“You are so far over your head, she’s going to eat you all alive and I’m going to enjoy the show.”

-‘Savage Bonds’ by ‘J.Bree’

J Bree’s, ‘Savage Bonds’, an exquisite Reverse Harem, the dark erotic tale is the second installment in ‘The Bond That Ties Series.
The story is based on one of the most famous tropes, ‘enemies to lovers’ where Oleander, the female protagonist of this series shared a patchy relationship with her five powerful bonds.

Although the sudden revelation of one of the gifts changed her bond’s approach toward her.

But whether this strong-headed female protagonist will be able to commute her feelings towards her bonds or her kidnapping will turn the tables once again?

Part 1: Something You Don’t Know About Savage Bonds

The second book, ‘Savage Bonds’ in ‘The Bond That Ties series written by J. Bree centers around the main character, Oleander Fallows.

All the other characters of the book are knitted together with her.

In this installment, she had to deal with the reverberation of the divulgence of one of her gifts which eventually changed the whole dynamics between Ole and her five powerful bonds.

After unleashing her power, she started having difficulty controlling her actions and wrath whenever her bonds got into trouble or any woman got closer to them.

Soon after that her strong desire to complete her bonding with her bonds started troubling her even more. She couldn’t give in as she was afraid that if she became more powerful, then it would be very difficult to control her.

Currently, we get to see various incidents where her bonds watch over her and calm her down whenever she got in such situations.

But eventually, she was labeled as, a ‘monster’ in this book. Being one of the deadliest of her bonds, she decided to keep her bonds at bay. As she not only cared about her bonds but also about every friend that she made in the resistance camp.

With her upfront resistance and desire to get closer to her bonds every day, will Ole be able to control her gifts?

Savage Bonds- Unknown Facts

Meanwhile, the thrill is maintained throughout the installment, and the author, J Bree did an amazing job in going into every minor detail.

Although the world-building of this book isn’t that great, she mastered the aspect of storytelling and character development.

Part 2: Why Is It So Popular And What’s The Characters?

The story started when the first book, ‘Broken Bonds’ ended, for which I would like to appreciate the author.

Now coming back to the story, Oleander has started living in Draven Mansion and her desire to complete her bonding increased from the moment she unleashed some of her powers.

The author amazingly described how all five bonds were unique and it was fun to read that the council was worried while thinking about how powerful Ole and her bonds will become if they complete their bonding.

Meanwhile, the story is a perfect depiction of enemies to lovers troop which attracted many readers from every age group.

Initially, she had a patchy relationship with her bonds but after unleashing her gift and when she was forced to reveal things about her, all of them started seeing her in a different light.

Moreover, J Bree went into specific details in this book, especially about how they got to know about their bonds, and clarified many of my doubts from the first book of this same series.

In addition to all this, we got to see how Oleander was forced to share a room with her bonds on a rotational basis.

This led us to witness some cute moments between them and the sexual tension between them added spice to the plot.

Since I enjoyed the hot and spicy romance, how could I forget about the real threat in this book?

Savage Bonds- Part 2

The Resistance was still on a mission to kidnap Oleander. This increased the thrill and mystery followed by the action-packed performance of our female protagonist as she wanted to run away but the chip was stopping her.

Although she was at risk of her bonds, her priority shifted to getting to know the truth of what exactly happened to her.

So it’s a perfect mixture of action, humour and romance with a kick-ass heroine having some special powers.

Characters Of Savage Bonds

Oleander Fallows

Savage Bonds- Oleander Fallows

She is a nineteen-year-old strong-headed protagonist of this book.

A good-hearted person who not only cares about her bonds but also about her friends which she made later on.

Meanwhile, I felt bad about the way everyone was treating her once her powers were unleashed.

They called her a monster but she rejected her bonds just to save the world.

Her character arc was well maintained and she became a fictional character that I would like to look forward to.

North Draven

Savage Bonds- North Draven

He is twenty-nine-year-old and has a strong gift of bringing death by touching people.

Undoubtedly I found him one hell of a controlling man but later on when Ole’s powers were revealed, there was a noticeable change in him.

Gabe (Gabriel) Ardern

Savage Bonds- Gabe

He is a shifter who is a shifter and someone who has a very soft and good heart.

The scene of his friendship with Ole was one of the best so far.

Nox

Savage Bonds- Nox

He is the younger half-brother of North Draven. Although his character is unlikeable for now, when Ole had taken a liking to his shadowy nightmare creatures and attached one to her, it was quite adorable.

Gryphon Shore

Savage Bonds-Gryphon

A certified neuro who is always about what Ole needed, half of it was due to his skill but the second half was based on his understanding.

Undoubtedly he is a decent guy and one of the favorites in this series.

Atlas Bassinger

Savage Bonds- Atlas Bassinger

Initially, he lived on the other side of the country but later on transferred to Draven university.

He was the only person there who never judged Ole for her actions.

Part 3: Conclusion

Overall this book, Savage Bonds is an action-packed, mystery-based, paranormal romance with the theme of the reverse harem.

The story has a balanced amount of secrets, twists, idiosyncratic world-building and sexual tension.

Moreover the author, J Bree succeeded in writing a story-driven reverse harem story which is rare to see when it comes to this genre.

The way she didn’t turn this book into meaningless smut and showed how the female protagonist befriended her bonds, their slow-burn romance and sexual tension deserves applause.

For anybody who is looking for a fast-paced, story-driven reverse harem paranormal romance this book can be your perfect choice.
