The dark sky looked down on us crying as the clouds blocked us from the heavens and the birds sang no tune to celebrate the day. The last hope that we had to live and survive was draining and closed, it was close just out of reach and we hated it. Fate took us and began to beat us till we broke. Humans did nothing, but take and destroy its home, killing their nabories that shared their home. The sulfur and carbon in the plotted air sank into the hall as our suits filtered clean air. Clear skies and clean water is what we looked for in a new home as we slowly died here on earth. The last light of our dying sun came through the cracks and many cries of parents who knew their children would die. The waterfalls flowed down there hollowed out cheeks and skeleton-like body's shock in sorrow. The ticking hand of the mocking clock ticked on the wall telling us that our coffins were ready to have us sleep and disappear into the never ending void of space. The stars would be the only audience to our endless tomb, the last to our greeff and fear was the last light of our meaningless lives that were bound to end one day. The last time I would see my parents and my broken family again was both well welcomed, but saddening. In other words it was bittersweet to leave them and see them withering away like dust in the wind that I had heard so much about when learning how to survive. I hated that they were practically dying and I was strong, well fed and leaving the hell hole that I called home, but it was nice to know that they wouldn't be able to hurt me anymore with their words or mind games that they oh so loved to play. I guess this is what they deserved in life for the way that they treated me growing up, now all they did was cry begging me to stay and or take them with me. Even if I wanted to take them on aqua with me and kion, I couldn’t. They wouldn’t last ten seconds into the launch, their bones were like paper and would snap like twigs within the pushback of the gravity that we would fight to leave. They tried to hug me as the equally skinny girl checked me, and wrote down my vitals and made sure that I had been clean to leave. I looked down at her to see she was crying as she had most likely hoped that she was the one to leave this hell hole and not me. The rest of my group waited for me for them to be able to board and leave like we intended. Last check came onto the paper and the last of my vitols jolted down. We were clear. And how I wished we weren’t. The last time I would see my home and my hated family and be rushed to my death that I knew one day would come and how I craved to feel the peace that everyone said that I was to experience in my last moments. The giant ship that I didn’t understand how they managed to build was so big and shiny and new. It towered over the largest of the bunkers. I could see through the window how it looked like the once blue ocean and made me feel calm. The feeling of the new skintight spacesuits was weird on the skin, and my pack of fellow death mates came to my side. The first of us had been killed before. We wouldn’t be the last that would be going to our deaths. The loud of the electric and toxic cloud that covered the once blue sky still pored heavy and fast as the tiny asitic drops decayed the metallic roof that was replaced the other day. The titanium ship still shined but did not burn in the downpour of power of the raging and sick earth. To this day I wondered why we haven't given up on ourselves and the entirety of our existence, but the will of man to be better is one that is great I suppose? Men were the scariest of pretterors that ever existed, and they continue to haunt the remaining of the population that was unfortunate to live. The red sky looked as painful as always and the downpour was still roaring. They didn’t even try to hide that they were going to kill us and we knew it. The clean new ship felt weird to us and strange. It’s new design and clean, clear computers were unique and something like I had never seen before. The old man incharge of us since we were little came in and told us where everything was on board and many of us were just wanting to get it over with as he left we began to sit in our new death beds and waited for the others and all the supplies to be loaded and checked. My older brother Kion was the captain of the ship and I was the pilot. There were more people on the crew, but my main focus was on him. I was scared of my brother and everyone knew it. All the girls knew it, and agreed with me when we said he shouldn’t be on the ship, but Polaris never listened. He was mean and a horrible person who should die and I would not be mad if I got to be the one that was allowed to have that honor. Kion stood at 6’5 and weighed 200lbs, he was very well built and musculare. He had purple eyes and espresso colored skin and dark balck hair that matched the darkness of his heart. He had a chiseled jaw as many women said was crafted by the gods that looked down on us and laughed as we suffered. Kion was your typical prick from any old romcoms, but despite all of that he was smart enough to make sure he would “survive” and leave this god forsaken planet. Beside him was his best-friend Sammual and just like Kion he was a prick that thought he was a prince among men since most women would throw themselves at his feet. In reality they just wanted to ride Aqua out of here, he however didn’t know that. He never did help or even acknowledge those women and instead tried to hook up with the female crew members, but none of them were desperate to be with him because they already had a place on the ship. He still wondered why they never gave him a chance, I wonder who is going to tell him? He has baby blue eyes and dirty blonde hair that looks metallic in the fluorescent lights. He was as white as the virgin snow as some of the old people said, whatever that meant? And stood at 5 foot and 10 inches tall. He was average built and didn’t not like being the center of attention. He liked to poke fun at me because I was the shortest of the crew. I stood at 5 foot 2 inches tall and weighed up to 120lbs and had the same features as my brother, the only difference was that I had wider hips, a bigger back and frontside, and better legs. I was smarter than him too. He thinks that I was dumb becuse I was the “stupid piolat” that didn’t do anything of any importance and “could be remplaced by a computer.” I looked to my right and saw Tara who was in charge of the navigation. She was 6’1 and weighed 160lbs and had red hair that looked like the sky outside and pale white eyes. She was strong and smart and had been raised by one of the sciencestes in the camp her whole life. She was pale and had the “perfect proportions” as the male camp leaders would say. No good perves. To my left was Jasmine and Lance, they were identical twins and not much to them other than their combat skills, they could bench press almost 600lbs by themselves and have studied any fighting style they could since they were little. They are natural brunettes that have tan skin, they were 5’7 and looked to be at average 19 like me. And to my brothers left the one guy no one f****d with; leo. No one knew anything about Leo and he liked it that way, as he would put it “you don’t need to know anything then the bare basics” he was scary with a scarred up face that no one dared to ask how he got. Burns all over his right arm and tattoos all over his left, he stood as the tallest person in the group and the strongest. He was 6’10 and weighed about 220lbs. He could have left all the girls in this room and still run up to speeds up to 20 miles per hour. He had dark red hair and tan skin, chiseled jaw and brown piercing eyes that stared right into the pit of your soul, and looked to be around 20 years old. He was a mystery and that in itself was enough to trigger my interest. It also helped that Kion was scared shitless of him and it was hilarious every time that he was caught harassing girls. He would get a bad beating like never before every time. If I had to choose between saving Kion and Leo, I would choose Leo without hesitation. Leo treated all the women in the camp with respect and never hurt any of them physically, emotionally, or phycology. And he always minded his manners, when any girl felt down he would give them the rest if not all of his food. He would carry them with their permission if they were hurt in training to the infirmary and always made you feel safe. Once I was crying after my brother beat me and broke my arm, he just came and sat down beside me and asked “What happened?” He just sat there and listened and then carried me to the infirmary. The next day Kion was in the infirmary for several broken fingers and dislocated hands, elbows, and shoulders. He didn’t mess with me for months, it was the best 10 months in my life to be honest. He was a real doll and sweetheart to us ladies and we loved him for it and he knew we liked him. Karrol was in front of me and all we knew about her was that she was the nicest girl until she wasn't. Her face was covered and not much else other than her haight and name were known. She was 5 foot and 7 inches tall and that was it. She was in charge of power control and sonar. The speaker came on and the time that we had been waiting for was finally here. Take off. The rumbling of the ship and the pushback of the gravity fighting us and trying to keep us lost to the ship, and left us shocked. No one not since the late 2030’s has been able to leave the planet, all who have tried to leave after the storm clouds came. Any that tried crashed and burned. We lived that was the first shock of the day. The rest would be the next would have been the other eight ships that made it out all heading to the same place to start over. Our new beginning was to begin and the only problem was that there was not enough food on aqua to last us the whole trip and that was a big problem. They most likely thought that we would crash and burn just like the others. The other problem was that we could no longer reach Polaris, we were sailing blind and the only communication to the other ships and many didn’t speak english and that was the only thing that polaris taught us to speak of core that doesn't include latin and greek. We looked at Kion and he made the worst design try ant talk to the other ships and try to get them to make a jump. The jump was the one thing that we would not survive for sure and even if we did we would crash and kill the other passengers on the ship even more painful than what that storm would have done to us and he knew that for sure and we couldn’t have that. We all screamed in protest, but he did not listen as usail and did what he wanted and made sure to turn and link our location to the other seven ships and made the preparations for a jump.
