Zulu The Brave Kitten And The Angry Storm In the great continent of Africa, there was a very furry little kitten, who loved the water so much. His name was Zulu. His mom always warns him never to go close to the waters, because cats are not good swimmers and Zulu was so furry that when he gets his fur wet, he gets so heavy that he could hardly walked. Zulu really loved to play in the rain. And this made all the other cats around call him a weirdo, because cats hate the water. But Zulu was fine being a weirdo, as long as they allowed him play in the rain. Zulu had no friends because he was different from all the other cats. Zulu's mom would say to Zulu, oh Zulu, don't you go playing in the rain like that. You should hide from the rain, always hide when the storm comes. But Zulu never listened, being inside the rain was when he was most happy, but no one understood this, not even Zulu's mom. But Zulu's mom never thought he was weird, he always told him how special and brave he was. Zulu really loves his mom. On a certain day, there was a storm coming, this was a big one. Everyone could hear the thunder rumbling, and the winds were so strong that they would move logs of dead trees lying on their path. Everyone was running for cover, they were scared, they all ran in a cave, everyone was scared. Zulu's mom ran in the cave in such a hurry, and she was hoping to find Zulu inside because he had ran off to play earlier. She searched the cave, she called out to him, Zulu, Zulu, where are you? But there was no reply. She became so scared, she couldn't find Zulu, nobody has seen him. All of a sudden, one of the cats called out, Zulu, what are you doing out there. Hearing this, Zulu's mom rushed to the entrance of the cave where she saw Zulu, outside in the mighty storm, she called out, Zulu, run! But the storm had already reached Zulu, with it's rumbling thunder and Zulu was already so wet, he could barely move. His fur were already so heavy, little Zulu became so scared as he hears the thunder, and the tornado was coming towards him and it took with it everything on its path, poor little Zulu cried out, there wasn't much he could do, he could barely walk for his fur were already so wet and heavy, who's going to help Zulu now. Zulu's mom witnessing this, she didn't know what to do, but she knew she had to do something, but what? Help him, she said (yelling), but all the other cats, everyone of them were scared, nobody was willing to go into the storm, nobody was willing to make the sacrifice to rescue little Zulu. In the face of hopelessness, all of a sudden, someone jumped into the storm. Who was this brave cat that was willing to run through the storm to save little Zulu. They all struggled to see, for the winds were gushing the water on their faces, the storm was upon them. Then one of them asked, where's Zulu's mom, where did she go. Then one of the cats said, it's her, she's heading towards the storm, she's going to rescue Zulu. Zulu's mom was willing to risk it all just to save poor Zulu who was trapped in the storm. And she finally got to him, she grabbed him and she was so fast, she ran as fast as she could, trying to get back to the cave, and it was as if the tornado was chasing them, with little Zulu hanging on. She was about to reach the cave, when she realized she couldn't make it, the tornado was so close. She threw little Zulu into the cave, she was about to go in when she was pulled by the force of the tornado. She tried to hang on to a log, but the winds were so strong, it pulled the log. Zulu witnessing this screamed for his mom, his eyes were filled with tears. The tornado pulled Zulu's mom, and she screamed, but nothing could save her, the winds were too strong. Everyone thought the winds had taken her, when little Zulu took a huge leap towards his mom and held on tight to her with his teeth, the other cats witnessing this, one of them took a leap and held on Zulu's thick fur, and then another cat took a leap and held on the first cat's tail, then the next cat did the same thing, and then the next, and then the next. Till they formed a link. They all held on and together they pulled, it was a team effort, and they were able to pull Zulu and his mom into the cave, saving them from the storm, they all overcame their fear of storm and everyone was safe inside the cave as they waited out the storm. After a while, the sun rose to the sky, and everyone was safe and sound. Zulu and his mom were safe and sound. One of the cats thanked Zulu for helping them over come their fear of the storm, for his bravery is the reason his mom is safe and sound, and Zulu's mom was so proud of her little Zulu for his bravery. And everyone wanted to be Zulu's friend, everyone wanted to be brave little Zulu's friend. And they never called him a weirdo again, instead they played in the rain with him. The End
