Boss and employee romance books are a great subgenre of romance to read. Young girls tend to like these romance books because they feel nearly surreal most times, especially those who spend more time on their work.
They find fun watching sparks fly when two individuals can’t ignore their connection and go on a personal and professional relationship whether it’s dating the boss or the employee. The two individuals are forced to engage with each other since they work together.
They get to see and communicate with each other regardless of their relationship.
More reasons why people read boss and employee romance novels are:
- They read boss and employee romance novels with the hope that there are some non-fictional nice guys out there for them like those in the novels. They hope guys like that turn out to be courteous, loving, and kind.
- Most young girls read these romance books because they are in a good and happy relationship. Therefore, they enjoy reading about other people experiencing such types of relationships.
- They also read boss and employee romance books because they like reading about women who are bright, capable, and clever. They don’t like reading about the main lead being sad, two-dimensional, and depressed because of someone she loves.

Excerpt:
‘Mine to Have’ is the story of Travis Baker and Harlow Barnes, two veterinarians who met and fell in love while in veterinary school. They had the perfect relationship but it didn’t last long.
Travis ended their relationship because he did not want to have a long-distance relationship with Harlow. He also didn’t want her to relocate away from her family with the thought that she might regret the decision later on.
When they were dating, Travis begged Harlow to vow to be by his side on the happiest day of his life. When Harlow receives an invitation to Travis’ wedding to Jennifer Garner, she responds that she will attend due to her vow.
On that beautiful day, several mistakes occur, one of which is an allergic response to Jennifer. The other mistake was when Jennifer reveals that she cannot marry Travis.
Travis arrives at the wedding site to call it off and discovers Harlow at the bar with his closest buddy, Bennett. Harlow and Travis had what I will call perfect chemistry. Whenever Travis sees Harlow, he’s reminded that his heart has always belonged to her.
What comes next? Will Travis decide to go back to his ex-lover? And if he decides, will Harlow give him the attention he wants despite their past? The only way to find out what unfolds is if you jump on this novel!
Pros: This novel is engaging and interesting.
Cons: If you’re a fan of drama then this isn’t one of the bosses and employee romance books you will love reading. It has a recap of what the main leads said to each other at the start of every chapter which most people might find annoying.

Boss and employee romance book #8 Their Bridgewater Brides Boxed Set
Score: 4.4
Tags: Sex, Kidnap, Female Lead, Forced Love, Kickass Heroine
Excerpt:
Just like the name says, this is another novel that comes in a series. The stories and the Bridgewater men were very interesting to read. The Bridgewater men are protective, loving, and devoted.
The lovemaking and wooing in the series are done delicately and well. Also, the brides aren’t the typical simpering damsels in distress. Even though they’re all in some sort of trouble, they are still brave and strong.
The bonds between the main characters wasted no time in developing. It would have been preferable if it took more time.
Pros: There were no cliffhangers in the series. The positive nature of the female characters was a bonus.
Cons: The series has more sexual content. Also, the editing was poor in some parts of the book.

Boss and employee romance book #10 Lyon
Score: 4.3
Tags: CEO, Fall in love with a bad boy, Workplace, BG, Badboy, Kind, Forced love
Excerpt:
This is the first novel in the Lyon series about how Lyon met Kat. Here, Colton Lyon has no idea what Kat’s backstory is, but when one of his crew members suggests she work as an assistant at his business, he agrees.
Kat is a bit of a mystery to Colton; one minute she is a shy, breakable lady, and the next she has a temper and is putting everyone in their place. Soon, Colton realizes Kat is the woman for him. He introduces her to a lifestyle she never imagined but keeping her safe is a challenge, especially after learning about her background.
Kat had some amazing features but there’s a problem with her age. She comes out as a little immature in places, unlike Colton who appeared to be more mature. The chemistry between the two was extraordinary.
Pros: The novel has an amazing blend of words and feelings to properly communicate with the readers. It came out easy to read and the message was easy to understand.
Cons: It contains lots of sexual content that some readers might find disturbing. Some parts of the novel were poorly edited.
