The stories of The Half Blood Luna are focused on a half-blood 17 years old Omega she-wolf named Ella from the Grey pack. Ella’s pack in The Half Blood Luna novel is named after the current Alpha werewolf. Alpha Grey and his Beta, Sam, are two bullies in Ella’s pack, particularly Alpha Grey.

Alpha Grey has instructed all low-ranked werewolves like Ella to remain as slaves, and Ella should be subject to Alpha Grey at all costs, even when the sadistic new Alpha is whipping her and never listens to her requests.

Grey’s abusive behaviors don’t stop in calling Ella “servant“ – he also takes delight in Ella’s frightened face when he said he was the one killing her father – we will know more about this one as we read through The Half Blood Luna novel.

All Ella wishes are just a peaceful life free of Alpha, Beta, and other ranked wolves. So, she attempts to run away from Alpha Grey and starts a normal life as a human. She steals some sums of money first and makes her traces of running away from the self-absorbed and high-handed Alpha as invisible as possible.

Just when Ella is about to start her new life, the stories in The Half Blood Luna continue by telling us that Ella encounters another Alpha named Alpha Klaus. How will the relationship between the two turn out in The Half Blood Luna’s novel?

Part 1: Meet The Characters Of The Half Blood Luna

Ella

The Half Blood Luna Ella

Ella, the half-blood Omega she-wolf from the Grey pack, is the main female character of The Half Blood Luna. Her father gets killed by Alpha Grey, who is the current Alpha in her pack.

Due to her Alpha’s orders to make her remain a servant and also her Omega rank, Ella can’t shift, and a basic healing factor is her only ability as a werewolf. Even though Ella is already 17 years old, she is wolfless, so, she can’t shift and have the same abilities as her other she-wolf friends.

Ella from The Half Blood Luna novel is a typical kind-hearted female protagonist. She is not a dominant person, yet, she has an opportunistic streak in her blood. For example, Ella steals one dollar per day from Alpha Grey who has abused her, so she can flee from her pack.

The Alphas

The Half Blood Luna The Alphas

I decided to group the Alphas of The Half Blood Luna into one character topic because both of them share equal portions of the stories as the main male characters. Both of the Alphas in The Half Blood Luna also have domineering and controlling characteristics, even though both Alphas manifest their characteristics differently.

Alpha Grey from Ella’s pack is not a nice Alpha, as he treats other lower-ranked werewolves as replaceable and playable servants. It is also the reason why is he so abusive toward Ella. Even though Alpha Klaus from the Crescent Moon pack is also a domineering and controlling werewolf, at least he tries to save Ella through his pieces of advice.

Part 2: Story Of The Half Blood Luna

The Half Blood Luna Novel

Have you ever read books with lengthy character introductions? The Half Blood Luna is one of the books. The lengthy introductions of Ella’s background, including her family history, are the things that make The Half Blood Luna novel unique when compared to other novels that typically only have one introductory chapter.

As a result of Ella’s introductory parts in The Half Blood Luna, we start to see the Alphas and other supporting characters in Chapter 2. Chapter 2 (and, later on, also Chapter 3) of The Half Blood Luna also introduces us to Ella’s life in the Grey pack, and also the current Alpha, Alpha Grey, who is physically abusive to Ella and doesn’t regret it.

As we read through the book, we also learn that this book is full of trigger warnings on abusive scenarios, at least from Chapter 2 until some middle chapters of the book. It also gives vivid pictures of Ella’s attempts to escape from the current Alpha of the Grey pack of The Half Blood Luna, particularly starting from Chapter 7.

Unlike any other werewolf romance novels where we get to see the good guys from the beginning, we know Alpha Klaus of the Crescent Moon packs a little bit later. However, I would say that the overall stories of The Half Blood Luna book are thrilling, challenging, and also relatable.

Part 3: Meet The Author Of The Half Blood Luna

The Half Blood Luna The Black Daisy

When we see the name of the author of The Half Blood Luna (“The Black Daisy“), we immediately know that the author is using a pen name. A daisy sketch with an all-black background doesn’t only become a profile picture for this author; instead, I also think that the author’s profile picture also resembles the stories that the author of The Half Blood Luna tries to present.

Daisies are unlike roses, lavenders, and lilies – the flower species that we can see everywhere we go. When we digest the daisy imageries and compare the flower with the main female character of this novel that The Black Daisy has written, we know that Ella is like a living daisy.

First, she is an Omega, a low-ranked werewolf, so, the white-colored daisies suit her. Second, Ella also lives in a “black-colored“ background living in the Grey pack.

However, this novel isn’t the only book from The Black Daisy. The same author of The Half Blood Luna also writes another story that the author posts on Dreame platform and the main male character is also an abusive and domineering werewolf.

Another interesting thing that I get from this story is the alter-world scenario that the author tries to illustrate. It will be peaceful for half-blood Omega she-wolves like Ella to live a human life, for example, just like the peaceful world dream of the main female character in another book from the same author.
