All About On The Island

Anna and TJ, the kid she was tutoring were stuck On The Island while traveling from Chicago to the Maldives.

It ought to have been a creepy experience, but the tenacity to survive On The Island sparked another path in the lives of thirty-year-old Anna and sixteen-year-old TJ. TJ was sick of one of the numerous forms of cancer at the time, but not much was said about it and it just kind of fizzled away during the book, which was kind of weird.

Maybe love healed cancer, I cannot tell for sure, but he was no longer sick all of a sudden. In a hurry to get rid of an overbearing boyfriend called John, Anna left Chicago and John behind with an awkward I know when he professed his love for her while she was leaving.

Of course, TJ was not as frontal as he would be if he were traveling with his mate, and so he blocked Anna out throughout the journey, by listening to his CD player throughout the flight while she was sitting right next to him.

Part 1: Main Story of On The Island

On The Island Book

Did they not check the pilot before he started to fly the plane from Chicago to the Maldives? Apart from the part where the author narrates that the plane made a long stop in Germany to check some technicalities in the plane, it does not clearly state that the plane resulted in a crash because of mechanical faults.

No. It states that the pilot had a heart attack and died, resulting in the plane nose-diving and coming to a crash stop. *Sigh* Was the book written in a vintage setting or what? Because if there is an issue with the captain of the plane, there are usually at least two other pilots assisting, so where are they not there?

How did the plane come to a crash? Anyway, that’s an aside I will come back to in the evaluation section of this review. Anna and TJ were stuck on an island after the plane crashed. Interesting. It would be difficult not to fall in love with someone that you are in such a sensitive position with just like Anna and TJ were On The Island.

They were stuck there for years, and TJ became an adult while they were On The Island. It was pretty cringe to read the book while they were On The Island, as I expected more, but apparently, the author was being careful not to offend readers.

I guess. Heavy restraints were seen in this book. For example, Anna and TJ were often nude in front of each other, but nothing happened between them. I can imagine what TJ would have been going through seeing his tutor naked with all that late teenager hormone flowing in him.

The author did not give detail about it in the book. In my opinion, this book is supposed to be one of the erotic genres, but as I said earlier, the author was being careful not to commit a taboo. Haha! Bottom line, Anna and TJ were able to survive On The Iland until rescue came. By this time, TJ had become an adult and had started making sexual advances at Anna, which she mostly declined. *rolls eyes*

Back in Chicago and back to their normal lives, Anna and TJ were faced with a different torrent as a result of their relationship now. I don’t know, maybe they should have agreed to keep it a secret and not tell anyone that they were dating, right?

Even if they did, maybe they didn’t conceal it well, or TJ was too excited to be in a relationship with his tutor so much that he spilled it. Well, you will not know the details if you don’t read the book, and I cannot tell you everything if not this review would turn into a spoiler.

It says in the book that TJs family liked and accepted Anna and that the only time they had a problem as a result of their relationship was with the press. Trust the media to spread negativity as if their life depends on it. It’s a general problem. It happens everywhere.

Part 2: Main Characters of On The Island

Anna

On The Island Anna

Anna was a tutor looking after a sixteen-year-old called TJ. For reasons only figured out told later on in the book, they were embarking on a trip to the Maldives from Chicago, when the plane that they had boarded, crashed.

Hence, Anna was stuck On The Island with her sixteen-year-old student. Creepy right? Well, maybe at first. The thought of being lost might have told on her, but there’s a feeling that comes with the zest for survival. Before anyone would know it, she had become intimate with her student.

I would love to say that, Anna was lucky that TJ was not a wild one, if not, all the times that she turned him down after he became of age and wanted to get physically intimate with her, he would have insisted, and there would have been nothing his good ol tutor would have been able to do about it. He would have made her understand that there was a lot that he needed tutoring in. *Wink*

T.J

On The Island T.J

T.J. was trapped On The Island with his tutor. A sixteen-year-old at the time he was trapped On The Island with Anna, his tutor, he was also recovering from cancer. Lymphoma-strong one, Anna was shocked to see that he looked healthier than she had expected him to be when she met him at the airport for them to start their journey to the Maldives.

He ended up having a real affair with Anna, I wonder who was the leader of the affair that both of them had, to be honest. Was she controlling him? The age gap between them was a lot, so it is worth wondering whether T.J. was controlling his tutor. Read the book to find out.

Part 3: Evaluate On The Island

On The Island Full Book

Was the age gap not too much in this book? Anna got fired from one of her responsibilities in the course of this book, is it because she was dating T.J. Apart from the cringe plot, the book was well written, and it was easy to decipher.

Some books would take you a lot of patience as dozing off and on for you to figure out what was being narrated in the book, but not this one. However, I would not give out my usual generous total score for this book because some details seemed unrealistic to me.

She didn’t accept T.J. while they were On The Island, so why didn’t she continue with that energy when they got rescued? Anyway, read the book and judge for yourself.
