The Sweetest Revenge is yet another revenge-based and billionaire novel from Dreame, in which the focus is on a nearly penniless man in his twenties named David Wayne. David Wayne has been living as a live-in son of a woman called Rosie, who happens to be the mom of his girlfriend, Kate.
Both women hate David with passion, because, as a laid-off employee, he has nothing to offer Kate with. Instead, Rosie tries to pair her daughter with another rich man, who happens to be the Sales Director. Furthermore, as we read through The Sweetest Revenge novel, we know that Rosie even plans to stop funding David’s father’s medical fees.
David is more than saddened every time he has to face both women’s wrath and disgust. However, he is surprised the moment he receives a large sum of money from someone claiming as a part of his family, and some bodyguard-like people are appearing before him, calling him the “Young Master”, and showing him the wealth that he inherits from his mother in Dubai.
These entire wealth stories are just the beginning of The Sweetest Revenge novel. Starting from the day he receives that wealth; his distant mom begins to test him with money. We will see how David undergoes each trial in The Sweetest Revenge novel.

Part 1: Meet The Characters Of The Sweetest Revenge
David Wayne
David Wayne, the main character of The Sweetest Revenge, never knows about his family’s true identity until he becomes a laid-off worker. David of The Sweetest Revenge has believed that richness is something far from his reach for so long – after all, he spends his whole life as a mere (later on, laid-off) employee with nothing to offer.
David may come across as a sensitive guy in the first few chapters of the novel. However, I am amazed at the ways he makes Rosie and Kate realize things about their decisions toward him.
Kate and Rosie
Kate of The Sweetest Revenge novel is David’s (later, former) significant other, and Rosie is Kate’s mother. David has to stay as the live-in son for Rosie, not only because he wants to please Kate, but also because this mother-and-daughter pairing is the family who helps in funding for David’s sick father.
Both women are gold-diggers, and as the mother of the family, Rosie’s outlook is more traditionalist and rigid regarding a man’s wealth. They ditch David just because he looks like a beggar, and then, they beg David to come back the moment they realize how a billionaire David truly is.
John Barkley
At first, we know John Barkley of The Sweetest Revenge as the rich guy whom Rosie approves of Kate more than the good-for-nothing David. John is a Sales Director in a reputable company named Kossler Group who has just returned from overseas, and he has a Master of Arts in his educational background.
John consistently displays false humility throughout the book’s chapter. The only thing that keeps Rosie hooked to him is his wealth, which is, unfortunately, not a match against David’s. Only by showing his wealth in front of the two materialistic women that David can beat John.
Part 2: Story Of The Sweetest Revenge
The stories of The Sweetest Revenge novel are focused around a laid-off man in his twenties named David Wayne. He barely makes anything from his job, so, he has been living a moderate life. David also becomes a live-in son in Kate’s, his girlfriend’s, home. There, Kate lives with her mother, Rosie, and both of them hate David with passion.
These two women refer to David as the “good-for-nothing” live-in son. Rosie, Kate’s mother, even goes further as we read the chapters in The Sweetest Revenge. First, she threatens to stop her support in funding David’s sick father. Second, she already sets her daughter up with John Barkley, a rich man from the Kossler Group who has just returned from his overseas trip.
All of a sudden, in The Sweetest Revenge, David receives a great sum of money, which it’s followed up with a call from someone claiming to be his mother’s butler. This unknown caller says to him that his mother is a businesswoman from Dubai, which further shocks David since David has always believed that his parents are elsewhere.
With the newly-acquired riches that David gets, David is ready to deliver The Sweetest Revenge for the two materialistic women, plus, that one apparently-rich guy named John. He is also ready to transfer his father to a better facility, and fire that one annoying nurse who still thinks he is good for nothing.
Part 3: The Author Of The Sweetest Revenge
Florence Gardner is the author of The Sweetest Revenge. When I see the author’s name, I think of the possibility of the name being either the real name or the pen name of the author of The Sweetest Revenge. I am sure that the author is a female due to the name choice, regardless if it’s a real name or not.
However, I am shocked by the ways that Florence pictures David in The Sweetest Revenge novel. Had I never read the author’s name, I would think that the author is a male. David’s male vibes are so spot on, unlike most female authors who tend to picture the main male characters as rather effeminate individuals.
It doesn’t matter if The Sweetest Revenge is the only novel that Florence writes. The Sweetest Revenge itself has already got more than 57,000K reads. As for Florence herself, her profile on Dreame platform has already got more than 200,000K visitors.
When I compare the readers’ times of reading versus the visitor counts, I start to think that the emerging visitor numbers are because of Florence’s only novel.
I can see that Florence Gardner is a focused author. She may not write anything in her bio or have any profile pictures, yet, she consistently updates The Sweetest Revenge novel. Once this novel’s status has reached its completion, I would hope for more similar novels from Florence, especially with a strong and silent man like this novel’s David as the main character.
