he meets Josephine, a beautiful woman that accompanies him and acts as the new love interest for the novel.
Part 2: Main Characters of The Man’s Decree
Jared is a complicated individual who aspires to achieve power and exact revenge. After spending time in jail trying to protect his girlfriend, he becomes obsessed with improving his physical strength and learns the Focus Technique to help him achieve this goal. Even though Jared is a powerful fighter, his fixation on exacting revenge puts him in jeopardy because it has the potential to consume him entirely.
The depth of thought that went into Jared’s decisions and the breadth of his actions throughout the book combine to make him an intriguing and nuanced protagonist.
While Jared searches for redemption and ways to improve himself, he takes Josephine on his journey. She is incredibly self-reliant, and she is both stunning and brilliant. Josephine is not only a capable fighter but is also dedicated to assisting Jared in achieving the goals he has set for themselves.
Josephine is a woman who is courageous and sure of herself, but she also has vulnerabilities and insecurities, which are what make her a sympathetic and relatable character.

Part 3: Main Theme of The Man’s Decree
The pursuit of power and retribution is “The Man’s Decree’s” central theme. Jared’s motivation to advance in power and exact vengeance on those who have wronged him permeates the entire book. His time spent in prison and his study of the Focus Technique have equipped him with the skills necessary to develop his physical and mental toughness.
Jared’s isolation from those around him increases as he gains strength, though. One of the few bright spots in his life is his relationship with Josephine, but even that is threatened as his obsession with retaliation grows. Nonetheless, a sweet and wholesome romance can be observed which adds a layer of depth that the story gets defined.
The notion of personal development and self-improvement is another significant theme in the book. Jared’s quest for power and retaliation ultimately leads him down a hazardous path, but his study of the Focus Technique and dedication to personal development are commendable.
The book makes the case that while personal development and self-improvement are worthwhile goals, they must be balanced with a positive outlook on life and interpersonal interactions.
