The Blessed Wolf

We weren’t supposed to be out this far but I didn’t realize how far we ran. The ruins of the old pack are supposed to be off limits. I finished drinking from the lake and headed back. “Riley do you think they will know I was out there?” Riley is my wolf. “Nah, nobody comes out here.”  I caught the scent of a witch as I was leaving but shrugged it off, maybe that’s why they don’t want us here. I ran for a while longer before heading back to where I left my stuff. I loved the feeling of the dirt under my paws and the wind flowing through my fur. I shifted and started walking towards my clothes. I was so distracted that I didn’t even hear him come up behind me until it was too late. I felt rough hands grab me and turn me around, I looked up dreading who I already knew it was. Rick, the future alpha. I struggled against him as he pushed me up against the tree. "Please stop..." I pleaded with him. He wasn't listening to me, he never did. "You taste so good," he whispered into my ear. I could smell his musky scent. When I was younger I liked it. Now after everything he has done to me it just makes me sick. I could feel the bark of the tree digging into my bare back. I could still see my clothes folded neatly in the tree where I left them. If only I had come back earlier. His one hand was roaming over my naked body while the other effortlessly held my wrists above my head. He is the future alpha of this pack, and I am nothing but an omega. The chance of me getting away from him is slim but I still needed to try. His touch just makes my skin crawl; it always has. "Oh my sweet Sara, I have been wanting to do this for so long." He started kissing my neck where my mate would one day leave his mark. In a few hours I would be able to find him, I hoped he wasn’t part of this pack. The knot in my stomach grew tighter. I felt his grip leave my hands. This is my only chance, I grew my claws out and swiped at him. I got him across the face and  I took off running. "You b***h!" My heart sank when I realized I wasn't quick enough. He grabbed my long black hair, yanking me back to him. "oh no you don't!" I felt the sting before I realized what happened. His hit sent me flying into a nearby tree. Black dots swam before my eyes, blurring my vision. I tried to get up but each time I tried I fell back down as my head spun. "I was going to be gentle but apparently you like it rough." The pain in my head was so bad that what he said took a minute to sink in. Before I could react I felt his weight on top of me. "NO!" I screamed as I was pounding my fists against his chest. He chuckled, grabbed my wrists and pinned them down on either side of my head. The dirt and leaves rustled beneath me, I knew it was no use to fight. He is just too strong. I looked up at the full moon above us. Moon Goddess why? Why me? What did I do to deserve this? I felt the wind blow past my face. He pushed himself inside me. I could feel the pain of him ripping through the last thing I was saving for my mate. Silent tears were rolling from my eyes. I did my best to ignore what was happening so I kept my gaze on the moon, never looking away. I knew he was talking to me but I ignored it, I had to keep my focus on the moon. I felt a sting on my cheek, "Look at me you w***e!" I tried resisting his alpha tone but I couldn't. I turned to look at him. The evil glint in his eyes sent chills down my spine, he knew what he was doing to me. I could feel his hot seed pumping into me and it made me feel like puking. He kissed my cheek then sucked hard on my mating spot leaving a hickey. Why would he do that, he never did that before. He got up and started buttoning his pants. I just laid there waiting for him to leave. "You will not tell anyone in this pack about this!" He walked over to me, I nodded my head. "Good!" He began to walk away but he turned around and kicked me hard, sending me into a tree. Darkness started to take over and I welcomed it with open arms. When I woke up my head was pounding and I could tell hours had passed as the moon shifted. I could smell something but couldn’t pinpoint what it was. I sat up and rubbed my hands over my face. I looked down and saw my long black hair was matted with dirt and leaves. I could still smell him on me, it made me sick to my stomach. I turned to the side and emptied my stomach onto the ground.  "Sara are you okay?" "I'm fine Riley." I could tell she wasn’t buying it. "Let me take over, you're hurt." "Not now Riley.” I growled out at her. What do we do now? I could find our mate now, but after what he did nobody will want us. I stood up and walked to where I had my clothes. I quickly got dressed then leaned against a tree. As soon as I settled on the tree I began throwing up again. “Our mate will never want us.” I said to Riley, I know this would hurt her. "Sara, that's not true. Our mate will love us and protect us no matter what." I laughed at her. "No, he ruined us. We are ruined." I knew then what I had to do. I put a wall up between us as I knew Riley would try to force us to stay. We need to leave now. I made my way to my room in the pack house, thankfully I didn't see anyone. Once I got to my room I found my brown leather school bag and dumped it out on the bed. I put a few sets of clothes in it and decided I may as well take a quick shower before I go. Once I was showered I threw on some leggings and a sweatshirt and I walked down the stairs and out the front door into the cool night breeze. As I neared the Northern border I heard a low growl coming from my right. I turned my head and saw a dark grey wolf I recognized. Jerome, he is one of my brother's best friends. I watched as he shifted in front of me then walked to meet me where I was standing. I looked down at the ground instead of at him, I am too ashamed to look him in the eyes. "Sara, what are you doing? It's 4:00 in the morning." I tried to answer him but not a single noise came out. He looked worried but I couldn't tell him what happened. I tried to step around him but he blocked me and grabbed my shoulders, shaking me gently. "Sara what's wrong? What happened? I could feel the hot tears on my cheeks as he shook me. "I'm calling Alpha Jon!" That knocked me out of my numb state as fear drifted in, no! He can't! I stepped out of his grip and in one swift motion I turned into my black wolf and snatched my bag off the ground. I looked at him for a second, I saw pain and confusion, before I bolted around him. I heard the sound of paws coming for us as we ran towards freedom. Then the loud growl of Alpha Jon, and Rick! No! "Sara let me! I can get us there!" I was about to give Riley control when I was knocked off my feet. I felt tingles as me and the other wolf tumbled down a small slope. "MATE!" When we got to the bottom I stood up and growled. No, it can't be! Why would he be our mate, that is cruel! I growled again when Riley’s voice echoed in my head. “We need to get across that border now!” He was also quite confused, I don't think he expected us to be his mate. If he had he wouldn't have hurt us this way, we took off towards the border. I know we are close! I felt the shift as I passed through it. Everyone else stopped at the border looking at me. I shifted, "I Sara Lee Richardson reject you Rick Anderson, future alpha of the clear moon pack as my mate." I felt the pain in my chest, Rick felt it too as he was now on the ground in pain.  "Sara, wait! We can fix whatever happened!" Alpha Jon was now standing in his human form desperate for me to stay as a future Luna. He glared at his son on the ground. "I Sara Lee Richardson relinquish any and all ties to the Clear Moon Pack and as future luna. What he did is unforgivable." I felt a snap as all my ties were cut. I shifted again and ran as hard as we could, never looking back. 7 Months later I was able to travel all the way from the Clear Moon pack in California to the Red Moon pack in Ontario. I knew when I left I would be followed, what I did not expect was to become pregnant from that one time. Now I need to find a way to protect her. Last month they caught up to us and we managed to escape. Not before I heard his plan. He used some kind of a spell to get me pregnant with the strongest wolf ever just so he could take her power. How could he do that to his own child? He is a sick monster, thank goddess I didn’t have her when they had captured me. She was born a day later. "Don't worry Sara, we will be at the border soon." "Rogue! Stop where you are!" A voice called out a moment later. I shifted and used the blanket I had Jane wrapped in to cover myself. "I wish to speak to your alpha." I knew I was weak, I am too weak. I need this alpha to help me otherwise I don’t think I can keep running. The patrol eyed me then his eyes glazed over. He was probably mind linking his alpha. Ten minutes later a man walked up to the edge of the border. "I am Alpha Sean, this is the Red Moon Pack, what are you doing here rogue?" authority washed over his deep voice. "I mean no harm, I seek refuge for my pup." I pulled the pink blanket to the side and pulled out my precious bundle. I looked at her as tears formed in my eyes. I knew this would be the last time we met. It had to be that way. He looked at me surprised. "Why?" "We are being followed, her father cannot know of her location. He is a terrible person." "Who is her father?" his expression softened. "If I tell you, will you swear to keep her safe? He smirked at me, "She is of alpha blood isn't she?" I hesitated, he would find out anyways, “Yes.” I looked back down at her, she is sound asleep, unaware of the dangers coming for her. "Is he your mate?" I am now getting annoyed, time is running out! "Yes and he is a cruel man." "How old are you?" He asked me while he eyed me suspiciously. "I am eighteen, she is only a month old. Please help her and keep her safe." I pleaded. "It must have been pretty bad to run away while pregnant." He looked at me skeptically. "When I left I didn't know, please I need to leave here and lead them away!" I am too weak. I need to get as far from here as I can before it’s too late. "We will take her and you." he started walking towards me. "Who do I need to protect you both from?" Why would he offer to help us both? What would he gain from it? I looked at her beautiful sleeping baby face wishing to see her deep blue orbs one last time. I need to engrave her image into my memory. "Clear Moon pack. Her father is alpha Rick. I cannot stay. I need to make them think she is not here." "When you feel it's safe you are welcome to join our pack. What is her name?" "Jane, my beautiful Jane." I looked down at her, so peaceful. Her button nose and tiny fingers and toes. I took in her scent one last time, "goodbye my Jane, I will always love you!" I handed him the bundle and watched as he walked away; taking the last piece of my broken heart with him. Once he vanished from sight we ran as hard as we could. “She is safe now.” Riley tried to soothe my aching heart. Sean's pov As I held this woman's baby I knew I had to protect her. Something told me I had to. As I was walking to the pack house I noticed a note pinned to the blanket. Jane Lee Richardson Born August 25th At least I know when she was born, the same day as Jace. Emily will be thrilled to have another baby in the house. After Jace was born the doctor doesn't know what happened but she can't have any more children. It’s rare for a wolf to have something like this happen. She always wanted a daughter and I feel this will be a second chance for that. "We need to keep her safe, Sean. You don’t feel it yet but you will, she is very powerful and in the wrong hands, dangerous." “I know Drake and when she is old enough she will know everything. What do you mean powerful?” He did not respond to me at all.  As I walked through the door to the pack house the sun was setting. "Emily!" I called out, I couldn't take my eyes off this beautiful baby. "Sean you're back! What happened at the border?" She stopped in her tracks as she entered the room and saw that I was holding something. I could see tears forming in her eyes. Shock and relief came through the bond. “Someone just left a baby at the border?” She cried out. "A woman begged for me to protect her baby. Not just any woman either, it was Sara." "You mean the one that alpha was looking for? The one he said had been taken and he was searching for?" I nodded my head. "She wasn't taken, she ran away. She ran away not knowing she was pregnant. From what I gathered based on timing I would guess she ran as soon as she realized they were mates." She gasped then set the towel she was holding down. Emily walked over and took the baby out of my hands. I handed her the note and she quickly read it. "Oh Jane! What a beautiful name for such a beautiful baby! Wait, she is only a month old! Same birthday as Jace!" She looked at me wide eyed. "Yeah, I know babe. Where is Jace?" I wrapped my arms around the two of them and snuggled my face into her neck. "He is spending time with your mom." "I think we should go find them and explain the situation to my mom." I said as I continued to watch the baby girl like she was the most interesting thing in the world. "I agree." She said and I gave her a light peck on the lips then leaned forward and kissed Jane on the forehead. When I leaned back I saw her beautiful blue eyes, as blue as the ocean.  “This one is going to be a little heart breaker.” I chuckled into Emily’s neck and she nodded in agreement. “That she will be.” We walked upstairs and put Jane in a white onesie and a pair of grey pants before heading out of the house. She didn’t cry, fuss or anything, she was the most content baby I have ever seen.  We walked up to my mother in law's home and knocked on the door. She opened the door and I smiled when she looked at us stunned. “Well what do we have here?” She asked. “A baby that we are adopting.” She looked between Emily and I with the biggest smile on her face.
