The story tells of Eve, a young girl forced to grow up with the burden of a secret that she must not tell, no matter what. Eve is caught, however, but while she manages to escape, her mother does not. In a world that hunted her kind, can Eve hide well enough to avoid getting caught?
“Allure Of The Night” starts as a very frustrating tale. Yes, frustrating because we read about the increasingly difficult life of a mother and daughter forced to live under the most unideal circumstances. Their lives are shrouded in an inevitability that is so palpable, you practically taste it on your tongue. Frustrating because we see a girl without an unworthy bone in her body, get trampled and preyed on by society.
It is a time where and place where it is the most intense, the unspoken societal disgrace of a woman pushed to dire means in order to provide for herself and her child. They lived so poorly and tragically; it really jumps out at you how unfair people can be. So, what if she found a means to provide for her child? Did she kill a person? No? Then mind your business.
The story explores the themes of identity, societal pressure, loss, and fear, among others. The immersive quality of the tale ensures that readers are kept turning pages. It is a testament to the adeptness of the author who didn’t fail to give us amazing characters that bear powerful backstories. The protagonist is a perfect ball of determination and potential, we can’t wait to see just what she encounters in the future.

Part 1: Plot Summary of Allure Of The Night
The story follows Eve, a mermaid who must stay hidden in a world that was eager to have her flesh and bones ground into a paste. Yes, paste that would most likely go into a cream or some other terrible substance that humanity preoccupied itself with. Well, it doesn’t have to be pasted. Nevertheless, what are mermaids; a species that cried pearls and were beautiful to the extent that it was sinful? They’re viewed as raw materials, or even as commodities.
It’s unfortunate that Eve was born as one. Not for any sort of prejudice, but rather for the stigma that came attached to this identity. She had to live in secrecy, but at least she had her mother. The woman did whatever she could to provide for and protect her daughter. Nothing was over the line when it came to her child. Rebecca planned to suffer all that could be, all for the sake of her child. The child she hoped would grow into someone impressive in society. Her daughter would never have to do the things she did, no matter what.
It is unfortunate, however, that Rebecca was unable to see it happen. Eve had not gotten the chance to say a proper goodbye to her mother as she fled. It was years later and a life that was lived with a nice woman, Eve was a grown woman now, albeit a clumsy one. Can she keep this secret hidden? What happens when a silver-haired blast from the past shows up in her life once more?
Part 2: Main Character of Allure Of The Night
Eve
She is obedient, kind, and almost naive. She is a girl without much in the way of ambition, but she embraces happiness fully. Eve lived a life on the streets. She lived with her mother and quickly understood that they were not liked by the people that were around them.
The class divide was one of the most glaring things that a child could have experienced at the hands of society at large. She had seen her mother scorned and bruised, but never did the woman forget to smile for her daughter. It was a smile that lit up Eve’s world.
Eve’s father had been brutally killed, and she never got to meet the man. However, she learned from her mother the love that her father had for them. There were so many secrets that surrounded them; Rebecca could only caution her daughter to stay hidden and away from prying eyes. They didn’t have friends or family; it was a lonely life that couldn’t be helped.
Rebecca was scorned by society for the methods she used to keep herself and her child fed. They thought she’d given birth to Eve by one of her clients. Rebecca didn’t mind them assuming such a thing because it was much safer than the truth. Eve was born a mermaid and grew up in this place that killed her kind, she learned how to be from her mother, and saw the woman die in front of her eyes. However, Eve’s story may see the light as she confronts possible exposure once again.

Chapter Seven
Eve spotted her mother, but she could not go to her as she was separated from her by the glass. However, her mother was not alone. The back of her head was held by the man who owned the manor as she pleaded to be set free. The man continued to press her mother to transform. But Rebecca really was only human. The butler was sent to get Eve and Rebecca struggled. She was slapped by the man who told her to shut up and be still, but Rebecca refused.
Rebecca still tried to reassure the man that what the butler saw was untrue, but the man responded by dealing her a wound to her stomach. The man tried to strangle Rebecca and she took up a shard that had come off the broken tub in the wake of her struggle. She stabbed the shard straight into the man’s eye and he growled in pain and anger. Rebecca didn’t stop there; she took another shard and this one went into the man’s stomach.
Eve was finally able to come in and Rebecca took her quickly and hid both herself and Eve in the corridor. They made their way down the stairs, but Rebecca forgot about the trail of blood that she was leaving behind. They were able to bypass the servants, but soon they were spotted by the master of the house and his men. One of the men caught up to them and grabbed a hold of Rebecca. The latter told her daughter to run. With a smile, Rebecca bid farewell to her daughter before a hand ran her through.
