A girl can only handle so much before becoming numb to it all. A family that uses their child, adopted or not, to further their interests, is trash. Selling a girl to a monster because you want to reap benefits, is the exact definition of a bastard family. This is the situation that our protagonist finds herself in. It comes after the betrayal of a boyfriend that she had really cared about and a friend she had trusted. Drama, yeah. The young woman is tricked and as a result, she turns up pregnant as a surrogate.

Five years later, she is forced to marry a man who is known all over as an ugly and sick person. This woman, nonetheless, takes the task on and enters the house of the sociopath. However, what she finds is not a murder scene or an ugly beast, rather she finds two beautiful boys and their handsome father. These people are the same ones that she would soon realize, have a connection with her.

Part 1: Plot Summary of My Three Darlings

My Three Darlings: Eliza and Beau

The story follows Eliza who is tricked by her close friend into having a surrogate baby. In the process, Eliza gains one traumatic memory that she will not soon forget. She is made to get intimate with a man who she has never met or seen before, and he violates her. Eliza gives birth to the children and five years later, she comes face to face with the same man who gave her PTSD. How? Well, Eliza is put in a position where she has no choice but to marry a man that society called a hideous sicko or something along that line. Eliza agrees to marry the man in exchange for her so-called family leaving her alone in the future. They would never have any cause to call her over in order to make her do things for them.

Eliza goes to the house of the infamous monster who it was said, murdered women when he bedded them. She enters the house and not long after she meets the ‘master’. Basically, Eliza encounters a monster in the dark and runs away. It should be said that very few people could manage such a terrifying sight, especially a woman who already had a related trauma.

Fate

Though she ran away, Eliza still came back. She steeled her resolve and knocked on the door once more. She was resigned to her fate and would keep the promise she made. This time, the one who opens the door is an adorable child. Eliza subsequently gets to know that everything the public knew about the rich and hideous bachelor, is complete nonsense.

The man is a total hottie, and he has two cute twins. It will take a while for everything to come out into the light, but Eliza was on the journey to discovering the home that she had always hoped for. Her children were just right in front of her, and the healing that was long overdue was not far away. However, can this family overcome the challenges that are sure to come along the way?

Part 2: Meet the Main Character of My Three Darlings

Eliza

My Three Darlings: Eliza

She is a woman with her heart set on nothing and everything at the same time. She has a life that is honestly pretty uncomfortable based on the fact that even her own parents are unreliable bastards looking for profit and only willing to give up the non-biological child to get it. Yes, that is correct, Eliza is only adopted, therefore they were fine using her to get money from Mr. Valentine. However, they were hesitant to use their biological daughter, Esme, in the same capacity.

Betrayed

What sort of existence did Eliza come to, where her boyfriend whom she had fought so strongly for, would turn around and get with Eliza’s best friend? He even called Eliza dirty for having kids for another man. Truly, it’s hard to escape the stigma of childbirth outside of wedlock, but it is the worst thing to hear it from someone you thought cared about you. Nevertheless, it was all according to the plan of Eliza’s friend.

Seriously, this world is full of demons disguised as human beings. Eliza is dealt a crappy hand by the universe time and time again, but then it all culminates into something extraordinarily beautiful. It was basically a torturous road down to paradise. The useless people were thrown away one by one to make way for the family that Eliza was meant to have. Her past might have been full of darkness, but the darkness did not define Eliza. Her future was full of light.

Part 3: Exciting Chapter from My Three Darlings

Chapter Eight

My Three Darlings: Mr. Valentine

Eliza was confused because she had just seen Briant go out for a walk. So, who was the child devouring the food? Eliza sat down in front of him and looked at his face. She confirmed aloud that he was not Briant.

Demarion immediately stopped eating and claimed he was Briant. However, Eliza wasn’t fooled, the two children had wildly different personalities. Demarion knew it was useless to continue lying so he told her the truth.

Eliza was shocked to realize that she’d married a man that had kids, not to mention they were so good-looking whereas their father was a different story. Demarion was caught and couldn’t say why he was pretending to be Briant. It was just then that Briant came back. Demarion immediately ran away while Briant explained.

Speechless, Eliza listened to the boy and caught herself. She needed to tell Mr. Valentine that she wasn’t mature enough to be the children’s stepmother.

The Butler misunderstood her intentions and thought she was eager to see Mr. Valentine because they were married. Eliza stared at the butler, who was as giddy as a child.

While waiting for Mr. Valentine to return, she watched some comedy films which made her laugh and improved her mood.

That was until she noticed the really handsome man whom she’d had an affair with, enter the house through the front door. Eliza became alert as she asked him why he was back again. With a cold tone, the man retorted with the question of her identity and why she was in the house.

Eliza told him clearly that the home belongs to Mr. Valentine, and she is his new wife.

Then. the man indifferently introduced himself as Beau Valentine.

The story is marvelously written and draws attention to the power of rumors and idle gossip. The protagonist must tread carefully as she tries to navigate a world that she is completely new to. If this book is to your liking, I recommend you see His Redemption.
