Bailey was in a relationship with Levi for two years. But he was toxic, possessive, and awful for her mental health. She tried to break it off with him multiple times, but Levi was not allowing it. Axel was an Alpha werewolf, but Bailey didn’t know it at first-or she thought. Driven by her will to get free from her toxic relationship with Levi, Bailey went with Axel to his place.

Having had enough, Bailey argued with Levi, leaving him mad in the hotel room. He’s unbearable and possessive. Bailey planned to go home, but there was no ride around the area until morning.
Bailey then found herself inside the bar, not wanting to return to Levi. There were tons of men there. She was thinking of leaving already when a man with a husky voice approached her.

The man was named Alex, and he knew the bar’s owner. Something about the man was making Bailey drawn to him. The way he looked at her and his hands brushed her skin. She thought of Levi and how he would react seeing this, but then thought this would be a great idea to finally break it off with him after many attempts.
But her phone vibrated for his call. She tried to block him, but it would be futile because Levi put a tracking device on her phone.
Alex asked for her drinks, but she was not a drinker, so she needed to figure out exactly what to drink. Bailey told him she was in the bar because she was somewhat stranded, and Alex offered her to go somewhere else that could provide her more than simple booze.

They drove to the restaurant out of town, where he offered her a milkshake, making Bailey remember how Levi would tell her the milkshake would go straight to her thighs. There, they got to know more about each other. Alex seemed interested in her.
Then he asked what she planned to do the whole night while waiting for the bus. Bailey planned to check into a hotel, and by morning she needed to go home to her grandmother.
Alex offered his room to her, and despite knowing the handsome man was only after a one-night stand, she took the bait anyway. It was her way of completely getting out of Levi.

The woman was named Courtney, and she mentioned the woman Casey in her text, who was waiting for Alex to come home in her message.
While waiting for the bus outside, she checked the messages and calls from last night, most of them from Levi. Then Levi appeared from nowhere. He’s been looking for her all night. She refused to get into his car, but he informed her that the bus doesn’t stop at that area anymore, things Alex forgot to mention.
She agreed to get into Levi’s car. Lost in her thought, she missed the bus that pulled off at the station as they drove off, proving Levi to be lying.

Bailey was feeling sick. It had been six weeks since the encounter with Alex, and now her grandma was growing worried about her. She came from work after getting sick for a tuna fish she smelled from her boss, who then told her to go home and rest.
Grandma insisted she sees a doctor. Bailey assured her she would.
While resting on her bed and sniffing Alex’s scent on her sweatshirt, Levi called on her phone. Things had officially ended between them, but Levi couldn’t seem to understand it-or at least respect her decision. She read his messages until he asked if she was pregnant.
At that question, Bailey started to question her own body. She headed to the pharmacy to get the answer, and there, she met Levi. He was there to buy her soup and some medicine and visit her.
Levi soon found out she was pregnant and immediately assumed the baby was his. He insisted on coming home with her as she did the test. Bailey refused, but Levi trusted he was the father, although Bailey was already thinking of the possibility that he may not.
