I was honestly excited to read Revelation Of Light And Dark because the paranormal was my favorite genre, also its book title was catchy for me.
The Revelation Of Light And Dark is the first book of the Chronicles of the Stone Veil. Sawyer Bennet transported us here to a world where light and dark were at war.
Well, this is actually a very common premise for the paranormal genre yet the conflict of light and darkness always has its appeal. Magic, mystery, suspense, and romance collide all here in The Revelation Of Light And Dark.
“Now Im faced with a new reality that’s as implausible as it is fantastical. Filled with realms and veils, light and dark, fae and daemons, gods and angels-things I don’t understand but am forced to acknowledge.”
The main plot of The Revelation Of Light And Dark was about a woman who was gifted with a special ability yet she isn’t aware of her own power nor of her true identity, and much more of the real face of a world she’s in.

Part 1: Plot Summary of The Revelation of Light And Dark
In The Revelation Of Light And Dark, we meet Finley Porter, a woman who can spot creatures that are either incredibly beautiful or horrifyingly grotesque wandering around them. She tried her whole life to repress these visions of hers while assuring herself that she is not insane.
Until Carrick Byrne, a wealthy and enigmatic benefactor approaches her and promises to help her in exchange for a fee. Through Carrick, Finley discovers that, far from being crazy, she is the only one who has the ability to lift the barrier that separates people from fae creatures in order to see what lies beneath.
In The Revelation Of Light And Dark, Finley is drawn into a world that hardly any people are aware even exists. A place where faeries and demons live, where humans are unaware of the dangers mixed with both dark and light. Finley is never certain of Carrick’s identity or purpose.
She is unsure whether he is a fairy, a human, or something in between. As she makes her way through this new world that has existed for millennia, Carrick serves as her business partner, her instructor, and her tormentor.
Part 2: Main Protagonists of The Revelation of Light And Dark
Finley Porter
” I knew I was different. My entire existence has been a lie.”
Finley Porter of The Revelation Of Light And Dark is a cool character. I should say she is the revelation here. I like the way she was crafted, the slow development of her personality, and her skill. At least here in The Revelation Of Light And Dark, we aren’t given a weak female protagonist. For me, Finley is the kind of female lead who can slay her own dragons.
She just needs to learn her powers first. I like that concept of her. She is special yet she isn’t aware of her own strength. So, here in The Revelation Of Light And Dark, we got a female lead who has a lot to deal with – her identity, her powers, and the reality of the world that surrounds her.
Carrick Byrne
He is the rich and mysterious male lead in The Revelation Of Light And Dark. He doesn’t like Finley at first but he’s certain that she’s not crazy and that what she’s seeing are not hallucinations. Carrick is the first who sees Finley’s ability to see past the veil and see past the glamor that Fae and Daemons can put up to appear as humans.
There is a lot more to discover about Carrick Byrne of The Revelation Of Light And Dark. His character was quite complex to comprehend at first.
He appears to be acting with ulterior motives. He seems not trustworthy, but I believe that is intentional for the author to show what’s beyond mere humanity as many otherworldly beings are involved and Carrick’s role in both their world and Finley’s is complicated by his attraction to her, even though he doesn’t trust her.
Yet, despite the complexities, I find Carrick’s character-building awesome. I’m always into a character guy who’s neither light nor dark. I find that characterization always interesting.
Part 3: Review of The Revelation of Light And Dark
In The Revelation Of Light And Dark, the conflict between Finley and Carrick was enjoyable to me. Their relationship grew stronger as they spent more time together and gradually changed. There is magic, as well as conflict and annoyance.
It was fantastic to observe how their banter was developing and becoming more entertaining. We could see that Finley mattered more to Carrick than his original goals when he was cold and detached, uncaring, and mean most of the time.
This is perhaps where the charm of The Revelation Of Light And Dark lies. Here we are given two characters whose love story wasn’t love at first sight, whose motive at first was not love but then eventually end up falling for each other.
A love story between a searcher and a mentor, one who is not trustworthy and one who has trust issues. I like that kind of plot concept and it gets me.
Part 4: Recommending A Similar Book To The Revelation of Light And Dark
“What happens when God grants a child to the Angel of Death? The first and only approved Nephilim. With extraordinary and unique powers. Will that child be the bringer of chaos or resolution?”
If you love the paranormal theme of The Revelation Of Light And Dark, I’m sure you too will love the collision of paranormal creatures here in The Last Nephilim. Fae. Angels. Demons. Grimm reapers and romance. It has them all. I actually enjoy this hidden gem too. The Last Nephilim is a love story between the angel of death, Azrael, and a beautiful human nurse.
Azrael, the angel of death, was savage in his own way. Creatures trembled at his presence, yet he met a woman who was not scared of him, even brave enough to look him in the eyes. And worst, when he meets her gaze, he finds her to be the most beautiful soul he had ever seen.
The Last Nephilim will transport you into the world both of the sinners and divine, the light and darkness. If there’s one similar thing to The Revelation Of Light And Dark which I like about this book is that here in The Last Nephilim you could get to witness a more intense conflict of light and dark.
