Blindsided by Amy Daws is a contemporary friends-to-lovers romance book about Freya Cooks and her sexy, hot, Scottish footballer friend Maclay Mac Logan.
About a year ago, if anyone told Freya Cooks that she end up being best friends with a famous footballer she would’ve argued that they were pretty much high. But here she was, being best pals with a Scottish footballer, Mac.
They’d first met at Kindred Spirit Boutique, where Freya worked as a seamstress. Mind you, she was used to seeing popular blokes at her workplace, as they came by more often than not, but none of them paid attention to her.
Mac had been the first, and they went from arguing about Netflix movies like old hags to becoming best pals and being a pain in both of their arses while they were at it.
However, while they were good friends who always loved to Netflix and not-chill, Freya, or Cookie as Mac fondly called her, had always insisted that their friendship be kept a secret because her introverted self didn’t want to get caught in scandal or be swarmed up by the paparazzi any time she wanted to have a wea time to herself.
Mac had done his best to keep his promise, until now when he desperately needed a partner to accompany him to an event. All his teammates had partners except for him because he was just as single as Cookie. It wasn’t easy, but he found a way to eventually convince Freya to accompany him.
At the event, after Mac was done chilling with his football lads, they organized a Never have I ever game, putting Freya at a disadvantage because she was a virgin. The rules of the game involved someone drinking if they’d done the deed mentioned in the confession.
In an attempt to look cool and not expose that she was an old virgin maiden she decided to lie about it. At first, it had started well for her until she got carried away and ended up drinking the whole game embarrassing herself and Mac who nearly cringed to death because of her.
The next day when she gets better and Mac confronts her, she confesses that she’s never done the deed before and further explains why. Sums up she’s bad with men and doesn’t know how not to be nervous about them. Mac being as thoughtful as always decides to help her out of this predicament by teaching her how to get a man.
This goes well at first, but they never foresee that one-day they start to catch feelings for each other. Would they succumb to this urge and ruin their friendship? Read to find out more.

Freya Cooks Cookie
Freya Cooks, or cookie as her Scottish footballer mate, Mac fondly calls her, is a seamstress at Kindred Spirits Boutique owned by her friends. She’s chubby and has red hair and freckles on her cheek. Originally from Cornwall, Freya moved to London immediately as soon as she was old enough.
Before London, Freya used to work crazy hours at a bridal shop in Manchester a job she had accepted because she was fresh out of design school.
It was during her time that she met Sloan, a co-owner of Kindred Spirits Boutique. Sloan had hired her and together with Leslie, they built Kindred Spirits Boutique into a shop that welcomed celebrities ranging from affluent residents to famous athletes to politicians. Even movie stars.
While all seemed well with Freya, considering she had a kickass job and an awesome but annoying hot Scottish footballer as a best friend, she never had a love life. This was because she was awful around men.
Anytime she was around a fine lad which she liked, she would get too nervous and then blow things up. This was why at nearly thirty years she was still a virgin.
It is because of this dilemma that her annoying pal Mac offered to coach her so she could catch the Spanish barista who she had a crush on. But what they never saw coming was that they would eventually develop feelings for each other.
Maclay Mac Logan
Maclay Mac Logan is a thirty-four years old redhead Scottish footballer who plays for Bethnal Green F.C. He’s well over six feet, handsome, and has a properly built body with hands covered in tattoos. He’s single and is a native of Dundonald.
He’s also best friends with Freya Cooks, or Cookie as he prefers to call her. He’d been attracted to her first because they had similar interests and because she was free and casual around him unlike another lass he met anytime he was away for matches that caked their faces with makeup just to impress him.

Chapter Five
After the incident that happened at The Harris during the Never Have I Ever game, and Cookie had confessed that she was still a sealed maiden, Mac had decided to help his pal, while also hoping he didn’t have to regret his actions later.
When he went to Freyas to give her coffee he spotted her coming out of the bathroom with just a wea towel covering her voluptuous body. Just the sight of her creamy white legs and busty cleavage had nearly sent blood rushing down his member. He had to distract himself to prevent that.
When Freya returns all dressed up now, he tells her about his plan to be her love coach so she can be able to catch that Spanish barista lad she has always been blabbering about. He tells her about his plan to do this and after some thought, she finally agrees to his idea.
Agreeing on that, Mac takes Freya to a mall where he first teaches her to be proud of her body and curves. They bicker about this as usual before Freya finally learns and then begins to try out the new clothes Mac had bought her. Shed half expected them to fit her shape but surprisingly it does perfectly well.
When Mac comes to inspect her and give his rating, Freya is surprised to see her nipples harden and her insides clench at his presence her body reacting to her best pal’s touch in ways it has never done before.
