Arranged marriages have become a recurrent theme in romance novels. The idea of pairing complete strangers and witness them falling in love with each other is alluring.
Evil But Sweet CEO follows the contract marriage pattern, as Mary marries William after an agreement between her family and the man.
Although William is a strong, influent billionaire, I like the fact that Mary is also an independent woman, with a steady job and skilled in the kitchen. Her strong demeanor and willingness to be a good mother and wife will eventually get her a real family.

Part 1: Mary And William’s Story In Evil But Sweet CEO
As Wiliam Notman casually reads the newspaper, he orders his housekeeper to retrieve the money he had lent the Cutts Group the very next day.
Although the woman agreed with her master, she still believed that Mary Cutts is different than the previous women who wanted to be William’s wives.
Mary is supposed to get married to Mr Notman, a man well known for being cruel and disfigured after a terrible fire from five years ago, yet she got scared when entering his mansion and fled right away.
After a long walk and with a clear mind, she returns to the Notman mansion, adamant in fulfilling her promise and marrying William. After all, how ugly can the man truly be?
Unbeknownst to Mary, it was the man’s little boy who scared her to death the first time she came, but this time, William decided to let her be. If she is brave enough to face a monster again, she definitely deserves a chance to become Ms Notman.
She encounters a sweet little boy, Steve, for whom she cooks a delicious meal. This wins the boy’s heart instantly, who also tries to convince his brother, James, that Mary could be the mother they never had.
After getting her marriage certificate, Mary is stunned to learn that William Notman is actually a very handsome man, despite the rumors of him being an ugly beast.
She cares for the sweet twin boys who play tricks on her in the beginning, acting as if they were the same person. It is only later that Mary finds out that there are actually two beautiful boys, not just one.
Outside her marriage and her newly formed family, Mary has to deal with her former cheating boyfriend Raymond and his love interest who is none other than her former best friend Alice. Although they were the ones who wronged her in the past, the couple is set in making her life difficult.
To make things worse, even Mary’s sister, Elena, who was initially supposed to marry William, hates her sibling, continuously framing her and trying to get her being abused by different directors to gain benefits.
To add to Elena’s frustrations, she gets angry when she learns just how beautiful and rich William Notman really is, and now she wants to take Mary’s place and status as the man’s wife.
Throughout all this ordeal, Mary has the most reliable and devoted allies she could possibly want, Steve and James. The sweet boys dote on her and care for her although they are merely five years old.
And even though Mary never believed that she could fulfill the role of mother to the boys, everything comes naturally to her. After all, she lost a child five years ago, her heart yearns for the baby she never got to hold or raise.
If winning two precious little hearts was easy, will Mary win Wiliam’s heart? Will the man finally overcome the ghosts from his past and allow himself to take advantage of the opportunity to be happy and have a family?
Part 2: Steamy Chapters From Evil But Sweet CEO
Indubitably, Evil But Sweet CEO offers a great deal of hot scenes throughout the story. Mary’s nemeses are constantly lurking around, trying to cause trouble for the young and beautiful woman.
Seldom, even without her knowing, Mary is being rescued by none other than William, her husband who already started doting on her, even without realizing.
Evil But Sweet CEO Chapter 15
I am very interested in her
This chapter relays the aftermath of Mary being trapped in a hotel room with the despicable director Wang at the hands of her own sister, Elena.
William took off his coat and covered Mary’s naked bloodied body on the bed. A weak cry could be heard from the ground, as director Wang looked disheveled and deeply wounded. He had blood oozing from his body and was in need of immediate care.
Wang wasted no time in pointing fingers at Mary, blaming her for trying to seduce him and beating him to a pulp. He admits to have drugged her, but he said he did it to save his own life. Right then, the police came and Wang again asked for help and protection from the unconscious woman from the bed.
At the hospital, William learns that Mary has small wounds, as the blood covering her body belonged to the despicable director. She managed to defend herself pretty well.
When Mary finally regained consciousness, she relayed everything that happened, how she was knocked unconscious on the alley and how that man drugged her. She only retaliated, not wanting to be abused.
Wang kept maintaining his statement that Mary offered herself to him, as her husband is well known for not being man enough after the fire and not being able to fulfill his marital obligations. Mary didn’t waste any time in defending William, who soon entered her room.
Not recognizing William Notman, Wang accused Mary of being an easy woman, for meeting all sorts of men behind her husband’s back. When it finally dawns on him that the man in front of him is the famous billionaire, the director knows that he is in big trouble now.

Evil But Sweet CEO Chapter 20
You Return The Ring To Me
Upon seeing who was James’s friend from the internet, Mary remained bewildered. It was none other than her sister, Elena.
As the woman was about to get up and protect the little boy, Steve stopped her and urged her to watch the show. Elena was talking on the phone with someone, bragging about the ten carats diamond ring she received from a billionaire admirer.
Believing she won the jackpot, she agreed to meet the generous man she found online. Soon, James approached Elena, revealing that he was the “man” she talked to online. Stunned to see a five-year old boy in front of her, Elena got up and tried to run, while calling him a brat.
Since she was in such a hurry, James could only tell the woman that he had to steal the ring that his daddy had prepared for his mommy, thus she should give it back. Since everyone had heard what the boy said, Elena turned red with both anger and embarrassment.
When she kicked the boy to get away from him, Mary couldn’t take it anymore, she felt the need to protect him, but before she could take a stand, she saw William approach the boy and the woman.
Part 3: A Small Book Review: Evil But Sweet CEO
Although it’s a romance book, I must admit that I enjoy the ludic aspect of Evil But Sweet CEO novel. Steve and James definitely bring flavor to Mary and William’s story.
Another thing I admire about this storyline is that it embraces true aspects of everyday mundane life. Cheaters, bullies and deceivers are very much present everywhere and dealing with them is not always easy.
Mary’s struggle with carrying on with her life after being betrayed by her boyfriend and best friend and coping with the loss of her child are truly inspiring. She faces her problems with dignity, never looking back or regretting her past decisions. She truly is one kick-ass heroine.
