I had been skeptical about the book before reading it for I was not so much a fan of slow-burn romance, but when I picked it up, I could not stop. By sin I rise has a classical storyline and it is best enjoyed with a loved one, perfect for this season of love.
By sin I rise began when a five-year-old Maddox, the son of a mafia biker witnessed the gruesome murder of his father and his father’s men at the hands of Luca Vitiello, a very powerful and influential man in the city.
Scarred by this event, and traumatized beyond what words could express, little Maddox and his mother sought protection from Earl, Maddox’s Uncle who was also the head of his gang.
Along the line, Marcella, the daughter of Luca Vitiello was just beginning to understand what it truly meant to be the daughter of the most powerful and feared man in the city. She was frustrated and tired, and she hated her father and every bit of the life she was living.
And above all, she was lonely, very lonely.
But when Maddox, who had been planning his revenge against Luca Vitiello seized an opportunity to kidnap her to punish Luca and make him aware of what was coming his way; retribution.

Meanwhile, Maddox and his brotherhood found out about Marcella’s engagement with Giovanni and that was the first time Maddox saw her picture. He was convinced her photos were manipulated for no one could be that pretty.
