In love and war, everything is fair. Or so it seems to be in Dear Ex-Wife, You Are Mine novel. Characters go to extreme lengths to achieve goals, no matter whose life is ruined in the process.
Camilla never backs down from literally hurting Victoria and discrediting her even more in the eyes of the Devonte family, while Alessandro is capable of hurting his own wife and the woman he wants to keep close, just to force her to remain by his side. Pretty twisted thing, I might add.
But, through all the lying and scheming, we also witness some glorifying romance scenes, helping Alessandro atone for all the heartache he puts us readers through in the beginning.

Part 1: Meet The Conniving Woman Of Dear Ex-Wife, You Are Mine
One of the things I like about this novel is the dynamics between characters. They are all unique, bold and determined, making them literally clash verbally and sometimes even physically.
Their interactions are always full of substance, they aren’t dull whatsoever, making the plot continuously entertaining.
Alessandro
Without a doubt, Alessandro Devonte is a heartthrob. Although in the beginning of the Dear Ex-Wife, You Are Mine novel, we see him side with his family, being cold and brutal towards Victoria, while protecting his ex-girlfriend, gradually, we get acquainted with his softer, loving side.
What had me a little confused was the fact that Alessandro was aware of the fact that Camilla wasn’t the one who saved him from the accident three years prior, but still, he cherished and protected her at his wife’s expense.
I can understand he didn’t want to be against his family’s wishes, but Victoria doted on him throughout their marriage, being his lover, maid, cook and everything else he needed. Without even receiving the minimal amount of affection from the man!
What’s good is that he realizes his love towards his wife and starts making amends. And there are a lot of them!
Overall, Alessandro is not a perfect male lead character, but he does have what it takes to make a woman fall for him. Aside from the fact that he is a gorgeous billionaire, he is also powerful and ready to move mountains to please the object of his affection.
Victoria
Unbeknownst to her husband and in-laws, Victoria is actually an heiress. Her family is in the jewelry business, but she gave up all her commodities when she chose to marry Alessandro.
For Devonte clan, she was just a scheming easy woman, a gold digger nonetheless, who tricked their precious heir. Victoria keeps her head up high through all the bashes she receives from her in-laws throughout her marriage, so what changes when she decides to divorce her husband?
Experiencing a final betrayal from Alessandro and now having a baby in her belly who needed protection, Victoria speaks rationally for the first time, instead of speaking from her heart. She demands the separation.
This is a turning point for both characters as they reverse their statuses from the beginning of the novel. Victoria is the one who dismisses her husband, while Alessandro starts chasing after her.
Camilla
Camilla is a very interesting villain. She is beautiful and manipulative, managing to turn things in her favor even when it’s obvious she’s the culprit. Camilla is Alessandro’s ex-girlfriend and it’s obvious she wants him back, but not because she loves him, but because of his inheritance.
She succeeds in portraying a demure, fragile young lady, who only wants what’s best for Aless, even saving him from a terrible car crash, winning the Devonte family’s eternal gratitude.
Part 2: The Story Of Dear Ex-Wife, You Are Mine
Dear Ex-Wife, You Are Mine Victoria foolishly gave up her luxurious, carefree life and commodities to follow her heart. She blindly married Alessandro Devonte, one of the most eligible bachelors in town, hoping that he would one day reciprocate her feelings.
However, in her three-year long marriage, Alessandro never showed even the remotest hint of affection towards his wife. On the contrary, he seemed to join his family in treating Victoria poorly, while praising and doting over Camilla, the man’s former girlfriend.
In everybody’s eyes, Camilla was an angel in disguise, as she supposedly saved the Devonte heir when he suffered a terrible accident three years prior, while Victoria was no more than a gold digger, who tricked Alessandro into marrying her.
Being misjudged by the entire family has never bothered Camilla before. As long as she could be near her husband, she was happy. Especially now that she was pregnant.
Rushing to arrive on time for the party organized in honor of grandma Nina’s birthday, Camilla is urged to stop abruptly when saving on old lady’s life. Her sudden movements caused her to trip and fall in a puddle, thus her dress was now filled with dirt. Not only was she late for the party, she was also dirty.
When finally reaching the party venue, the woman hoped that her husband would take in her ravished look and understand her, but the man only glared at her and scolded her for being late and embarrassing him in front of the entire family.
Soon enough, Victoria was greeted by Camilla, who wasted no time in bullying the girl and framing her for pushing her down and hurting her ankle. No one believed the girl’s side of the story and was punished to kneel outside the mansion until she acknowledges her mistake.
The moment everything changed
Deep down, Victoria still held on to the chance that Alessandro would come and rescue her from that harsh treatment, but her hope soon shattered when the man came and asked her to beg for forgiveness from Camilla.
In that instant, something snapped inside the girl’s heart. She came to terms with the fact that the Alessandro Devonte would always put Camilla’s well-being above her own and will always be the one holding his heart, thus she uttered the words she never thought she would speak. She asked for divorce.
Stunned by her sudden boldness, Alessandro agreed, being certain that Victoria was just bluffing. But the woman was now adamant in getting back to her luxurious life and raise her child on her own.
Only when losing Victoria, Alessandro felt a void in his heart that only his wife could fill. Will he be able to win her back after all the heartache he put her through?
Part 3: Dear Ex-Wife, You Are Mine Review
One of the things I mostly find intriguing about Dear Ex-Wife, You Are Mine novel is the sudden transformation of Victoria.
It’s obvious she’s always been bold and fierce, yet she suppressed her strong character in order to become an obedient wife for Alessandro. Sadly, this only proved the fact that her husband never wanted a complacent wife, he actually admired women who knew how to stand up for themselves.
It took a divorce for Alessandro to finally see the woman who stood beside him for the past years and consider her his equal.
Victoria truly makes a badass heroine, as she manages to fight and overcome tremendous hatred from the Devonte family and also undue all the wrong things Camilla did to her marriage in the past.
