You know nothing

  * Lia's POV*    A Girl... A Boy... And a wolf...  Eight years ago in school, Jane Alst met William Ashton... She immediately got obsessed with him, even without speaking... Just one glimpse at him, and she's head over heels all over him...   He's a handsome guy, there is no question in that.. but that girl.. she .. rejected the fact that she gonna meet her mate one day and began spinning circles around William... Until.   She met him... Our mate... Goddammit, I was so ready to fall in love with him.. his smell, his appearance.. so inviting.. and yet, that monster Jane didn't care a s**t about the strong pull she would feel anytime she's close to him.    And I .. a poor wolf who wasn't heard, not even for once, just listened to her plans and observed what she did. That's how I ended up almost begging a witch to kill me... Which she refused to do and decided to help me get a chance in life... I'm thankful for it... I'm.  But after all these years of being imprisoned. I'm not sure if I'll be able to grasp the strings of life as a grown-up woman and not a wolf... But guess what? It doesn't matter I can or not. I have to try anyway...   ***   Sitting in that train... So unusual, having a feel of a human body instead of just being an orb inside of someone. Legs... And hands instead of paws. I'm not even sure if I can shift into my wolf form... But Rowena didn't mention anything of it, so I should be able... I'll try it out once somewhere in the woods...  Trees, lakes, and roads passed as the train went to the destination Rowena chose for me...  As a friendly staff walked by, I got suggested to buy something to eat, which I agreed to...   Devouring two sandwiches, soda, and then moving to a pack of chips tried to think of what to do once I arrived...  Nothing came into mind as I have no idea how or where to start looking for a place... Or... I could just shift and sleep in the woods .. for a wolf it wouldn't be cold... If I can.  ***   I begged and begged her to stop what she was doing, but every time the answer would be...  '  Shut up , you useless mutt!'  This phrase.. it will ring in my head forever... The idea that I had to kill my own mate because I was too weak, is destroying what's left inside...   Yeah... Thinking, how can a wolf be weaker than his human? Mostly because of that monster... Jane.. wasn't giving a s**t of me for years... All she wanted was my wolf form, but when it came to my soul. It was bent and broken, I'm surprised I can still function...  To resist her treating me like I'm some defected vessel for her... It was almost impossible, especially after that night...  I remember as it happened yesterday...     She would go to meet him in the clearing in wood with only one thought...  ' Reject him at any cost..'     He was so handsome, and his wolf was clawing out for me.. but that... that monster began saying that she rejects him. I could see his heart break from those words into million pieces. But he didn't accept the rejection no matter what.. and then it happened...that b*tch got so pissed of him that she stabbed a freaking knife in him. He cried till the moment his breath stopped asking why... saying that he did nothing to deserve it. I know he was right, but she didn't care. All she wanted was William freaking Ashton, which already had a mate and never showed her the right attention. She was only a booty call for him.  She couldn't get used to the idea that she was rejected by William, so she looked for someone who would help remove his alleged mate out of the picture so she could go back to her ''rightful place''... Fortunately, she failed, and I don't need to spend the rest of my life with someone who would hate me... I speak of William's wolf... He despised me while William was taking what he wanted from Jane, and I heard it all because, duh... Pack members can communicate through mind link, which is also available for wolves of the same pack... ***  I never thought I would be saved, but... But then. This witch, Rowena, showed up, and she knew straight away that all of it was that crazed human while I had nothing to do with it... I have no idea how she knew. But she helped me to put her to sleep forever, well, she changed us places, just that she wouldn't be able to speak with me like I could with her... I'll never know why she helped me, but I'm grateful. Because if no... I think I would already be dead. At first I didn't want to admit that I wanted a chance in life because I wasn't expecting one... but now. I'm on my way to my happy ever after... Maybe a broken one, but still... better than death...   ***  Rowena gave me some clothes, cash, her number in case of emergency and even bought a train ticket to New York, she said I can go whenever I want after arrival... I thought for a while, and I think it's far enough... I'll stay here, as well there is one place not so far from the train station that could make me a new identity...   How do I know? Jane has this little book which she always takes with her. It has details of everyone she has to deal with, either help them or return a favor. And this place is in debt for Jane... Well, was, but no one knows that she is gone...  ***   I arrived at my destination and quickly went to look for a place to eat... Found some unnamed little restaurant on the other side of the road from the train station...  ' Hello, what would you like to order?' a friendly-looking young waiter asked.   ' Hi.. Um , could you suggest something, I just left the train after tiring trip..' I asked him friendly. Because duh.. as a wolf I have no idea what they eat... Jane never taught me a shit.. the waiter smiled.  'Of course, if you would like something simple, I could suggest our soup of the day as appetizer , meshed potatoes with sausage and bbq sauce, a glass of red wine of course , what meal without wine.. And for dessert chocolate waffles with ice cream on top ..' he suggested smiling.   Wine? I think it's alcohol.. hey.. but what gives? Need to celebrate new life somehow...  ' Please , all of it sounds so tasty .'   ' Alright , your soup should arrive soon.' he said smiling happily from my response and went to other tables.  I was taking my time to think of everything that I should do .. but nothing was coming to me... Well, I must go and get a new identity because I'm not planning to pretend that I'm that monster so it would serve as a reminder for the rest of my life, and I don't want that...  ' Your soup..' he said putting it on the table for me.  ' Thank you..' he smiled and left. Then the potatoes with sausage arrived and soon after I finished with them, waffles...  ' I'll bring the bill within twenty minutes .' he said putting waffles for me.   Oh, the waffles... They were amazing. I got my bill, paid, and left.    Found a map on the side of a street and searched for a so-called fake document making place.  It's still early, only nine. I hope it will be open already...   Ten minutes walk, and I reached my destination, it is open to my success.   'Hidden tech.' Don't know why it's called like that.  Here we go... Jane is back to life... Stepped inside and a greasy guy lifted his head, once he noticed it was me, made a creepy smile.  ' Well well well.. Jane ! What brings you here? ' he questioned.  ' Hey... Remember? You are still in debt my man!' Yup, that's how she would have spoken.   ' Who is it now ? I guess it should be important if you are here.. You never come..' he asked.   ' Well because it's for me , duh..'   ' You!? So you weren't able to hide your secrets eventually huh...' he said surprised.  ' Funny ha... but it's none of your concern.. So can you make me one or not?!'  ' I can , you have any reference of what you would want?'  ' Not really.. just.. something completely different.'  ' Alright , let me check..' he said and hid behind the screen of a computer.  ' So... you could choose from - Belle Doil, Kara Que or Samantha Quinn..'  ' Hmm... Samantha..' I mouthed... Yup... I think this one will work.  ' The last option .'    ' Alright, just give me your old card and the new one will be done soon... You can wait here..' he suggested showing to sit on the chairs next to the window while he went to the back.   Sat down... I have like what.. eight hours to find where to sleep... oh goddess, that's amazing...   ' Here, welcome to existence Samantha Quinn, and I guess we are settled ..' he said coming back to give me my card.  ' So be it , nice doing business with you..' Thanked him and left.  * Samantha's POV*   What the hell now... Thought walking the streets, bought doughnuts with coffee, and went to sit in the park...   Oh... It's beautiful here, streets full of people, and the park... everyone who steps in there seems to enter a whole different world where everyone's just chilling. I guess this is the place I'll sleep in tonight.   Walked around just observing how life goes in the city, then... when it got dark, I found a place to hide my bag .. Shifted, and ran...   Left the city and through the woods... Stopped by a small lake... Beautiful place...  Then looked at my reflection and... what the hell...! Why the f*ck am I this strange dark red! I was brown all the time, what changed now..!? Why am I even asking... No one gonna answer anyway... Hmm... There is a faint smell of a werewolf... No. Rowena wouldn't do this to me... She knows I don't want anything to do with them anymore... Turned and began running towards the place my stuff was hidden. Once reached it, shifted and dressed quickly, walked back to the bench I sat at earlier, and fell asleep... ***  ' New here?' Someone asked.   ' Yeah .' I answered grumpily opening my eyes to see this beautiful brunette smiling at me friendly.   ' Ohh I understand that feeling.. I also came to this land of opportunities three years ago...' She said sitting next to me.   ' Bagel?'     ' Thanks.' I took it and began munching...   ' Alright.. so.. are there a destination you wanna reach within today... like friends or someone... ?' She asked looking concerned. ' I still don't know..' She raised an eyebrow.  ' Do you have anything planned for tonight?'   ' Ha! No.. nothing was planned , I just jumped in the train and came here .. As you see, I already spent a night on this bench and don't want it to repeat, but I have no idea where to start... ' I told her truthfully.  'Well then.. I think I can help, if you are okay with it..' She said slowly. ' How ?'   ' If you have money.. Which I believe you do , because no one would be that stupid to come here without any.. I could rent you a room in my apartment.. I was looking for a roommate anyway..' She said simply.   ' Why do you want to help me?'   ' Because I was in the same place you are right now and no one wanted to help me.. I was alone and had to sleep on the streets for days.. I could never let something like this happen to anyone else..' She said reaching her hand to me.   ' Ava by the way , Ava Poleen.' She said.   ' L... Samantha Quinn, nice too meet you Ava .'   ' Alright... let's go then.. I'll show you the place, then we can speak of a price and I'll have to go to work..' She said.   ***  Twenty minutes walk, and we arrived to a street which is full of apartment complexes.   ' As someone who just moved to New York you could've just brought your wallet .' Ava said with a slight laugh looking at my bag, which I can barely carry because of how heavy it is.  ' I.. this is the first time I'm out of my hometown .. I had no idea ..' I tried to explain myself... She just chuckled and led me into one of the buildings. Hmm, nothing special.. just a simple building with doors and corridors. We walked in the elevator, and she pressed number seven, I guess the seventh floor... Out of.. twelve? Doors closed, and we started moving up. The feeling is so strange, like you are standing on the ground but the air is going down... And ears, my damn ears are a bit deafened as well this pressure on the head...  Maybe next time I'll take stairs, there must be ones.  ' Now.. welcome to my humble little place..' Ava said once we went to door number seventy-three, and she opened them after unlocking. As I walked in, the entrance corridor came into view, on the right side kitchen, compared to Janes, it's bigger, and she had a house... Further on the left, a cozy-looking living room with a couch, small table, and tv... Next to the sofa is a medium-sized table with four chairs, and at the end of the corridor are three doors.   ' Left ones are mine, middle ones bathroom, and on the right if you want could be yours..' She said opening the right door for me.    The room, my room to be, already has a single bed by the window and an armchair with a coffee table next to it, as well a tiny walk-in closet.  ' That's... More than I would've asked..' I said amazed.   ' Girl... This is just a basic room in the city.. Anyway, I'm happy that you like the place, of course, you'll need to clean everything in this room because it hasn't been used since I moved in here..'   ' I will , no worries, and uh.. thank you so much for helping me Ava..'  ' Oh , it's alright , you can leave your bag here and we can go to the living room to arrange how we'll do things..' I nodded , left the bag, and we went to the living room. She reached for one of the cupboards, took out few papers, and brought them to me.   ' Here, you only need to sign this contract , pay two months rent and the keys are yours .'   'Oh , and you can take your time to read it, we can sign tomorrow as I should be leaving to work... right about.. now..' she said looking at her watch.  ' W.. aren't you afraid to leave me here?' She laughed.  ' No girl, I can recognize a lost soul like I was when I came here... I feel that I can trust you Samantha .' she said smiling.  ' I even feel that we might become good friend.. Now.. I'll go and you.. be my guest.. you can find something to eat in the fridge and read the contract , if you'll be happy with everything, we can sign it .. as well i'll borrow you stuff for bed after I'm back...'   ' Bye girl.. Rest..' She said friendly and left the apartment.  I can't believe it... How could someone I just met trust me so much...? It's insane... I looked around the place more, found a homemade lasagna.. it was so tasty...    Sat on the couch and read the so-called contract. Everything looks perfect... It basically says... That as long as I pay on time I'm good.. and successfully I have enough to make the first payment. But after... I must find a job. I should have an education to find a job, which I don't because Samantha didn't even exist until yesterday...  Will think of it tomorrow... Walked around the living room to find a pen, then signed the papers and left the amount with it on the table.  Fell asleep on the couch...   ******  -Dream-   Floating... floating somewhere... in some... fake garden? Flowers and plants around, but no sunlight, just lamps.  Then I stood up on the ground and looked around, there is no one here, except me.. what is this place... then... someone began moving my shoulder.. huh?   ******  ' Samantha? ' I began hearing Ava's voice.  ' Sam? good morning ..' She said again.   ' Oh.. hi.. it's morning already?' I asked her sitting up.  ' Yes, I'm sorry I didn't wake you up , didn't wanna disturb your rest, found the contract and just wanted to say good morning to my roommate!' She said happily giving me a cup of coffee and sitting next to me.   ' Thank you..'   ' No need , so , do you need any help , I put some cleaning supplies in your room already...' She said smiling.   ' Thank you , but I could've bough..'  ' Just accept help girl..' she said letting out a breath.   ' Alright.. Oh, as well, here is the key from apartment for you..' She said pulling a key out of her pocket.  ' Thanks..' Ava borrowed me bedding after I cleaned my room, and for the rest of the day she tried to get out anything about my life before New York...  ***  -Dream-   Floating... Standing on the ground.. vision goes better.. starting to see that I'm in some kind of a .. gathering place? And everyone is dancing... It's a... It's a club! But why am I here.. Then I smelled it.  It's so good, what is this.. vanilla hm... sandalwood...and .. amber? How do I know these scents? Well, I'm a wolf .. and we are created with a gift of recognizing all the smells possible, as well to know they are pleasant or not, and trust me... this.., it's heavenly good, like I wanna bathe in it good...   Walked towards it, through all the dancers who seemed to not even notice me... The closer I walked, the stronger the scent became... Then I stopped. The epicenter of that smell is right in front of me.. well, his back.   Reached out a hand and touched one shoulder. Blue eyes appeared... as blue as the ocean... So intense seems like they gonna consume me...  That's all I saw when everything disappeared...   ***
