Part 1: The Storyline of Reverend Insanity
Reverend Insanity may seem like a story of a crazy man, determined to be cruel in his search for power. It is actually the story of a man who is adamant in changing his humble condition and become powerful and feared by enemies.
Fang Yuan is a skilled and clever man. Throughout his life, he has dedicated most of his time trying to cultivate the Spring Autum Cicada which would make him an immortal demon in his next life.
The novel’s debut depicts his fierce death at the hands of his enemies. They are merciless towards Fang Yuan, as he had killed his families. The number of people who were murdered by Yuan was unknown, but it is said to be thousands. He doesn’t fight anymore, he is ready to evolve into a demon. He only hopes that his Spring Autumn Cicada was fully refined.
Yuan wakes up with no regrets, now a full demon in disguise. With the help of his Gu, a venomous insect who can transform into various other insects, he will battle all his enemies and stop all plots against him. His immorality will be his companion throughout the novel, as he can’t bring himself to have any feelings towards those who wish to give him a hand.

The author of Reverend Insanity has created well rounded characters, which interconnect very well throughout the novel. Their dialogues are entertaining and full of substance. The author uses the characters to better portray the essence of the narrative.
Fang Yuan
Fang Yuan is the lead character of Insanity Novel. For the first five hundred years of his life, he stayed in Gu World. He spends his life refining the Spring Autumn Cicada whose power could make him come back as a demon in a future life.
When being cornered by his enemies, Yuan uses the Cicada to travel back in time to the days when he was young, almost five hundred years ago. He perseveres and becomes one of the strongest demons to ever exist.
Yuan’s eyes are pitch black, reveling his demonic side and his hair is long and black as well. He is ugly at first but, after snatching the sovereign immortal body, he will be handsome. His cleverness helps him throughout the book, managing to overthrow his enemies and win battle after battle.
While being in the Gu world, Fang Yuan gets very wise, learns to only depend on himself and to take advantage of any kind of situation. Having the chance to relive his youth, he may choose to take a different path in life or repeat his previous mistakes.
Xue Er
Xue Er is a Gu immortal. She is very young and has beautiful traits. Her eyes are blue, as her hair and she is a powerful being who lives in Sovereign Grotto Heaven. In the snowman tribe, she was the most beautiful woman.
Despite being so full of power, Xue Er was rather innocent. She tried living a peaceful life until she wins the cold heart of Fang Yuan. Later in the novel, she gives him a drop of Icy Tears, just as Yuan is about to leave.
I know, romance in such narrative is highly unlikely, especially when we are dealing with the villain of the story, but their interactions are sweet and, just like Xue Er, they are pure.
