Part 1: Storyline of To The Stars and Back
Kang Dae enjoyed his lonely life happily, and whenever someone else tried to get closer than usual he was quickly defensive. He had a huge wall built around him for a reason no one knew – not even me. But having a similar challenge, I can say I totally understand him. He was handsome in his own way, and had the talent of writing. And because of this, he choose to study the particular course he was studying at the state university in the city. He had no known parents or relatives.
Imagine such a life of solitude being interrupted suddenly, when a petite young man relocated to Kang Dae’s apartment building. He was having a smoke in the cool of the evening at the front of the building when a taxi began to drop off properties and a small man.
It was a nice scene to watch, of course, and surprising to Kang Dae that a new tenant was moving in. He wasn’t expecting it to be his business, but surpringly to him, the young man saw him and requested that he helped him carry some of his belongings to his new apartment.
That was shocking to Kang Dae, but as if it wasn’t enough that a new tenant was coming in to distrupt the status-quo, he was moving in to the apartment next him. But, Kang Dae was willing to accommodate, so long as the new tenant wasn’t a disturbance to the peace.
But that night, the man who’d introduced himself to Kang Dae as Bo Seon, was snoring. He was snoring so loudly that Kang Dae could hear him through the thin wooden wall.
The building was old, but it was cheap. The wall were originally thin, and getting old wasn’t kind to it, therefore some places were even weaker than they were when it was newly erected.
Kang Dae tried to sleep, ignoring the noise from the sleeping Bo Seon. But no matter how he tried, he just couldn’t. He therefore picked up a long tennis ball… his intention was to throw it on the was next to Bo Seon’s bedroom and jolt him awake.
But the ball crashed through the weakening wall and flew into Bo Seon’s bedroom, flying past his bed and hitting the wall in his room. Now, there was a hole between the two tenants.
No Seon did wake up and came happily to peep through the hole and speak to Kang Dae, but he lifted a shoe box and blocked his view.
Bo Seon was a petite young man, short in height, slim too, but very handsome with a child like face. He was a happy person, very lively and animated. He was like a light in Kang Dae’s gloomy existence.
No matter how hard Kang Dae tried to push him away, he came even closer. As a matter of fact, Kang Dae woke up to a bowl of cookies waiting for him in front of his door.
Bo Seon ran into Kang Dae somewhere close to a restaurant where he was trying to hookup with a lady and went over to greet him. The lady broke up with Kang Dae at once thinking he was dating Bo Seon.
Yes, Bo Seon was obviously homosexual. He really liked Kang Dae and would ask for the help of his friend – KYO – to help get Kang Dae’s attention. The plan did work and Kang Dae found himself caring exceptionally for Bo Seon.
