1. Witness of the Night +18
As I sang along to the rising song, I realized how full my head was. A thousand thoughts were passing by in seconds, causing my brain to fog up. I was even forgetting where I was and what I was doing. As a result of the long-term insistence of Aden and his long-term lover Uğur, we had arrived at a club.
“Whoever designed this club, it was very nice.”
Uğur said, “Kutay Aslanoğlu had it specially designed. When the man is as rich as Karun, the club is also very nice.”
It was very nicely designed. There were various boxes. Some were small, some were large and consisted of seats facing each other. The right side of the club was the bar corner where various drinks were served. On the left side, there was a huge stage. From what I could see, a DJ was choosing songs and getting people excited.
This man, whose name I had never heard before, caught my attention because the place was very nice. His name was also original. Uğur bought drinks and brought them to the box where we were sitting. He left a glass in front of each of us. I drank it. Tonight, I wanted to forget everything. I even wanted to forget that my name was Belemir.
When Uğur laughed and said, “Slowly,” I said, “I have to forget.”
When what he brought didn’t cut it, I went to the bartender and asked for the strongest drink. He looked at me with a smile and put a glass in front of me.
“You’ll forget the world after drinking this,” he said.
That’s what I wanted. My head spun as soon as I drank it. While everything was spinning, I turned my gaze to Aden and Uğur. They were kissing. I started climbing the stairs with my stomach in my mouth. I could come to my senses if I found the sink. No matter how much I climbed, I couldn’t find the sink. Finally, when I entered a dark corridor, I was holding on tightly to the sink. A man in a suit stood in front of me.
“Where?” he asked, harshly.
He looked like a bodyguard or something. I, who was normally serious, started laughing. The man looked at me in surprise, trying to understand why I was laughing.
“What do you care!” I said.
I was drunk so I spoke out of turn. It was the way I hated talking the most. When the man's eyebrows started to furrow, I laughed even harder. When a few more men came, their conversation echoed in my head, but I didn't understand. When one of them grabbed my arm and dragged me away, I screamed.
I also shouted, "Don't touch me!"
Everyone bowed respectfully at the sound of a man's voice. The man holding me also stopped.
He shouted, "What's going on here?"
His voice was beautiful. I tried to turn to look at the owner of the voice, but the man didn't let me. I held my breath when I heard the man's footsteps. A very nice smell filled my nose, and his expensive shoes came to mind. When I raised my head, I saw a dark, tall, handsome man whose muscles were visible even from here. When our eyes met, his coffee looked as if it would pierce my eyes.
The man holding me said, "Brother, the girl is drunk. We were taking her down when she went up to this floor."
The handsome man who was still looking at me said, "Leave the girl alone." The man immediately let go of me and I stumbled.
I swallowed when the handsome man held me. My short, green chiffon dress, which looked like a skirt and top, had ridden up considerably. I shivered as his hand touching my bare waist burned my body. He must have realized that I was dizzy because he picked me up. I could see everyone's surprised looks.
Without answering the man who said "Brother," he took me to a room furnished in black and red.
There was a double bed in the room with a satin duvet cover.
He put me on it and asked, "Who are you?"
While I was looking at his fabric pants hugging his legs and his shirt hugging his muscles, he hit something. I was startled. I had examined the man a lot.
When I said, "My name is Belemir," he looked straight at me.
I continued to lie down despite my brain repeating that I shouldn't be here, but I had to go. It was dangerous to stay with someone I didn't know. When I wanted to get up from the bed and leave, he grabbed my arm.
"Where?" he asked.
“I have to go to my friends,” I said.
We were so close to each other that my eyes closed. I waited for him to kiss me, realizing that I wanted to surrender to these intense feelings that I was experiencing for the first time. I felt his breath on my lips. This caused a tingling sensation in my lower half. When he connected his lips with mine, I put my hand on his arm. His hand was on my bare waist. We were kissing like we were in ecstasy. When he put his tongue in my mouth, I bit him. When I did this, he growled and came on top of me. When he pressed himself against me, I felt his hardness make me moan. I knew the wetness was spreading through my panties and I wanted more. We were both moaning as he rubbed himself against me.
He moved one hand to my bare leg and caressed it. He first moved his hands to my inner thigh and squeezed. From there, he went to dangerous areas and then went back down. This was driving me crazy. When we pulled away, out of breath, he didn’t stop and started to kiss me down my jaw. I was sure that he left his mark everywhere he kissed and that tomorrow he would bruise.
While he was kissing the visible part of my breasts, I was pressing his head tightly against me. When he added his tongue to the mix, I was burning with desire under him. I moved my hands to his groin and took his shirt off from his pants. I unbuttoned his shirt with a provocative slowness. I opened his breasts and took them off. While this view presented me with a delicious view, I bit my lower lip. While I was caressing his adonis, the dress I was wearing also found its place. Now I was standing in front of him in only my panties and bra. He planted a wet kiss on my lips. From there, he moved to my neck and first kissed and then sucked. While he continued to torture my neck, he separated my legs and leaned himself against me. I wanted his c**k, which was harder than the first, inside me. His hands went to my bra strap without leaving my body. He pulled my bra strap down from my shoulders. He put his hand inside my bra, which was right at the edge of my n*****s, and crushed the bud that had become prominent with pleasure between his two fingers.
With his other hand, he unhooked the clasp like a professional and threw it on the floor. He looked at my breasts with hunger, stuck his tongue out and licked my n*****s. I moaned and pulled his hair. While he was sucking my breast with his mouth like a baby, he was squeezing my other breast. After he moved from my left breast to the right, he showed the same treatment and started his kisses towards my belly. When his head stopped at my crotch, he took off my panties without hesitation and threw them on the floor. I moaned loudly when he pressed his lips against my womanhood. He kissed it just like my lips, and just as he was about to pull back and take off his pants, the door clicked.
He stood there in anger and shouted, “What’s wrong?”
When he said, “Kutay abi, there’s an incident. It can’t be solved without you,” the mistake I made also dawned on me. What was I doing? I was going to be with a man I didn’t know and I would never remember him.
When he stood up, he looked at me and said, “I’ll find you Belemir because you’re the only woman who’s made my heart beat faster,” and left.
When I left the room and went to Aden and Uğur, they asked where I was but I didn’t answer. They wouldn’t believe me if I said I was with the man they called Kutay Aslanoğlu.
I couldn’t say that that man had a place in my heart. When we left the club not long after, my mind was on Kutay. His touch, his look at me… It was ridiculous that these things could happen just by seeing each other once, but there was such a thing as love at first sight. While I was thinking about Leyla, Leyla, I was going to come here tomorrow and find Kutay. My decision was final.
I smiled and got in the car. Uğur was driving faster than necessary, but I was a little scared but I didn't say anything because Aden shouted, "Faster."
They didn't hear me even though I said, "Slow down."
We were all a little tipsy but still conscious. When Uğur lost control of the steering wheel, we started rolling down the ravine. The last thing I thought about was Kutay.
1 Year Later
While daydreaming with the voice rising from my headphones, I thought that I had everything but love couldn't find me. I was waiting for signs from the universe and weighing every man I came across accordingly, but the sign I was waiting for didn't come. Aden kept talking about how everything was different when I met my soulmate. He had a lover, even if it was for a long time. I wanted to be with someone not to be a lover, but to spend every moment of my life with him.
The driver stopped in front of the school. When he announced that we had arrived, I thanked him and got out. I didn't even realize when we came all this way because I was lost in dreams. My high-heeled boots made a loud noise on the ground, and I wrapped myself in my coat. When my phone’s notification sound came, I took it out of my bag and looked at it.
It was Aden’s message that a businessman was giving a speech in the conference hall and that the class was canceled. Was this the right thing to say? I had just woken up from my beauty sleep. Besides, who would give a speech so early in the morning? He was definitely a very old and talkative type. I had to go because it was mandatory to attend this conference instead of a class.
When I arrived at the conference hall, I noticed the dean talking to someone at the front. Although I couldn’t see his face because it was turned towards me, I must say that he was quite fit.
When Aden shouted “Belemir,” the fit man with his back turned to me, as well as a few others, turned to look at me.
The first thing that caught my attention was his stubble. Stubble was a man’s adornment. It was exactly the consistency I liked. His lips were thick and his eyes were the most beautiful shade of brown. While I was thinking about how I knew him, I came to when Cenker touched my arm. His gaze was on Cenker’s hand holding my arm. I shivered at the danger in his gaze and looked away.
Who was this man and how did he know me?
Cenker asked, “How are you?”
I pulled my arm away and said, “Good.” When he said, “I’m fine too. We’ll come to you for dinner tonight,” I had to hold myself back from rolling my eyes.
I hated them coming to dinner with us. After the accident, Cenker had distanced himself from me and stopped insisting on us being lovers. Since my family didn’t insist either, I was now grateful that we had an accident.
“I’ll see you tonight then,” he said and left me. I took a deep breath when he left.
Even being next to me was causing my energy to drop. When I sat down next to Aden, I learned that he was the one who was giving the speech.
While I was getting ready, Aden asked, “What did Cenker say?”
“I don’t want to hear the name Cenker,” I said.
He shook his head. That was what I liked most about Aden. He didn’t bother me. When I turned my gaze to the stage, I saw that everything was ready and everyone was applauding him.
He was known. Except for me. He licked his thick lips and started his speech.
“Hello, I am Kutay Aslanoğlu. I know most of you know me,” he said.
His name was not unfamiliar to me. I had never had anyone named Kutay around me, but his name had seeped into my bones. Aden asked me in my ear, “Don’t you think he is very handsome?”
True, he was, but his gaze was very frightening. It was as if he was shouting that I was dangerous.
When Aden said, “We went to a bar. He is the owner of that place,” I looked at him blankly.
That night, when we had the accident, I had forgotten some moments -including that night- and I never remembered them. Aden waved his hand as if to say forget it, but he continued talking.
“They say he is from the mafia,” he said, and my eyebrows furrowed.
The mafia? Was there any mafia left at this time? Aden continued talking because he was a talkative person.
“If he kidnaps me and makes me fall in love with him like Torricelli, I’ll accept,” he said, and I rolled my eyes.
“Stop reading that book. This is the real world,” I said.
Aden had different fantasies. I turned my gaze to him and began to listen to his speech. His tone of voice never ceased to affect me.
“What do I have to do to have dinner with you?” he asked.
Why was this insistence? “I don’t understand your insistence, Mr. Kutay,” I said.
He called me you, while I called him you and made it official. He closed the distance between us in one step. I was sure that not everyone was looking at us, but this closeness bothered me.
“I don’t like being rejected,” he said.
As his breath hit my face, different feelings emerged in my body. It was as if I had experienced this feeling before. I felt a tingling in my private area.
This embarrassed me, so I took a step back, said, “I like being rejected too,” and left him.
If I had stayed next to him for a minute longer while my cheeks were burning, my body’s reactions would have been different. While I wanted to stay away from him, something was pushing me towards him, even though I was seeing him for the first time. It was as if I had shared intimate moments with him before, but it was impossible. It was the first time I had seen him. When I went to Aden, he was looking at me with excitement.
“What did he say to you?” he asked. When I briefly explained the incident, he gave me an “are you stupid” look.
“You rejected the offer of the great Kutay Aslanoğlu. Girl, are you stupid? And why do you say you don’t have a boyfriend,” he said.
I shrugged.
“Didn’t you say? The mafia. I have no business with the mafia,” I said.
Aden rolled his eyes. “I won’t tell you. You have no idea how many people are lined up to moan under this man! Well done,” he said.
Yes, he was a very charismatic and sexy person, but I couldn’t be with him just because he had these qualities. Even his looks were frightening. “I said I don’t want it,” I said and left the conference hall. I didn’t even want to hear the name Kutay.
***
I had listened to Aden praising Kutay Aslanoğlu until the end of class. While I was waiting for my driver at the exit, a black car stopped next to me. I noticed the back window slowly rolling down. The person inside was Kutay Bey.
“Belemir, do you want me to drop you off?” he asked. If the driver hadn’t come by this hour, it was obvious that my father had work to do.
As I looked at him hesitantly, I saw Cenker coming towards me. So I accepted the offer and got in the car. Kutay Bey seemed to like it. His scent filled my nose as I sat next to him. This scent reminded me of someone.
When he said, “My dinner offer still stands,” I turned my body towards him.
“No, I remember saying that,” I said.
He leaned his fist on his chin and raised one eyebrow. I could see Kutay Bey watching me while I was giving the driver the address of my house. Why was he looking so intently?
“Is there something on my face?” I asked.
He flinched. He said, “No,” and looked away.
The car stopped suddenly. My eyebrows furrowed. Why had we stopped? When I turned to Kutay Bey, I saw that his gaze had darkened. When I looked through the windshield, I noticed that the vehicle was blocked.
“Who are they?” I asked.
He didn’t answer. I accepted the offer to escape from Cenker and realized that I regretted it. They say the man is a mafia, you came and got in his car! Well done, Belemir. Kutay Bey got out of the car and came face to face with a tall man like himself.
When the man’s gaze met mine, he laughed. I swallowed nervously. I couldn’t understand what I had gotten myself into. I could see Kutay Bey was angry even from here.
“You’ve finally reunited,” he shouted.
Who had reunited with whom? It dawned on me at that moment. The way he looked at me, his insistence on eating… But it was ridiculous that what I thought had happened. I had seen this man for the first time.
When he shouted, “Shut up! I’ll gouge out your eyes if you look at him!” I realized that everything I had thought was true.
This man was dangerous and I was in his lair. I had helped him with my own hands. I started shaking. I had to get out of here right away. As I got out of the car and started walking in the opposite direction of the vehicle, I could hear footsteps coming towards me. I was grabbed by the arm as I went as fast as I could.
“Where are you going?” he asked. It was him. I pulled my arm away with anger.
“Don’t touch me,” I shouted.
When Kutay Bey pulled his hands away, he said, “Belemir, get in the car!”
He kept running his hands through his hair. He was getting angry.
“Who are you? Actually, it’s my fault, why did I get in your car?” I shouted. Kutay Bey looked at me without responding, but he grabbed my arm again. He gently gripped my arm.
I pulled back with anger. “What do you want from me? I don’t know you. Stay away from me!” I said. I didn’t understand the inner workings of the incident. What I was experiencing couldn’t be real.
“I said you were finally reunited, but Belemir is running away, Kutay,” he said, and I questioned how he knew my name.
As I looked at the two of them with fear, Kutay Bey took me behind him.
“f**k you!” he shouted at the man. The man laughed.
“I’m leaving in honor of your reunion, but we will meet again. I really want to meet Belemir!” he said and left.
“How does he know my name?” I asked.
Kutay Bey said, “We will talk later!”
What, was he talking about after? Something was happening and I didn’t even know about it. He knew my name and was clearly threatening Kutay Bey through me. He was talking about reunion. Reunion was between two people who know each other.
“After? There is no after because you will stay away from me! I don’t know who you are and what you want from me, but I don’t know you!” I said.
“Belemir, what don’t you understand about after? Get in the car,” he said.
“Never! I won’t get in your car!” I said.
He stopped a passing taxi and said, “Get in, this one and go home.”
While he opened the door of the taxi and waited for me to get in, I said, “You get out of my life too! I don’t even want to know what that man is talking about.”
Before getting in the taxi, he said, “It is impossible for me to get out of your life,” and closed the door.
I was still in shock from what I had experienced when I gave the taxi the address of the house. Even if I wanted to learn, I couldn’t because I was scared. When I got home, my mother wasn’t home. When the employees told me she was at an association dinner, I went to my room. Although I wanted to tell someone what happened, I couldn’t handle it right now.
I took my computer and typed his name into the search engine. After reading his biography, I clicked on the news. A headline intrigued me. While the news mentioned that he was a good software developer, they also emphasized that he was involved in shady business. Today, I came across a news story about the man who blocked the car. His name was Güngör Derman. When I heard that he was married to Kutay Bey’s sister, I couldn’t understand why they were enemies.
When I came across old news stories, it was mentioned that Kutay Bey’s father was brutally murdered. Kutay Bey was also seen as a suspect. I turned off the computer and lay down on my bed. What kind of danger had I fallen into? I took a shower to control my body that was shaking with fear. When I relaxed a little, I got out of the shower, got dressed and lay down on my bed.
I needed to forget. I closed my eyes and went to sleep. I woke up when my mother nudged me.
“What happened?” I asked.
“My daughter, the Cenkers are coming to dinner,” he said.
I sighed. Cenker had mentioned it today. What would happen to my mother and father’s love for Cenker? I went to my closet and put on a tulle, double-breasted, lined, short and white dress. When I went downstairs, I saw that there was a big preparation. While my mother gave instructions to the staff, I sat next to my father.
When my mother said, “The engagement tonight needs to go flawlessly,” my eyebrows furrowed. What engagement was she talking about? She smiled as she looked at my father with questioning eyes.
When she said, “You and Cenker’s engagement,” I looked at my father in shock. What was he talking about?
“Dad, what are you talking about?” I asked.
My father looked at me very calmly and said, “Shut up and do what I say!”
I didn’t understand why a subject that hadn’t been brought up for a year had come to light again.
When I said, "You had given up," my father said, "Cenker is a good man. He wanted you to pull yourself together. Actually, he wanted to postpone it a little longer, but I told him it was time."
I stood up and looked at my father angrily. Why didn't anyone ask my thoughts?
"I will never, ever get engaged to Cenker! Do you understand? I am not my sister!" I shouted and he slapped me.
My cheek swung to the side at that speed. This was the first time he had done something that had been very hard on me. Even the helpers who were setting the table had stopped and looked at us. He put his hand on my cheek and said, "I will never forgive you, dad."
I ran to my room and started to cry. What was I going to do? Soon I heard the voices of Cenker and his family from downstairs. I couldn't stay here for another second. My father's eyes had turned black enough to slap me. I would either stay here and accept my fate or run away. I couldn't accept something like that. I put my phone and a few things in my backpack, carefully jumped off my balcony and slowly left the house. My father had left me with nothing else to do!
I started running as if I wanted to leave everything behind. The weight of what I had experienced was too much for my body. My heart, hunched over with the burdens on my shoulders, was beating as if it were galloping. Even though my father and Cenker’s men running behind me were faster than me, I was ambitious. If I didn’t get rid of them, my life would be ruined. As I was running faster, I noticed a car coming from afar at the last moment. As I closed my eyes and resigned to my fate, the car stopped right in front of me with a painful sound.
I opened my eyes as the smell of the tires filled my nose. I was about to pull over with my shaking legs when I saw him. Although I was surprised by who I saw, he got out of his car. I couldn’t figure out who was more dangerous, my father or Kutay Aslanoğlu. Kutay approached me and scanned my entire body.
“Who are you running from?” he asked.
I took a step back.
I shook my head and said, “It’s none of your business.”
His eyebrows furrowed even more than they already were. He grabbed my arm and pulled me towards him. My body stiffened when my father shouted, “Belemir,” at the beginning of the street. What is going to happen now?
