Agnes faces two jerks in Chapter 10 of Heartstrings On Fire novel. The first jerk she encounters is none other than Jared, her “new” (hopefully) CEO sweetheart. Agnes has to cover Jared’s love bite marks with turtlenecks to protect herself. Alas, Jared laughs inside and becomes turned on by Agnes’ appearance.

Agnes’ face will turn out to be ghost-like every time she goes out from the CEO’s room.
It is because the CEO has made her scream. This mysterious CEO might even torture Agnes while not letting her see his full face. Regardless of this, Agnes never knows what she has done wrongly to deserve such mistreatment. In Heartstrings On Fire novel, her other coworkers can only sympathize with her while planning some night-outs.
The department’s dinner is one of Agnes’ favorite ways to get away from the nasty CEO. However, Agnes’ happy feelings don’t last long. Hot, hot, and hot! Those are three words that I love to use when I describe the feelings the author tries to invoke to the readers upon reading Heartstrings On Fire novel. It all starts with the seemingly innocent (or classic, perhaps) office life of an intern who has just worked there for one month.
Reading the first few paragraphs of Heartstrings On Fire novel gives me the impression of a failed intern. Agnes Pritchard’s college major should be the news department, and I feel she is unlucky when the company places her in the secretary department. Not only the department doesn’t suit her college major, but the department also has a nasty CEO who only wants Agnes’ body.
Another thing about secretaries is that they work the closest to the CEO. I see such a theme since the first few chapters of Heartstrings On Fire novel. So, you are dead wrong when you think all secretaries do is organize the company’s documents, and files, input data, and other administrative jobs. They have to deal with the CEO, sometimes to a similar point to Agnes’ experience.
Jared’s appearance as the CEO is yet another highlight, I spot in Heartstrings On Fire novel. I have spotted this highlight since Chapter 2, where his identity as Agnes’ CEO becomes more evident. Agnes’ love life has been on fire since then, and nobody knows when the burning flame will lose the spark.
Part 4: Read A Dreame Novel That Is Similar To Heartstrings On Fire Novel
Heartstrings On Fire novel is one of the office-based novels with detailed descriptions of the MCs at work. It also contains some adult-only scenes of the romantic relationships between the CEO and the female MC.
Here, I believe Agnes Pritchard isn’t that attractive when I compare her with other interns and supervisors in her office. Yet, she becomes “The Chosen One”. At the same time, I haven’t seen any clear reasons why Jared burns with such passion when he sees Agnes undressing herself.
So, I sought an alternative novel on the Dreame platform. I found CEO’s: Office Secrets after spending a couple of minutes browsing Dreame’s dashboard to find a matching novel. CEO’s: Office Secrets is also an office-based romance novel. Yet, the fashion industry as the novel’s central element intensifies the “ugly duckling female versus prince charming” type of relationship dynamics.
Purity Evans of CEO’s: Office Secrets might be as pure as her name: She has a bland fashion taste, a quite chubby (and thus, tend to be unpleasant) figure, and she doesn’t do make-up. Yet, she attracts Scott Webb, her CEO, because of her difficulty to be tamed. On top of all, Purity makes Scott comfortable in approaching her. CEO’s: Office Secrets also has several adult-only moments that spice the story.
