Candle light flickering as a baby’s cry echos through the night. “Shhh don’t cry” The man said as his fingers touched the little baby’s cheek, more footsteps approached as the man looked over his shoulder, seeing his crew appearing into the room. With the storm becoming more brutal, they decided to stay on this island overnight. “Captain?” Benn Beckmann, the captain's first mate, became confused about why wasn’t the mother around to look after the little baby. “She didn’t make it” the man said as his red hair shined in the candlelight “Then she should go to the father” The silence was so loud, so loud that the crew begun to realize while the red haired man picked up the little girl into his arms, he turned around and everything became clear, the baby had red hair and brown doe-like eyes, the baby coo’d as it’s small hand wrapped around the man’s pinkie “She looks like you Captain” Lucky Roux pointed out “That’s because she is mine, she’s my little girl” the man that the others call Red Haired Shanks, captain of the red hair pirates. “She’ll be in danger with us, a walking target to enemies and marines alike… she can be used as a weapon against you captain, I suggest we find a home for her” Benn Beckman said trying to reason that the little one wouldn’t be safe with them, he didn’t want the child to pay any cost that would happen with being associated with the red hair pirates. “And leave her?” Shanks frowned at this, leaving the little one with someone who he didn’t know, someone who could potentially hurt her or worse, she was completely fragile in his arms. Then it dawned that he didn’t want to see his daughter with anyone else but with him and his crew, he could teach her to fight when the time was right, she’ll be capable of protecting herself and those around her and with that his mind was made up. “No. She’s safe with me and will be safe with us” he said ruffling up her red hair as the baby coo’d once again. “We’ll stay here for the night while the storm goes on but tomorrow we leave” Shanks declared to the crew Most of the crew nodded before going to rest for the night except one, the one who thought that the little girl wouldn’t be safe, especially when she grew to have a mind of her own, if she was anything like Shanks then she’d be strong willed and worse, stubborn as hell. “Look I know she’s your daughter but“ Benn started before being interrupted by Shanks “There’s no buts about it, she’s my daughter, I am the captain and what I say goes, do you understand?” Shanks interrupted his crew mate before he could say anything else, Shanks scowls at the man before looking down at the little girl in his arms, his features softening. “Yes captain…” Benn immediately left the room leaving Shanks and the little baby alone. “I’ll keep you safe… my little Sienna”
