It’s an undoubted statement that there is no better genre to enjoy on a relaxing Saturday night with a bowl full of popcorn than thriller horror. And luckily, dreamcatcher (2021) is a thriller-horror movie that fits right into this genre.

Directed and written by Jacob Johnston, the movie dreamcatcher (2021) attempts to combine rave culture with horror by introducing the antagonist as a serial killer/ slasher. We get Niki Koss as Pierce, Zachary Gordon as Jake, Travis Burns as Dylan ‘DJ Dreamcatcher’, Blaine Kern III as Hunter, Olivia Sui as Raye, Adrienne Wilkinson as Josephine, and along with a mix of other great cast members. But, even though, the dreamcatcher movie (2021) is supposed to be a part of the most demanded genre, is it really worth a watch?

The tagline “Get ready for a killer night-out” dreamcatcher (2021), sets the precedent for the movie. The plot starts with a promising scene where a woman (Dreamcatcher’s PR team member) is beaten to death by someone as soon as she hangs up a call. Yeah, we were shocked too!

On the other hand, we have a bunch of friends ready to go to an EDM concert and get their night started! (I wish we could have warned them otherwise). But a night that was supposed to be fun turns bloody after Pierce(lead character) ODs with the DJ and subsequently gets stabbed. And guess, what? Who’s the DJ? Well, you guessed it right – it’s the Dreamcatcher. But, wait, it’s not that simple! Now we have, Josephine, (Dreamcatcher’s manager) who clears up the Pierce mess and asks the friend group to leave.

At this point in time as the group mourns the death of Pierce, they speculate about being targeted by someone. (YESSS! BY A DEADLY KILLER GUYS!) These speculations are then followed by some very non-impressive killings. You know what. The movie Dreamcatcher (2021) has a SECOND KILLER.

While all of this is happening we also get some plot related to Josephine who works together with a guy named Colton to protect Dreamcatcher, the killer DJ. Now, with so many storylines open, there’s so much that the movie Dreamcathcer(2021) unfolds.

Ultimately, Dreamcatcher(2021) wraps up the entire movie by revealing the second killer- who guess what?! Turns out to be Pierce, in a hugely non-dramatic way. The reason given for Pierce to be the killer was that her soul was exchanged with the devil when she had OD-ed.

So, yes, it would not be wrong to say that the plot has got everything from exclusive thrill to horror and a great bonus of drama, romance, and guess what? Backstabbing as well!

Sadly, the cast of Dreamcatcher (2021) fails to do so.

Featuring quite a few familiar faces, the movie, dreamcatcher (2021) had an honest and promising cast. We had Nikki Koss (known for her role in Famous in Love) as our very favorite the “second killer” aka Pierce. There was Zachary Gorder (Yes, our very own Wimpy Kid) cast as Jake. And then we get Travis Burns, an upcoming name, in the role of the DJ Dreamcatcher. However, my personal favorite was Adrienne Wilkinson. Portraying Josephine, Dylan’s manager is simply doing an awesome job. A cold-hearted, vindictive, and someone to just-straight up hate. And she is super good at it!.
