In most novels, couples are usually co-dependents. They rely on each other for the simplest tasks. He needs her to cook his dinner, keep track of his suits and ties, buy him shirts and so on. She needs a man to love and protect her, maybe save her when being bullied.

This is not the case when it comes to You Hit My Heart novel. Both Joyce and Luther are independent people, relying on their skills and wits. Because they are both such dominant characters, their interactions ignite flames which can easily get out of control.

Part 1: The Beautiful Story Of A Dangerous Love: You Hit My Heart

Joyce is a stunning young woman who lives a double life. Having been raised in an orphanage, she pretty much had to learn to lean on her own, thus she distrusts people in general, keeping her own things private.

While being an eminent design student, she is also a secret flawless sharpshooter. Although showing no visible emotions, she secretly wishes she would meet her family one day.

Staying in front of the city hall officer, Joyce casually signs her marriage license as if writing on any piece of paper. Mirroring her mood, Luther does the same.

They aren’t the ones who necessarily wanted this marriage, but Stephanie, the man’s grandmother, developed a soft spot for the girl, urging her grandson to make her his spouse. Knowing that Stephanie had a terminal illness, they both agreed.

Joyce cared about Stephanie very much, she had no duty whatsoever towards the old woman, yet she gave in when Luther offered her money. Her quick acceptance of the money made the man believe she was a mere gold digger and planned to divorce the woman as soon as his grandmother passed away.

Exiting the city hall, Joyce reiterated the idea of keeping things businesslike between the two of them seeing that, once she earns her money, they will part ways. Her serious tone, eagerness to get her share and divorce enrages Luther, who walks away without exchanging phone numbers with his wife.

You Hit My Heart Joyce

After all, he is just as eager to be legally separated from Joyce as she is. Luther made a promise to marry Charlotte, the woman who saved his life and whom he raped after being drugged. He needed to atone for his mistake and his marriage was standing in the way.

Going to the orphanage at dean Rachel’s request, Joyce remembers the night when she saved a man’s life. He was surrounded by three other men, having no chance to escape their wrath. Joyce used her skills and threw darts towards the men, hurting them and making them back away.

She then lounged for the river to save that man’s life. After carrying him to the shore, he seemed to come to his senses, but he did something unthinkable. He took her virginity. See, she is an excellent shooter, yet she has no combat skills, she could never fight a man.

After having his way with her, the man passed out, allowing Joyce to flee. Seeing everything unfolding before her very eyes, Charlotte recognized the man and took Joyce’s place, claiming that the man had raped her instead, urging him to vow a marriage between the two of them.

When Joyce reaches dean Rachel’s office, she is joined by Charlotte, her fellow orphan, who always envied the girl. After Joyce leaves the office, Charlotte hears the news that a wealthy family from the city is looking for their lost daughter and one proof of the girl’s identity is a silver pendant.

Remembering that Joyce has such pendant, Charlotte realizes she must be the Heath family heir, thus she interchanged the DNA samples left, leading everyone to believe that she is the Heath daughter everyone is looking for.

Stealing Joyce identity and man, Charlotte is happy to be secured for life. Joyce secretly envies the girl for being lucky enough to find her family, as she is struggling to save someone dear to her.

Unbeknownst to everyone, the money she took for marrying Luther would help her friend Justin go through an operation that would help him walk again. Instead of telling the truth, she left her husband believe she was a gold digger.

With so many secrets surrounding their marriage, will Joyce and Luther find their way to one another?

Part 2: Intriguing Chapters From You Hit My Heart

You Hit My Heart Luther

If you’re a sucker for suspense and romance, You Hit My Heart is the novel for you. Both Luther and Joyce have their secrets they don’t want to share to each other.

The thrill they get while living dangerous is uncanny, they make a perfect duo while working together to flee from those who wish to harm them. To tell you the truth, a certain following chapter gave me that Bonnie and Clyde vibe.

We know that Joyce is a sharpshooter, but what is the deal with Luther? Why does he own a fire gun? Are there enemies lurking around waiting to take the man down?

You Hit My Heart Chapter 8

Being urged by the man’s grandmother to take Joyce out for dinner, Luther had no choice but to comply. He took his wife to Imperiana, one of the most luxurious places in town.

Meeting Felix and Mathew, Luther had to confess that Joyce was his wife. The man’s friends were stunned as he never introduced a woman to them and now he had gotten married. Smiling, Joyce intervened and cleared things for her husband. She told Felix and Mathew that their marriage was only temporary.

The boys pushed for celebration and urged Joyce to have a drink. She tried to get away but they didn’t take no for an answer. They simply laid out the rules for their dart game. Hitting the middle of the target would make the opponents take one drink, hitting double meant three drinks.

Never saying no to such a challenge, Joyce simply took the three darts and threw them all at once. All three of them hit the double area, meaning that her fellow companions had to drink nine cups each.

You Hit My Heart Chapter 17

Luther pushed the gas pedal to lose their oppressors but somehow they managed to catch up with him. The man was enraged now and urged Joyce to sit back to avoid getting hit.

The girl didn’t lose her temper as she simply asked her husband who did he offend. Taking a gun out, Luther tried to comfort her, assuring her that everything would be fine. Still, it was difficult to hold the steering wheel while shooting.

Finally, Joyce held out her hand and asked for the gun. Sensing Luther’s reluctance, she grabbed it without asking again, opened the safety hatch, probed out the window and turned sideways to shoot.

A couple of shoots later, all the cars chasing them were having flat tires, thus they couldn’t follow Luther’s Maybach anymore. While aiming for the tires, Joyce ended up in her husband’s arms, causing the man to feel immensely drawn to the woman beside him.

Handing back the gun, she praised the thing, recognizing the model. Luther was stunned. Who was the woman he married? Luther made a mental note to look further into his wife’s past. After all, he still had no idea what she did in those six years which were missing from the report he received of her life activity.
