When a woman discovers she’s pregnant, there are only two emotions that she can feel.
One is joy for having a blessing that not everyone else in the world is capable of creating. And the other is fear, for its untimely arrival and the mother’s unpreparedness for motherhood.
Victoria Selwyn of Alaric’s One and Only Love novel unfortunately underwent both of such expected reaction. Happy because she could finally create a family of her own, and fear because her husband might ask her to drop it. Torn and confused of the next step she must take, Victoria hid it for a while, hoping helplessly that Alaric would accept it willingly.
However when Claudia, Alaric’s rumored first love and one of the most annoying antagonists in Alaric’s One and Only novel, came back to his arms and made it clear she would assume Victoria’s position soon, she refused to let him know of the verdict she thoroughly thought of.
Her decision? She’s going to keep the baby and will move away as far as possible. No turning back. She’ll cut every ties that connects her with them and will never allow any of them, mostly Alaric, control her life again.

Alaric’s One and Only Love novel revolves around the childhood friends, Victoria Selwyn and Alaric Cadogan, and their hate-to-love marriage story that started out as a plain business deal.
Victoria Selwyn, the main heroine of Alaric’s One and Only Love novel, was the former heiress of the Selwyn clan. She was merely a teenager when her family’s business went bankrupt and she was forced to marry one of bachelor she’s known most of his life, Alaric Cadogan.
Alaric isn’t a stranger. But due to one to few encounters they had, Victoria felt estranged in his presence. The man is her complete opposite. How can she show her high-spirit and outgoing side to someone who speaks three words at maximum? How would they get along when Alaric sees her like a ghost? And most importantly, when he’s forever in love with someone else?
Their differences didn’t stop Alaric’s grandmother from marrying them off. They lived in together and for several years that they’ve shared one roof, Victoria has gotten to know Alaric very well and a slight shift animated their relationship. If Victoria would pick up the signs, she would believe Alaric’s beginning to like her.
However, everything changes when Alaric’s first love and savior, Claudia, returned from overseas and Victoria’s presence became a shadow again. It didn’t help that she’s pregnant and madly in love with Alaric. How could she fight for her right as his wife when the original choice of bride had begun to make changes of Alaric’s life?
Knowing nothing would be left for her if she fight, Victoria abandoned Alaric, hiding their child and leaving for good. What would happen if she discovers Alaric was originally in love with her? Would it motivate her to acknowledge her mistakes and see the world in a different perception? And how would Alaric react once he discovers that the woman who saved him from drowning wasn’t Claudia and it had been Victoria all along?
Part 2: Sneak Peek to the Chapters of Alaric’s One and Only Love
Chapters 1 – 2
Alaric’s One and Only Love novel Chapters 1 – 3 captures the moment where Victoria discovers her pregnancy and the consequences it brought upon her. It’s a common practice to announce such news to everyone involved in the mother’s circle. For Victoria, however, that might do harm than any good as she wasn’t even sure Alaric, the father, would be happy to accept it. Considering how they marriage had been for the last years, Victoria decided to hide it for a moment, continuing on about her day as Alaric’s tasteless and uninteresting wife, attending to his needs as though she was hypnotised to do it.
At the end of the chapter, Victoria gets wind of the news that Claudia has come back. She got ahead of the reality and tore the medical report, thinking it would be futile to tell Alaric the news now that his favorite woman has come back.
Chapter 12
In Alaric’s One and Only Love novel Chapter 12, after days of ruminating and debating if Alaric deserved to know the truth, Victoria finally hit up a text confessing about her current condition. A word from her loyal, preachy best friend changed her mind and all she has to deal now is the agitation and anxiety of waiting for his reply. Weirdly, Alaric didn’t respond immediately. Such news should have already grabbed his attention. Even if he’s in a meeting he would address it without delay. What’s causing him to stall and make her suffer in waiting?
Meanwhile, on the other side of the city, Alaric’s in the middle of the meeting when his cellphone beeped. It didn’t get his attention as Claudia was holding it. Unfortunately, she read Victoria’s text. Furious and nervous Victoria might use that to get Alaric, she deleted it and acted like nothing happened.
Chapter 25
In Alaric’s One and Only Love novel Chapter 25, Claudia’s visit and harsh words tipped Victoria over to the edge. It’s unbelievable that the kind-hearted and soft-spoken Claudia she knew would accuse her of taking advantage of Alaric. What’s more appalling, Claudia offered her money again as a compensation for the several years she’s been a good wife to Alaric. This hurt Victoria and we see a major change in the tone of Alaric’s One and Only Love novel as right after she heard it, she became strong-willed and fearless not to let her belittle her.
She then refused Claudia’s help and promised she’d never get in their away. She’s going to keep the baby and while hiding it, she’ll divorce Alaric. It’s time to finally end it all.
