Elizabeth's POV: “Elizabeth!” “Coming!” I'm Elisabeth Esmè Montague. I'm 25 years old and I live with my parents in New York City. Yep. The city of lights. There's not much to know about me. Im young and I'm broke. My parents aren't rich but they're definitely far from poor. But now to the important stuff. I have an interview with Melody Milore! THE MELODY MILORE. She is the CEO and founder of one of the most successful modelling agencies in the entire world and the most gorgeous person ever! She also has a owns clothing and makeup line. And I stand a chance of becoming her assistant! How? I don't know. My mom handled everything. Fun fact, my name Elisabeth comes from my mom's name Lisa and- “Beth!” “I'm coming. Jeez!” I say as I rush downstairs. I see my parents waiting for me. Smiling at me. I smile back as I hug my mom. “Beth we are so proud of you. Whether you get the job or not.” mom sniffles as she strokes my cheek. “That is absolutely true. Meeting Melody Milore is no joke Beth.” dad says. He's in a hurry but he stops to give mom a peck. He kisses me on the cheek too. “I have to go or I'll be late for work. Best of luck my little emerald!” he shouts as he runs out the front door. Mom turns to me and takes my hands. “Good luck Beth. I love you so much. Ok?” she says as she pulls me in for a hug. “Yeah yeah.” I say as I roll my eyes. My parents are too much honestly. My mom is too emotional, like to the point where it's annoying. And my dad, well he's cool. I love my parents so much. They're always there when I need them. I wouldn't be able to manage without them. Of course I'll never tell them that. I walk out the front door and get into my car. It's a gift from my best friend. Angeline. She's like a sister to me. It's a really good car, like if I sell it, I'll get loads. But I can't sell a gift I got from my best friend. Luckily I won't be tempted to sell it. Saying being Melody Milore's PA has a decent salary is a huge understatement. It's only a 10 minute drive from where I live to the Milore Fashion Building so I get there with 15 minutes to spare. I didn't have breakfast so I decide to get something in my favourite cafe. I get out of my car and walk into the cafe. I sit by the window as usual. I order myself a whole wheat donut and a mug of black coffee. As I sip on my coffee, my phone starts ringing. A smile forms on my lips and I answer. “Angie.” “Have you met her?” she asks eagerly. “Wow. Here I am thinking my friend actually wants to check up me . But no. She wants to know if I've met Melody Milore.” I say mockingly. “I'm sorry. I'm just so happy for you! Like this is HUGE!” she squeals excitedly. I laugh lightly. “I can't believe it myself. You think I'll get the job?” I ask, nervous all of a sudden. “Of course! If they don't take you then they're stupid. But...you still need to make a good impression. What are you wearing?” “Night's black dress from Melody's latest collection. I'm also wearing my black coat and black heels.” I say, caressing my dress. “All black. Love it. And you can totally do this babe. Just believe in yourself. I have to go but I'll call you later. Love ya.” “Love you more. And thank you.” “Anytime.” Angelina is like the sister I never had. We've been best friends since the forth grade and love her to death. I don't know how we are even friends. We are complete opposites. She's outgoing. I'm an introvert. She's confident. I'm awkward. She's filthy rich and gorgeous and looks like a hollywood star. On the other hand I look like a...I don't know what exactly. I'm not saying I have bad looks. People tell me I'm pretty from time to time. I have voluminous, long curly brown hair, emerald green eyes, pale pink lips and freckles. But Angeline is way prettier than me. Like is has to be the most beautiful girl I have ever seen. Long blond hair, blue eyes, full pink lips and flawless skin. She's basically 'the girl next door' type. For a person as rich and beautiful as her, she is the most down to earth and humble person I have ever met. She never makes anyone feel inferior or unworthy. She is so nice and kind and giving. I can praise Angeline for days and it won't be enough. I hang up and try to finish my food but I leave some coffee in my mug. I have about 2 minutes to get to my interview. I get up and as I turn, someone bumps into me and I lose my balance. I fall to the floor. Everything happens slowly. I fall and a cold liquid falls on my head trailing all down my coat and dress. It's so cold and my head hurts from the frozen ice blocks that hit me. I look up and I see the most handsome man I have ever seen. He has beautiful blue eyes and jet black hair. He looks so familiar. Almost like he's a celebrity. But in this moment, I don't really care. My dress in covered in milky ice coffee! He holds out a hand to me but I don't take it. My eyes fill with tears. I get up a blond haired girl rushes towards me. I swear I've seen her before. “Can't you watch where you're going?! ” she yells at me. Seriously?! I'm the victim! I look at my watch, completely ignoring her. I'm late. “s**t!” I say as I run out of the cafe. I can feel that everyone is looking at me as I run to my interview, abandoning my car. I get there at 9:05 and I run inside to the reception. The receptionist stares at me. Everyone stares at me actually. I don't blame them. I know I look crazy. My hair is all messed up, I'm sweating and my some parts of my clothes are wet. “I'm so sorry to bother you. I'm Elisabeth Montague and I have an interview with the CEO. Mrs Milore.” I say breathlessly. “It's Miss Milore. And you had an interview. About 5 minutes ago. Im sorry.” she says apologetically. “Please. I had a little accident on the way here but I can't leave without meeting Miss Milore.” “Listen. Miss Milore is a very busy person. You don't even know how lucky you were to even get an opportunity to meet her personally. I really can't do anything. She's already in another meeting and after that she has 3 other meetings. After that it's lunch and Miss Milore doesn't want to be disturbed by anyone during lunch. Besides, the email you got clearly stated that if weren't here at at exactly-, listen, I'm sorry but you missed your window.” “Please ma'am. I'll do anything. I need this job. If you can do anything at all, then I beg you. ” I say desperately. She sighs but picks up her telephone and dials a number. “Hello? Yes. I have with me here Elisabeth Montague and she's late for her assistant-interview with Miss Milore. Yes. Yes. Ok thank you Miss Hugh.” As I'm about to speak, she hold up her hand and dials another number. “So sorry for the disturbance sir. Yes. I have with here with me Elisabeth Montague and she had a meeting with Miss Milore about 15 minutes ago but she missed it. Yes. No. Not at all. Thank you.” she says politely and hangs up. She looks at me. “I'm sorry Miss Montague. I really-” The ringing telephone cuts her off. She picks it up. “Milore Fashion. How can I help you? Yes. Yes, I have her here. Yes. Thank you so much sir. I'm sure she'll appreciate it.” She puts her phone down but this time, she smiles. “Aren't you just the luckiest girl in the world. Your interview is back on. 2pm this afternoon. You can leave if you want and come back later.” I'm confused. Didn't she just say I missed my chance? “I don't understand. How?” I ask, beyond confused. “Mr Cody Milore called Miss Milore and told her that you would be late for your interview. He says you had an accident at a cafe and it's his fault.” I knew it! It was Cody Milore! The guy at the cafe! Miss Milore's only son! And the girl he was with was Brittany Grace. His best friend and one of the most elite models in the entire world! She is literally on every billboard in New York and she is Milore Fashion's most demanded model. And I just ignored them! How did I not recognize them?! “Thank you so much ma'am.” I say as I release a sigh of relief but above all, grateful. “Call me Kate and it's not me you should be thanking. ” “Right.” I smile.“Its Cody Milore.”
