He pulled her tight against him and said, “I will defend your heart and your soul with everything in me.”

-Wild Signby Patricia Brigg

Patricia Brigg’s Wild Signan exquisite dark urban fantasy is the sixth installment in the ‘Alpha and Omega ‘series.

The story has an element of mystery combined with horror and thrill from the beginning which gets stronger by the end of the book.

It is relatively fast-paced and enthralling. Moreover, we got a little bit of a crossover of the author’s other series, Mercy Thompson.

So if you are a fan of mystery-filled fun engaging books with good character arcs and decent action, then this is your right stop.

Part 1: Something You Don’t Know About Wild Signs

Patricia Brigg’s Wild Sign is another urban fantasy with a hint of mystery and thrill where the main characters Anna and Charles investigate a community in Northern California that has completely disappeared and nobody knows the reason behind it.

Wild Sign- Unknown Facts

The case was assigned to them by FBI agents as the land was owned by the members of the pack and relatively fell under their jurisdiction.

Later on, Anna, Charles, and the third wolf Tad tried to solve the mystery.

It won’t be a lie if I would say that this book is one of the finest additions to this series.

Brigg has mastered the art of storytelling and world-building. There were times when I wanted to live in the world created by her. But as we know how dangerous it is, I dropped the idea.

Jokes apart, apart from great character development the author gave some fun details, especially that fleeting appearance of sasquatch.

Apart from this she successfully changed my mind about some characters. For example – Leah, although I almost hated her in the past series but ended up being sympathetic toward her by the end of this part.

She has also filled us with Bran’s life and choices. Except that there were many revelations, a few characters took big leaps and tried to resolve situations from the past.

I especially loved the part where the author skillfully and naturally conveyed the message of women’s empowerment. She showed how courageous a woman can be, within themselves and with their partners.

Part 2: Why Is It So Popular andWhatsThe Character?

The story begins with the mystery of a woman who went hiking with her dog in Northern California. She was searching for a place that her dad used to call- home.

The story maintained its thrill and she found nothing but a piece of information that her father left the small town named Wild Sign along with the other people who lived there.

The world-building is so expertly done by the author that it felt surreal.

Later the thrill was well maintained and two of the FBI agents paid a surprise visit to the main characters of the story, Anna and Charles.

They told them that the FBI is looking for an alliance with werewolves.

From here, we get to see decent action in the story.

They suggested that maybe they were interested in helping them in the investigation of the reason behind the disappearance of the town- Wild Sign as it was a part of the land that was owned by Marrock’s pack.

Wild Sign- Part 2

At that time the author revealed the concept of hidden creatures that have power through song and music in this book.

The thrill and mystery were maintained and we ended up wondering whether Anna and Charles will agree to help them or if the pack of werewolves themselves was the reason behind the disappearance of that town -Wild Sign?

Characters of Wild Sign

Anna

Wild Sign- Anna

She is a very rare omega wolf as she had a calming effect on the members of the pack.

This was perfectly shown when she played a vital role in bringing peace and happiness to Bran’s whole pack.

Her character became more confident in this installment. In addition, she was persistent as even after facing so many challenges, she never quit fighting.

Charles Cornick

Wild Sign- Charles

He is the youngest son of Bran Cornick aka Marrock who is the alpha of all the werewolves.

Although he is very dominant, he is always toned down when it comes to Anna.

He healed her broken soul with his love and devotion.

“Charles belonged to Anna with all his complicated and uncomplicated heart.”

-Wild Signby Patricia Brigg

Both Charles and Anna teamed up together in this part of the series. Their relationship continues to flourish and is relatively drama free.

They dealt with every situation together.

Tad

Wild Sign- Tad

He is one of the strongest wolves in Bran’s pack. He had the natural defense against magic. He had added a fun element to the story and became a great addition to Charles and Anna’s team for solving the mystery.

Part 3: Conclusion

This book is one of the finest works of the author Patricia Brigg. Her skillful storytelling and art of world-building kept me at the edge from the beginning.

The series, ‘Alpha and Omega’ never gets old and somehow it is getting better with every next part.

Wild Sign- Conclusion

Somehow we got more details about Bran and Leah’s relationship.

Although Leah’s painful past was revealed, there were still a few things that needed to be revealed in the next part of this series and the cliffhanger kept us at bay.

So if you are willing to read a book with a perfect balance of mystery, action, romance, and humor then this is the best option for you!
