Part 1: Storyline of Marry My Husband

She went to school, graduated, and got a job in the big city. It was at this job that she met a man so handsome that his beauty was controversial. He was everything Jiwon wanted in a man, he showered her with every kind of affection.

Their love blossomed rapidly too. He was always there when she needed him, he knew exactly what to do at every juncture in their relationship and Jiwon was so proud of him. Together the two young adults built their lives and eventually got married.

On the other hand, Jiwon had only one friend in her entire life. They’d met in high school when it was difficult for the much introverted Jiwon to make friends, and since Sumin herself was a social cast away, they both became inseparable.

Sumin stuck to Jiwon like soft bread glued with butter. Jiwon loved her friend and valued their friendship. As matter of fact, they’d both left the country and migrated to the big city together, had shared a tiny apartment before landing jobs at the same firm and acquiring better apartments in different areas of the city.

Jiwon loved her friend, but her love for her blinded her to the harsh realities of Sumin’s character and their consequences. Sumin was literally living in Jiwon’s shadow, she envied her friend much more than she loved her. She stuck around only because Jiwon’s good fortune was rubbing off on her.

Sumin was pretty, but Jiwon was taller, pretty, and smarter. Because of this, she attracted every form of rich and handsome dude. Dudes that Sumin wished she could have. Without Jiwon’s knowledge, Sumin flirted with a boyfriend over the years and constantly came to tell her how they were after her.

But Jiwon didn’t take all that to heart, cos non of those men meant anything close to what Minhwan meant to her. After ten years of marriage, with all its ups and downs, Jiwon was diagnosed with cancer, indefinitely hospitalized, and given six months tops to live. Cancer had rapidly spread since she didn’t take proper action on time. They’d run low on money cos her husband – Minhwan – had used up all their fund gambling in the stock market. She was alone in the hospital and had been alone for longer than she’d expected.

Therefore, she dialed Minhwan and received a voicemail. What was killing her the most was that she thought it was proper for the one person who’d loved her enough to marry her, to stay by her side at least until she passed. But alas, she was lonely on her deathbed. She decided to go home.

On her way out of the hospital, she entered a cab whose driver was speaking in the same accent as her late father’s. The driver dropped her at her building and refused to take the payment, he even gave her a candy while returning the fare she’d offered. He instructed her to live long, happy, and fulfilled.

She wasn’t so thrilled to hear that since she had only months to live. She entered her apartment to find clothes of both sexes littered on the floor, from the sitting room to the bedroom.

She badged in on her husband and best friend having sex on her bed and discussing how to spend her life insurance and every other dime she was going to leave behind. Her anger was without boundaries, and her husband and best friend would murder her for their good.
