Part 1: Main Characters of The Great Ruler
Mu Chen
Having thin physique, white skin, black hair and eyes, Mu Chen is desiringly handsome for his age. He’s calm, confident and reserved. Unlike other people, he’s not fond of boasting about his full-power even though it’s worth getting proud of. He always show genuine respect for both seniors and juniors. Though he could insinuate who’s more powerful, he stayed humble and silent. He disgust the very idea of violence, and even a single moment, never started one on his own. The only exception is when his friends’ lives are in line, then he won’t hesitate to kill.
As for his background, Mu Chen was born in one of the nine territories of Northern Read. His father is the Territory Lord of Mu Territory so it’s a common knowledge that Mu Chen is extremely talented. He is the only person in Northern Spiritual Academy who was able to Spiritual Road, but he was expelled from the spiritual path after one year because of the bloodbath he caused. Therefore, earning the nickname “Blood Calamity”.
In his journey in Spiritual Road, he met with Luo Li. He saved her life, and there was an instant spark of love between them.
Luo Li
Luo Li is the main female protagonist of The Great Ruler. She’s the empress of the Luo God Clan, and a highly qualified for acquiring the whole treaure of their clan. Her favorite color is black, and almost everytime she appeared in the noevel, she wore black dresses embroided with elegant thread skirt. To say she’s beautiful would be an insult to the actual state of her perfection. She has radiant white skin, silver white hairs, and exquisite rosy cheeks. In contrary to her angel-like appearance, her personality is cold and indifferent. She’s like a closed shell, adamant to show her inner beauty to strangers, only to Mu Chen.
Part 2: First Two Chapters from The Great Ruler
Chapter 1
The chapters opens with a group of youths, casually talking about highlights of the current year and Mu Shen’s reputation in the town. They bragged about his power, and his life story that has been the source of laughter and controversy in their place. Mu Chen was listening to them silently, and at the mention of his important journey years ago, his mind wandered to the experience he went through at that time.
As it turned out, Mu Chen has rode the Spiritual Road once in his lifetime. But because of his inability to control his impulses, he was sent home for causing a catastrophe within his time in the Spiritual Road. Naturally, a man who has the same fame as him was brought up in the conversation. Mu Chen felt a twinge of anger as he heard Liu Yang’s name. He knew he could surpass that boastful bastard, if only he could enter the academy once more.
Chapter 2
A fight almost ensued on Mu Chen’s account because of his bad mouth. They were making fun of him for not being able to succeed on the Spiritual Road. Liu Yang joined the bullying, even going as far as challenging him for a duel. Mu Chen’s automatic response was to reject the idea, but Liu Yang’s peers pressured him to do so. Until Tang Qian’Er—a famous senior student—came into the scene and ultimately stopped the commotion. Soon as the small encounter faded away, Tang Qian’Er questioned Mu Chen about what happened. Their conversation led to Tang Qian’Er offering Mu Chen to be his proxy and beat Liu Yang up. Mu Chen only shook his head at her ridiculous attempt.

Part 4: Evaluation and a Similar Book on Dreame
Personally, I liked the The Great Ruler in all aspect of a novel. I didn’t quite expect that I would since the premise was unable to hook my attention. But as I read through pages, and pages, I became quite invested on how it will turn out in the end. And I’m glad I helt onto that curiosity because I was able to enjoy such an unforgettable book. It was charming, and everything about it seemed fitting and speaking up for my taste.
Though there’s some technical errors that stood out, it still deserved some recognition and genuine love from readers. For that, I’m giving it a big round of applause and a gigantic thumbs up. This is a highly recommended book that everyone should know about!
