Akiras world had shattered beyond recognition. His parents were nowhere to be found, and he had no family or friends as there was not a single person in sight while he walked through the Ruins of The Old World. Yes, the old world as they knew it had crumbled to dust.
If it was just that the old world had turned to ruins, and that anyone that happened to have survived up to the point that Akira was seen trekking among the ruins, it would have been better off.
Instead, machines that were formerly built and served as security in the old world had malfunctioned and attacked anyone and anything in sight, friend or foe, provoked or unprovoked. It was such a time. After all this, Akira was found wandering the ruins, hiding from these former machines that had now turned into monsters, and looking for a way out of the slum without dying.

Part 1: Main Story of Rebuild World
Akira wondered about the slum and ruins, trying to find relics and weapons that he could use to arm himself so that he would make it to the other side of the slum when he saw something that intrigued, scared, and challenged him all at the same time.
In Rebuild World Book, amidst the remains of human parts that had been eaten up by the destitute slum and ruins both by nature and monsters alike, Akira saw a girl floating just some yards away from him. It was the strangest thing to see. Akira froze to the ground, unable to move at the sight of this.
The mysterious girl was naked, yet she was not afraid or ashamed of this fast enough for her to seek cover after she spotted Akira, instead, she floated closer to him. Afraid, Akira pointed his gun at her, asking her to stop or else he would shoot, but it fell on deaf ears as the more Akira spoke, the closer the floating girl who later introduced herself as Alpha glided towards Akira.
Eventually, Akira could no longer hold himself back, and he squeezed on the trigger in a bid to shoot Alpha, but she disappeared. Before Akira knew what was happening, he saw Alpha right beside him. Now, she was clothed. Afraid, and doing so many different things at the same time, Akira tried to touch the girl, but his hands slipped through her. He couldn’t touch her body he could only see her.
In Rebuild World Book, Akira lived in the slums ofKugamayama city. Kugamayama city was a city in the old world where ancient civilization started in the first place until chaos happened and divided the city into three different parts, housing three different classes and statuses of people.
The upper district housed the rich, influential, and elite, while the middle district harbored the average wealthy class of people, then there was, of course, the lower district. The lower district was outside the wall ofKugamayama city, and these were the poorest neighborhoods ofKugamayama, up till beyond the outskirts of the city there was the slum where one could find people like Akira.
Akira was leaving the slum and trying to make it into Kugamayama city. He wanted to enter through the wall. Akira had literally nothing while he lived in the slum, or the wasteland, as it was usually called.
No money, parents, means of living, education, and other were available for children like Akira, and whenever the monsters that had been unleashed wanted to attack the city, it was the people outside the wall ofKugamayama city that suffered it. People like Akira.
So, he was leaving. He wanted better. Akira had survived three attacks on the wasteland by the monsters, of which on the third attack, he managed to kill a small dog monster, after he had acquired a petty weapon.
Akira was trying to become a hunter in this era because a lot of benefits were attached to being a hunter, including the chance of buying an entire city if he sold enough relics from his hunt.
Also, it was possible to start a nation in this era if one was able to take control of the machinery that had now become loose and malfunctioned around the city. Those were the military weapons of the city, and if one was able to control them, of course, just like every other regular city even in today’s world, you can take the nation by force and unawares.
Back to the present moment in the old world, Rebuild World Book narrates that Akira met this mysterious girl called Alpha, and she was a ghost. Alpha needed help from anyone that could see and hear her as a ghost, and the person also had to be a hunter in order to fulfill the task she had.
The task was that this person that would listen to and help her, would delve into a certain ruin that must have been important at the time, fetch something for her, and in return, she would support the person and help the person to claim all the relic and valuables that were in the ruin.
Remember, the more the relic and valuables that a hunter was able to achieve, the closer he was too extreme wealth and power in Kugamayama city.
Part 2: Main Characters of Rebuild World
Akira
Akira was the boy in charge of Rebuild World. The main character of the book sought to become a hunter, opting to try out his luck in leaving the slum and becoming wealthy. The entirety of Rebuild World Book is about how Akira tried, failed, tried again, met with obstacles, and in the end won while trying to change the narrative of his life.
He wanted to see the end of his supposedly miserable life, and he took the risk to make it happen along the line, help came. Akira lets us as readers understand that if you want something bad enough, you should go after it, and along the line, help would surely come.
Alpha
Alpha was a ghost that had been looking out to meet someone like Akira for a long time. Apparently, nobody that had passed by her threshold could see and hear her at the same time, but Akira could, and she could not contain herself as soon as she realized that she had found herself the person that could be of help to her.
It didn’t matter to Alpha if Akira said that he was starting to be a hunter for the first time, she insisted and coaxed him to help her to delve into certain ruin. Obviously, she had secrets from that ruin that she needed to handle but could not now that she had become a ghost. Read the book to find out about this interesting plot.
Part 3: Evaluate Rebuild World
A decent attempt at a fantasy book that is worth the read, the author tried as much as possible to create an outstanding book. Well, during this subtle chase at perfection, the author did too much and made the book cumbersome to understand.
Especially the part where the narration about how the old world formed from ancient times until the current time was taking place. Regardless, Rebuild World Book promises to be an interesting read from the first chapter, and if readers can endure the cumbersome explanations in between, it would be an eventful read by all means. An eighty percent scorecard from me.
