“Triumph Above All“ is nothing if not the most amazing novel that you will enjoy reading. It gives you Cinderella vibes and so much suspense. I love how subtle the main character is about his identity. It comes off as arrogant and violent to everyone around him, but it is very deserved. He’s the sweetest and most considerate person; we can’t help but be glad that he dodged the bullet which he was obsessed with for five years.

Part 1: Plot Summary of Triumph Above All
The story follows Skylar who had the misfortune of being drugged. He tried to escape causing irreversible and damaging consequences, but luck was not on his side that night, of course. Skylar encounters a woman who comes to him while he tries to hide away. He was unable to hold his control, and he forced himself on the woman. The next day, she was gone. Skylar felt remorseful about violating an innocent woman. He was deployed; therefore, he could only send someone to get information on the woman.
For five years, Skylar communicated with the woman whose information he received. He provided a means to take care of her financial needs and planned to marry the woman when he retired. However, upon his return, Skylar met the scene of the woman he was supposed to marry, chumming it up with another man. Yvonne told Skylar that she did not want to marry a foot soldier. Apparently, the invitation to the Commander’s retirement ceremony had elevated her status and standards.
Skylar was insulted and laughed at, unknown to them that he was the Commander who had sent the invitation. However, one person defended Skylar. It was Yulia. Out of spite for her cousin, Yulia who interfered in her matter, Yvonne insulted Yulia with her predicament which brought shame to her five years prior; a child without a father. Yvonne unknowingly revealed that Yulia was the woman that Skylar had taken that winter night, five years ago.
Without giving away his true identity, Skylar proceeds to educate the people that looked down on the mother of his child. His brand of education is a lot of slapping.

What do we know about the commander that is retiring? Well, I know he’s not a foot soldier, it’s right there in his title. However, for those who have not met him yet, don’t worry because he’ll be making his appearance in no time. The sheer stupidity of a person is not measured by their wealth and status. Some people are just dumber than dirt. When a man promises to give you a life of glory, do you still stick to the little shit that likes your cousin?
Part 2: Meet the Main Character of Triumph Above All
Skylar
He is a revered man who obtained his status and wealth with a lot of hard work. Skylar has the most direct personality, and it is enough to appraise this person as one without any particular flaws. Well, at least not the ones that are too glaring. Yes, he is a little violent and his words easily sound boastful. However, the man is so much more than that. A man who takes responsibility without being told to is a perfect man.
The Commander
Skylar doesn’t even make the effort to deceive the people around him, yet they quickly conclude that he is a powerless and penniless foot soldier. The easy way a person can fall prey to judging a book by its cover is just crazy. There is no way to know who’s who in the world we live in. Keeping quiet makes for a good way to see the snakes that covet gold.
Status
Majorly, all families like to marry their children to people with status and wealth. But it poses a problem when that desire clouds judgment. Aristocratic families are possibly the worst. They work so hard to give their children picturesque lives that only seem beautiful on the outside but are rotten on the inside. Here we have a perfectly nice man with the money, power, and status that comes with a long list of meritorious service done in a military capacity. Yet, they only realized that he wasn’t a simple soldier after two old men eagerly called him master.
Part 3: Intense Chapter from Triumph Above All
Chapter Nine
Yulia spoke furiously on the phone. She was angry at the bastard who had sent an inexperienced doctor to operate on her father. Nicholas denied it and still claimed that his uncle was away. Yulia called him out completely because the same uncle that Nicholas claimed was away at a conference, stood in front of her.
Nicholas snapped as well, threatening Yulia and her family as well as Skylar. He hung up and everyone was silent. The call had been placed on a loudspeaker, so they all heard everything. That was the son-in-law they were eager to marry into their family.
Speaking of Lincoln, Yulia’s father, he got the memo that the person he had been calling master, who had saved his life, was the same person who had caused his recent heart attack. Lincoln was so furious he nearly cried. Everything seemed like an elaborate joke.
The chancellor was unconcerned with the family drama and just went ahead to offer Skylar a hundred million dollars if he would supervise their department. Skylar saw through his plans and refused. It would be troublesome. Meanwhile, everyone present was astounded as they considered how much Skylar’s skills were worth.
Yvonne who had discarded Skylar heard the amount and thought she could still get him back based on his obsession that ran for five years. She was promptly shut down in an embarrassing manner.
On the other hand, Betty who had been against Skylar heard the amount and her tongue completely turned inside out.
