He clearly told her that they were finished completely and had nothing to do with each other now that her family’s name had been smeared with mud. Catelyn pleaded for him to help her father and the man finally agreed. However, he wanted something in exchange for his help; Catelyn was to spend a night with him.
Catelyn steeled her resolve and did as Jamie asked. However, she did not take the time to look carefully at the face of the man she had slept with. Then, not a while after, she got the information that her father had been in a sudden car accident on the way to the prison facility. Only a short period after, she learned that she was pregnant. Ollie had tears welling up in his eyes as he spoke to Catelyn. He told her that his mother was a forbidden topic in the Mason Estate. He spoke so sadly about the tough time he had because his mother wasn’t around. He sobbed in a helpless manner and Catelyn felt a piece of her heart being ripped out. She pulled Ollie into her arms. Then, she reassured the child that his mother didn’t abandon him. She told him that he did have a mother and it was all an accident.
Ollie picked that statement and held on to it; dazedly, he asked how she knew it was all an accident. Catelyn answered his question, telling him there was a huge chance that she is his mother. She made sure to clarify to the child that she never abandoned him.
Catelyn knew there was no other possibility that could explain why two unrelated children looked so much alike; Ollie had to be Miles’ twin. She apologized to Ollie that she had no idea that he was still alive. The boy said he’d been called a bastard, and Catelyn lamented.
She tried to piece everything together. She had spent the night with Mason four years prior and got pregnant. But how did her son end up with Cedrick? Unless he was the man from that night. She found out that Miles and Ollie had gotten a DNA test, and she also got a paternity test done as well. But she didn’t need it to tell her that Ollie was hers.
