All Out of Love is an interesting novel that takes the concept of forced marriage, molds it into something different, and then lets loose with the creativity of the author.
The story starts off no different than many other novels that have a dominant male lead. While I would have appreciated something that was slightly more unique in a story based on redemption and acceptance, what the author did while fleshing out the story was pretty interesting, to say the least.
Carlos opened the door in front of him, witnessing Celia frustrated over trying to get bed sheets to tear up, complaining that the quality was too good. In quite a comedic way, Celia was too focused to notice the door clicking open or to notice Carlos slowly approaching her.
He handed her a pair of scissors to ease her job and she thanked him for it. Though, he wasn’t the type of person she should be thanking considering her situation, and dropped the scissors when the realization hit her.
She tried to run but it was useless, Carlos then asked for ‘her answer’ and he wanted it then and there. Celia replied that she was unable to marry him for which she was dropped on the ground. Carlos faced her on the ground, displaying just how handsome he was, which made Celia’s heartbeat fast. Carlos claimed that ‘no’ was never going to be taken as an answer. It also turned out that saying no would mean Celia was turning back on her word.
Saying she shared no feelings for him, Carlos narrowed her down to a wall and reminded her of the past. He had feelings for her because of her quiet and reserved sense of self, which fueled him to rip the button shirt apart right there.

Part 1: Main Theme of All out of Love
All Out of Love is a romance in which the conflicts between the two main characters, Celia and Carlos, fuel the romance and love. However, the issue at hand for them is that one side is, well, ‘out of love.’
A dominating male lead like Carlos who gets what he wants without having to ask twice gives the novel a ton of tension. The fact that Celia had a boyfriend beforehand named Ron was daunting enough for Carlos, though he was weary more of whether he had touched her beforehand or not. This displays the inner personality of Carlos, and these discoveries are apparent to the reader throughout the novel.
Drama and intense situations heavily carry the novel paired with a fair share of emotional scenes and proper romance. They were crafted very well, though the only thing that’s left to be desired is something unique to the scenes at hand. When the scene transitions from something dramatic into something heartwarming, you definitely feel the impact of it.
Part 2: Rapid Character Development in All Out of Love
The novel introduces you to very defined characters. Celia was an individual that was shy, unable to declare her opinion and impose it, and was the cutest type of person imaginable. Carlos was someone who was daring, confident, intimidating and commanding. These two characters were complete contrasts to one another, and Ron’s character made things very conflicting.
Carlos’ constant, unadulterated abuse changed into something else as the worth of his marriage was at stake. Celia eventually starts to realize her worth in the world, taking fewer cases of abuse and becoming her own individual that was cemented into the story.
Character development is something that really brightens up the story, you can feel a change in the personalities of the characters every couple of chapters which makes you feel the value of what you read.
Part 3: Interesting Analogies in All Out of Love
What can be loved most about this novel was the initial take it had on a serious issue in society. Forced and conditional marriages are something that really plagues it. People weep at the thought of such situations, with the victims themselves being unable to express their own opinions. All Out of Love was an exploration of this idea in society.
By exploring this concept, we get to know more about this problem and at the same time, we get an entertaining story with many emotional ups and downs which eventually transforms into a story that’s actually really wholesome. The author was very daring, and while the execution wasn’t especially unique in having an intimidating male character, the concept itself and the background to it is.

Part 4: Symbolism in All Out of Love
All Out of Love, as a title, can have two meanings. The first is that an individual, let’s say in the perspective of Celia, has no love remaining to share with her partner. That was the observable case at the beginning of the novel where everything pertinent to a romantic relationship felt very forced.
However, the second meaning can be relevant to doing everything, in terms of actions, out of love. This was the case with the later parts of the novel when the characters finally start gaining some chemistry and development, slowly getting more comfortable around each other and getting past drama.
These two hidden meanings within the title were something probably unintended by the writer, though you can find yourself getting attached to it.
Part 5: Conclusive Remarks
All Out of Love is not a masterpiece, it is above average at best. Though, that is only when you look at it from a viewpoint that only concerns the story.
The story isn’t unique, though it is enticing. The characters aren’t unique, though they’re beyond entertaining and have the reader feeling things like never before. The executions of the story aren’t especially amazing, though they’re not terrible enough to never be able to enjoy the novel.
The point is, the novel is imperfect in a manner that doesn’t degrade itself. It has a fair bit of personality, a fair bit of intensity, and a fair cast of characters that get you emotionally invested in the story. It’s an imperfect and enjoyable amalgamation of amazing elements within a novel.
This novel is an exceptional read, albeit conditionally, and will definitely be worth your time.
