Going into the story, the tone set by the initial synopsis or description set by the author had the reader expecting that they were going to get a wholesome story pertinent to a man finding his lost love and formulating a relationship with that love for saving his life. Though, it appeared to be quite the contrary.

The story starts off in the setting of a luxury villa, in a room encompassed by a seductive scent that had essentially driven Mason out of reason.

Underneath the covers, Mason and Bella were entangled. Bella kept pleading and demanding that she be let go, with the only response Mason giving her being that she belonged to him. Bella was completely overpowered by Mason and his muscular figure. After a couple of intakes of cologne and a fair bit of quarreling, Bella stopped struggling.

The pain she felt transitioned into pleasure, enough pleasure to put her to shame on the basis of her previous reaction. Bella woke up the next morning to the sounds of birds chirping, only to observe numerous pieces of clothes including ripped clothing scattered around the room.

She glanced to her side, seeing that Mason was there, sleeping. As slight background, she had saved him two years ago from the coastline and slept with him on that day since he was much gentler after being in a coma. Though, she ran away from embarrassment.

Mason had run over Bella with his car the night before, right after Bella was kicked out of her mother’s house. She caught a cold in the rain and was in Mason’s hands after the incident beforehand. Despite the events of the night before, Mason was very insistent on taking care of her and called up a doctor to check up on Bella as well.

Part 1: Defying Expectations in Forever Love

Unexpected Introduction to Forever Love

The beginning of this novel, or well the concept of it, was not necessarily bad by any means. However, it was very weird for sure. The author, in the novel’s description, gave us a very generalized image of what was to be expected within the novel, and a contrasted version of our expectations was presented to us.

That aside, the introduction felt somewhat interesting. While the events were ridiculous in themselves, they were intriguing to read and certainly caught my interest. Digesting the fact that Bella had slept with the same person twice as a result of similar ‘savior’ situations was beyond difficult, though the events of the later chapters make it easier to get by.

Part 2: Main Theme of Forever Love

Forever Love is a primarily romance-based novel that expresses its genre through the general theme of acceptance. Mason and Bella’s initial experiences were nothing short of crazy and unrealistic.

Having their starting points be the origin of any romantic relationship would be an alien concept, though the author made it work somehow. As time goes on, the fact that Mason essentially forced himself on Bella becomes a forgotten memory as his favors pile up over and over.

Self-acceptance is another concept that this novel fleshes out heavily. The application of this is seen mostly in Bella, who grows to accept her new reality and new life as someone who gets taken care of by better people. Her new friends change her and let her know her real value, unlike her past family who valued her not more than a nanny.

Surprisingly enough, you can expect a fair share of drama within this novel. The spicy kind that gets you interested in how much of a catastrophic event it’ll cause.

Part 3: Understanding Bella’s Character in Forever Love

Bella in a Good Mood

The character that gets probably the most attention is Bella, the story revolves around her which is evident in pretty much every chapter. Her character and her personality essentially shape the story in a sense if we go by that observation.

I felt that, overall, her character was entertaining when the context is advancing the plot. However, her character just feels too unrealistic. She was basically used in the first chapter, though the author admits that her enjoying it was something that would bring anyone an insurmountable amount of shame.

While Mason progressively does pile up the favors he has for her, the fact that she completely forgets her initial interaction with him does make sense but could have been done in a better fashion.

When necessary, her character and personality overall can be fairly hilarious and cool. That is something I can appreciate. Bella’s character in itself may be imperfect though inevitably, this is a drawback that not many novels can completely eradicate.

Part 4: Forever Love Brings Out Fuzzy Feelings!

A guilty pleasure of mine in regard to this novel is that I can’t help but enjoy the wholesome interactions between Mason and Bella alongside Bella and her friends.

Mason and Bella’s relationship is one that is densely packed with character development and brings out the best reactions from the reader. The series doesn’t target itself to be on the dark side, though it doesn’t target itself to be overly wholesome either. It is the perfect ratio of serious to wholesome which keeps you entertained through and through.

Mason and Bella particularly bring out a feeling of envy within the reader. For the male readers, Bella’s straightforwardness and acceptance of bizarre situations with a hint of reluctance feel like a very desirable trait of someone you would want.

Mason’s charm and physical features could entice any female. These envied traits are embedded into the characters which inevitably just add to the level of enjoyment the reader has.

Part 5: Conclusive Remarks

Eternal Love being Achieved

Forever Love is a novel that isn’t perfect by any means. In fact, some may even argue that it portrays mediocrity at best. Though, it has a certain way of speaking to the reader through its characters. The characters give this series a plethora of life and expression.

The writing isn’t over the top, but it isn’t atrocious to an extent that takes away from the novel’s potential either. The story isn’t a master craft that has everything perfectly planned down to the very last element, though it isn’t something that was completely unplanned with no thought, effort, or passion input beforehand.

Forever Love is a completely neutral piece of writing that produces some of the most bizarre and weirdly wholesome situations for its readers to enjoy. That’s what makes it shine. Go give this a read!
