The stories of Lord Protector novel revolve around a Great Marshal’s life, whose full name is supposed to be Zeke Williams. Zeke was originally one of the wealthy Williams family before the head of the family kicked him out and jailed him in return for his twin.
Nothing is pleasant about a prisoner’s life, and Zeke’s life in prison fifteen years ago is no different. Nobody has ever bothered themselves to pay attention or even care for Zeke, and not even his family members. It has resulted in Zeke’s miserable life after his release from prison.
Since then, Zeke has lived as a homeless and penniless man. Zeke of the Lord Protector novel goes from a filthy-rich hero-to-be to a near-zero-dollar penniless man. He frequently starves and almost dies from resisting the extreme cold on the street, if a small girl never saved him.
This one small girl, whom he believed to be Emily Clemons, gave him a cotton-padded coat and jade pendant. She also reassured Zeke the coat would keep him from cold, while the pendant would bring him luck. Zeke manifested these affirmations in his heart and visualized the little girl’s shadow whenever he was in trouble.
Fast forward, in Lord Protector novel, Zeke has become the world’s renowned Great Marshal and the God of War. The Nine Nations Treaty of Alliance is about to commence, and soon, Zeke will regain his power, wealth, and influence. He will also go to the Clemons’ residence and offer himself to marry Emily.
Unfortunately, Emily listens to her materialistic and high-handed mother more than Zeke. It doesn’t only result in Zeke’s confusion about who was the girl who saved him, and the possibility that the girl could be somebody else. It also causes him to marry Lacey Hinton instead, who is supposed to be Emily’s bridesmaid.
Lacey was engaged to Jackson, the drug addict perv of the Hamilton family when Zeke took her hand to marry her. How will the Hamilton family react when they figure out about her marriage with Zeke? How will Emily react when she is not ready yet to set Zeke free?

Chapter 14
We can read the Great Marshal’s contribution to society in the chapters before Chapter 14 of Lord Protector novel. Chapter 14 becomes one of the hot chapters because this chapter tells more portions of stories about the Great Marshal’s vulnerability, which is none other than his dark past as a prisoner.
At this point of Lord Protector novel Chapter 14, Great Marshal Zeke’s status is still Lacey’s husband. His revelation as a prisoner in the past triggers Lacey’s shame. Meanwhile, Zeke has brought Daniel, one of Emily’s mother’s trusted people, to the Head of the Department position. Will it mean Emily’s rekindled relationship with Zeke?
Chapter 15
Lord Protector novel Chapter 15 describes how Emily still feels ashamed of getting to know Zeke, even though more people have acknowledged Zeke’s status as the Great Marshal. Zeke has remained silent for quite a long period, and in Chapter 15, he reasserts his authority by telling Lone Wolf he is heading to the plaza outside the hall by himself.
The luxurious cars and bodyguards following Zeke and Lone Wolf are some other contrasting things that put Emily into a more ashamed state of feelings, as she sees Zeke drifting away from her sights. Meanwhile, Lacey and the Hinton family also drive the same way as Zeke and one of Zeke’s men offers them three tickets to the ceremony that Zeke will attend.
Part 3: Some Analysis Of Lord Protector Novel
Shyness and being reserved are two different things despite their look-a-likes. Lacey Hinton of Lord Protector novel is a great example of a shy character. Her shyness and sweetness have been evident since her first dialogues in Lord Protector novel.
She might stutter once in a while. Yet, it only emphasizes her character and differentiates her from other characters, especially Emily, the boisterous lady with a servant-like mindset. It triggers my interest in learning more about her romance stories with Zeke as I flip the page over to the next few chapters.
Lacey’s characteristics don’t diminish Zeke’s importance as the Great Marshal and the God of War. After all, Zeke is still the MC of Lord Protector novel, which means, the scenes in the chapters will always involve him. Yet, I notice one of the running gags in this novel lies in other people doubting Zeke’s status and getting ashamed of him.
Restoring the once-lost power, wealth, and reputation is not something a person can do in one fell swoop, and Zeke’s case in Lord Protector novel is no exception. His imprisonment has caused the public to think differently about him, even though he has climbed up to another level of social status.
So, in Zeke’s case, the God of War doesn’t only indicate his fearsome reputation on the battlefield. It also becomes a gimmick to whoever refuses to believe him. So far, I only see Lone Wolf and a few men on the battlefield recognizing the true him.
As a result, I believe Zeke’s God of War stories can be lengthier to emphasize his power. He deserves way better treatment than mistreatment from the so-called small lady’s family.
Part 4: An Alternative To Lord Protector Novel
Lord Protector novel tells many stories about Zeke’s heroic acts as the God of War. Everybody around him addresses him respectfully as the Great Marshal because that’s how powerful he is. He can control the whole society and remind them about his contributions instantly if only people never brought up his horrible past as a penniless and homeless ex-prisoner.
It is not a from zero-to-hero story. Yet, I still feel happy reading Lord Protector novel. I believe my happiness in reading this novel will improve when I see more story elements that emphasize the godly aspects of the MCs.
Reading Lord Protector novel makes me wonder if I could find a similar novel. Some questions arise in my mind, such as, “What if the gods become the MCs?” and “How will the stories be the same or different from the ones I read in Lord Protector novel?”
