The protagonist almost seems to be involved in a losing battle, but then it all changes.

Part 1: Plot Summary of Wild Malicious Consort: Good For Nothing Ninth Miss
The story tells of the assassin, Wu Feng. She was betrayed by two people she loved so dearly. To make sure that neither one of them would escape this position, Wu Feng used a needle to detonate the bomb inside of her. It caused an explosion that no one could have survived.
However, she awakens on a cliff, in a pool of blood. Her brain flooded with memories one time, and she understood the circumstances leading to this location. Wu Feng – now Yun Wu. She had been caught in a peculiar situation with the prince, and she was unable to prove her innocence because she didn’t even know how she had made it into the prince’s room in the first place. Nevertheless, it was obvious to Yun Wu that there was foul play. This didn’t matter to the three women who wanted her gone. They had flogged her, cut her, and then dragged her undead corpse into the forest so that the magical beasts would take a bite of it and finish her off.
Fortunately, it doesn’t turn out that way. It was unknown where it came from, the strength that was waning just moments earlier. Yun Wu suddenly felt energy flowing through her. But, more than that, she felt rage. The beasts that surrounded her heard her roar and only hesitated. When they pounced, they were thrown away like crumpled paper. This woman has clearly had enough. She wanders in the forest for a few days and meets the man who she was aware had been spying on her. Now, she belonged to him.

Yun Wu (Wu Feng)
She is a woman adept at fighting to save her life. Wu Feng’s character was always one surprise after another. She had nothing but her own fighting skills to protect her in this new world. Or so she thought. The former host had suffered humiliation and pain; Yun Wu remembered everything. It would serve as a reference when she got her hands on the vicious people that were her sisters in this world.
Her body had evidently died after undergoing such ruthless treatment. Yet, the woman was still breathing. Although she needed to take some substances to keep her body from rotting, she was very much alive. The life she lived in the forest had her drinking the blood of the magic beasts to nourish her undead self.
She just needed to recuperate in the forest. Then, after she emerged, it would be over for those people. Yun Wu never expected to be captured again. The man whose gaze she felt, had finally shown himself. Yun Wu was no match for him. He took her and clearly expressed his claim about her. He healed her wounded body in his blood pool even.
He sensed in her a similar spirit to his. Yun Wu is a tenacious young woman, deadly to her enemies. She is the type of direct person who does not waste time on words. Her desires are quite simple. She has little to no materialistic tendencies. All of this might not have been significant in her previous life, but it was enhanced after betrayal, death, torture, and death again.

Chapter Six
The two people fell into the water. Yun Wu choked on a mouthful of water and began to cough. The man wrapped one arm around her waist and tilted her chin. He teased her and proclaimed that he, Long Qingxie is her man. He went to kiss her but paused. He looked down and found a sharp-edged rock resting above his heart. He was dangerous, but she wasn’t simple either. She shut him down with a few words.
Long Qingxie looked into her eyes and was charmed by the ferocity he found in them. He retorted with clear words that expressed his acceptance of the dark path they could walk together, then he joined their lips in a passionate kiss. Yun Wu felt his words echo deeply. Nevertheless, she still attacked, then feinted. Away from the man, she warned him away and took her to leave.
The man laughed at the sight of her fleeing figure. There was no way she could be rid of him so easily. He had a strong determination since the day he’d seen her fight the magical beasts with her broken body. From her, he detected a spirit of his own kind. For this reason, he wanted to make her his.
