CHAPTER 1
'Buzz'
Clara's phone vibrated in her bag. She dipped her hand into her bag and fished out her phone. It's a message from Lily.
Lily: "Come to Probiz Hotel, I have something to tell you."
Clara sighed and made her way out of her barely affordable-looking apartment. She's dating a rich guy who barely cares for her well-being. Her father is also a rich man. Her father brought home his mistress and his illegitimate daughter not too long after her mother died. Since then, her father has been treating her badly, as if she was not his child. Lily is the little flower of the Elvis family. Her father favored Lily a lot. Though her father didn't abuse her, he didn't treat her well either. He made it obvious to her that he did not like her. Clara's father hides her as his daughter. Meanwhile, he showed Lily off to the world. Only a few people know she is the eldest daughter of the Elvis family.
Despite all this, Clara didn't hate Lily one bit. Instead, she loved and cherished Lily. Clara had no one to look after her and even paid her fees herself. She had many part-time jobs, so she could pay for her school fees. Mr Elvis didn't care about her at all. All that matters to him is his image and how to take care of Lily and her mother.
Clara graduated not too long ago and moved out of the Elvis family house. She rented a small apartment. She and Henry met when they were in high school and have been dating for four years. Henry is the young master of the Li family. Though Henry is rich, Clara isn't the type that would rely on someone to live. Instead, she preferred to work for her money herself.
She was about to go to her best friend's house when she received Lily's message. She decided to meet Lily instead. Maybe she had something important to discuss with her.
She grabbed a taxi and headed to Probiz Hotel. She paid the taxi driver and left. She went inside, and her eyes fell on Lily. She smiled brightly and walked over to Lily. Though Lily wore a mask, Clara didn't fail to notice her.
"Oh my, it's a pleasure to meet the goddess the whole country is dying to see," Clara said as she sat down. Her eyes beamed with joy.
Lily also smiled, but the smile didn't reach her eyes. It was clear that her smile was fake, but Clara was blinded by excitement to notice.
"How have you been," Lily said. She crossed her legs and dipped her wine elegantly.
"I'm fine. I was so excited when I saw your message," Clara said, the smile never leaving her face for once. "So why did you call me here?"
The smile on Lily's face was suddenly gone, she sighed deeply as if she was battling with depression. She poured Clara a wine and gave it to her. Clara gulped down the wine in one go. She put down the glass and looked at Lily.
"Why are you sighing? Hope everything is okay," Clara asked, her voice laced with worry.
Lily sighed again poured Clara another shot, and gave it to Clara.
"Let's have a drink for now, I just need someone to hang out with."
Clara nodded and gulped down the wine. Lily continued to pour Clara more wine till Clara passed out.
Lily smiled wickedly and took out her phone.
"Come right now, the work is done, and you know I can't carry her alone."
Clara opened her eyes slowly but the scene in front of her shocked the hell out of her. Her boyfriend and Lily kiss. She cleaned her eyes to be sure she wasn't hallucinating. But Lily and Henry didn't disappear from her sight. She wanted to say something, but her throat felt dry.
"I told you she's too foolish to notice anything. I don't know what you even see in her. I was pouring her drink and she kept on drinking it. She didn't even see me drinking the wine except the one I'd been drinking before she arrived." Lily said, and a small giggle escaped her lips.
Clara widened her eyes, so she had been tricked!
"I don't like anything about her except her beautiful face. I wanted to have a taste of her and dump her, but the b***h wouldn't let me, she kept insisting after the wedding. How dare she think I would marry a lowlife like her when I have a beautiful princess right in front of me, you have everything. The looks, fame, family," Henry said, and Lily blushed instantly.
"Let's leave now, the men I arranged for her will arrive soon. They are on their way. I called the paparazzi already, she will be on the Internet soon enough. Everyone will know that the girl who always acts innocent is nothing near innocent after all. She's a b***h who sleeps with men for money." Lily said with a cold laugh. "How does that sound? The drug is very strong, and she will be begging for more. This sounds exciting though. I can't wait for her nude to be on the internet in the morning, such a stupid girl to even think I love her. Why would I love an i***t like her? I don't want people to see us together, that's why I wore a mask anyway. I don't want her to tarnish my image. What would people say if they learned of me dining with a cheap girl, such an eyesore." Lily spat out in disgust.
"Let's go, the drug will have taken effect by now, you are all mine tonight, begging for mercy in my embrace," Henry said. With a lustful smile on his lips.
"Let's just go already, I've missed you so much." A giggle escaped Lily's lips.
