The story tells of Hamel who died on a mission but is reincarnated into the life of a descendant of his former rival. It’s three hundred years later, however, he still can’t be compared to that person who made him understand the disparity between a mundane and a genius. Will he ever surpass that person? He has an advantage with the memories of his past life, so if anything, this time would be different. Name of Eugene Lionhart will finish the mission that he was unable to complete.
“Damn Reincarnation” is a story of redemption. It emphasizes growth and maturity of the mind when it’s not compared to another. A lot of people are crippled by an intense inferiority complex. They look at the possessions of others, hating the future that could have been theirs if only they were smarter, more good-looking, or more powerful. It is a state of being that usually is accompanied by clinical depression. But, in Hamel’s case, it was accompanied by severe anger and self-reproach. However, it is worth it to know that a bright future doesn’t always manifest with genius.
By being consumed with thoughts of self-pity, shame, or even anger, rarely do we find time to be outstanding. A future is not built on comparisons. Now with a second chance at life, and without the pressure from that outstanding person, Eugene can forge a great path.

Part 1: Plot Summary of Damn Reincarnation
The follows Hamel, who embarked on a mission with his friends, but unfortunately wound up injured. With a hole through his chest, he heard the voice of his rival thank him just before his passing. Hamel had been on a mission to rid the world of demon lords. This mission was embarked on by himself and his friends. Among these friends was the one person he couldn’t stand more than anyone else, Vermouth Lionheart. Hamel hated his type of person the most. Maybe the universe was pissed at him because Hamel soon after reincarnated into the descendant of this person, and he had his past life memories.
Hamel is born into the collateral line of descendants three hundred years later. It is an obscure line that practically all the others disrespect. Hamel is reborn as Eugene Lionhart. With the awareness of his adult memories, Eugene listened to the maid tell stories about the hero, Vermouth, and the stupid Hamel. Words cannot describe the intense anger that Eugene felt as he heard those stories. All those distorted facts made his blood boil; More so than the fact that he was a descendant of an obscure line because he was not allowed certain privileges that only the main line could get.
Eugene trained hard and early: From the age of seven, he was already training. With these efforts, he was able to achieve remarkable results in strength and physique, especially for a thirteen-year-old child.
Part 2: Meet The Main Character of Damn Reincarnation
Eugene Lionhart (Hamel)
He is a man with a penchant for self-doubt and self-pity. There was a time when he thought he was a genius. But those times ceased to last after one person came into the picture. This person was a true genius and so incredibly good at everything. No matter what he did, Hamel could not surpass him. Hamel felt an unbelievable amount of pressure to be good at something to the extent that he could almost see nothing but this one goal. It’s probably why they wrote him as stupid in the damned nursery book.
As a baby, Hamel had listened to his nurse tell him the story of “stupid Hamel”, himself. The story captured only three things right. One was Hamel’s crappy attitude to his friends, the second was the rivalry between himself and Vermouth. Well, that was pretty much a one-sided rivalry.
The third thing that the book captured correctly is the fact that Hamel laid down his life for his friends. That was how he died. With their identity of Eugene, he will now experience life differently from what he was used to.
Eugene always bears a frown on his face, and always focused on training. It was to the extent that even his father in this life held some fear of this child with a toned physique and remarkable strength. The man felt sorry every time he watched the boy train because as an obscure branch of descendants, they’re limited so much. Even with his gift, his son would not be allowed to cultivate it. What he doesn’t know is that the nearly fifty-year-old adult in the child’s body could care less about limitations.

Chapter Six
Cian rolled around, spewing vomit everywhere while his sister screamed as she approached him. Nina covered her mouth in shock and Eugene proclaimed he won. He laid down his spear and told Nina to go and get someone. Ciel was unhappy to see her brother in such a sorry state. She confronted Eugene, calling him a coward. Eugene did not say much, but what he did say left her unable to find any retort to his logic. How could he be a coward if the duel started immediately after the handkerchief got dropped?
Eugene had restrained himself with his attack and he told Ciel so. She couldn’t believe that he wasn’t using mana but, was able to do things so heavily. Ciel couldn’t understand how it was possible, but it really did seem so.
Cian was finally able to speak and rebuked Eugene for being a coward. The latter couldn’t be bothered to repeat himself. Eugene could clearly see the thoughts that flitted across Cian’s face, and he reminded Cian of the honor he mentioned earlier. Eugene wasn’t worried that they would try to retaliate. In fact, he welcomed it.
A knight suddenly rushed in with alarm, and he attended to Cian. The boy reported to the male that he lost the duel to the bastard, Eugene. The man bowed his head as he introduced himself as Cian’s tutor and when he asked for an explanation, Eugene introduced himself but did not lower his head. Eugene told him in simple words that Cian disrespected his father. When Cian tried to deny it, Eugene glared, making Cian tremble.
The tutor could not find any faults with what Eugene said and even felt like he wasn’t talking to a child. When he checked Eugene for mana, he felt nothing.
