You can see how it dries itself and vanishes in the moonlight with an angry scowl. It’s a great moment that’s executed very well. The movie fails to give a clear motive for Van Helsing’s actions. He is simply a monster hunter dispatched to Transylvania to stop Dracula. There is no clear reason why he has to do it, and the movie doesn’t bother to explain it.
Van Helsing is also an unlikeable character and has no motive other than to kill monsters. He is a flat and one-dimensional character lacking depth and emotion.
