PROLOGUE
"Blythe, just relax," our housekeeper, Lexie, cooed on my side handing me a glass of water. I immediately accepted it and took a little sip. Lexie started rubbing comforting circles around my back while here I am, fidgeting on the couch still holding the glass of water. I can't still think at this moment. I am bothered and I want to know the truth coming from his mouth. I scanned the area and the four corners of the hall were covered with the silence that even a pin dropping could be heard. I let out a loud breath from my mouth and started massaging my temples. I don't know what exactly to say but I want to talk with them right away. Soon after, I heard a honk from the outside and presumed that it was the person I am waiting for. I instantly stood up and gave the glass of water back to Lexie. I composed myself and let a loud frustrating sigh. My heart is pounding while pacing the area back and forth. I don't know what will happen after this talk. Footsteps echoed down the hall causing me to turn my head until a man came into view. I instantly froze and shook in terror but my urge to know the truth prevails. "Dad," I said just enough for him to hear. He immediately walked on my side trying to greet me with a peck on cheeks but I pulled myself away causing him to crease his forehead. "What's wrong?" he innocently asked. I escaped a little smirk and shook my head in disbelief.  "Really, dad? You're asking me what's wrong when I am supposedly the one to ask you that," I answered him straight face with a conviction.  It took us a minute of silence before he broke it. Just so I thought that he already knows what I meant but instead, he asked again curiously, "What's your problem, Blythe? Come on have a seat and we will talk about it," he calmly said with a bit of concern traced on his voice. He plopped himself on the couch and patted the space beside him, asking me to sit there. A tear suddenly falls on my cheek still because of dismay, anger and disbelief. This is frustrating! I snappily wiped away the single tear escaped in my eyes which made my dad alarmed of what I actually felt. "Dad, you, you are my problem! Please tell me the truth. I am starting to make a wall on Raven but then I found out what you've done. Dad, tell me, why are you doing this to me?!" I voiced out making his eyes grow in circles. I bet he already knows what I am talking about. "I am just doing what is best for you, Blythe," he answered with his usual calm and serious expression.  My feelings suddenly burst out into tears as he indirectly admits that he has done something. I gritted my teeth and clenched my fist. They betrayed me! They made me believe in the fact that they have just constructed. For the past weeks, I thought Raven really betrayed me but my oh-so-good dad actually did it. I was about to ask him for some valid explanation but before I could open my mouth, I heard a loud bang nearby.
